Kiara patted Raina's back comfortingly. "Think of it this way," she said. "He died but he WAS a hollow and hollows when they're purified with a Zanpakuto end up in the soul society in Rukongai so that's probably where Ulquiorra is right now, Stark too! And Harribel! It would be awesome if Rukia managed to get a Bankai. Everyone has one but her! Where's the fairness in that?"

"But it's not the same!" howled Raina. "And even if that's true it's not like he's going to reappear in the series anyway."

"True," Kiara muttered. "He could though!"
She was no good at comforting.

"Guys, lunch time!" said Milly. "The pizza arrived!!!"
"Pizza?!" Raina's head shot up and she was sitting at the table again in the blink of an eye.

Kiara blinked before looking back and forth from where Raina had been crying on her to the table where her friend was now eating pizza happily. She blinked again before shrugging her shoulders and going over to join the rest of them.

"We'd best head off to Shirley's dad's funeral," said Rivalz once they were finished their pizza. "You lot all ready to go?"
Raina nodded with the rest of them, but she wasn't really sure. Maybe so long as she kept to the back, everything would be fine.

Kiara glanced at Raina, maybe this wasn't such a good idea. They were almost at Shirley's dad's funeral and she was worried. What if Shirley caused a scene? Would she do that at her own dad's funeral? Kiara didn't put it past the annoying orrangette.

They all headed out to the church together, and saw that a lot of people were already gathered. Raina caught a glimpse of Shirley, wearing a hideous black dress, and a woman who had to be her mother beside her.

Kiara winced as she spotted Shirley and unconciously made sure that she was standing in front of Raina but not enough so that her friend couldn't see what was going on. As she scanned the crowd she didn't see anyone familiar which was good. She turned her head to see the orangette looking at Lelouch, she hadn't spotted Raina yet. She winced as she noticed the dress the orangette was wearing. She felt sorry for Shirley's mother.

Everyone stood by the grave for the burial. The student council stood at the back, while Shirley and her mother were at the front.
As they began to shovel dirt onto the coffin, Shirley's mother began to cry and scream. She didn't want him to be buried again.

Kiara felt a lump in her throat and veciously pushed it back down. This was a war and people died in wars, it was unavoidable. She glanced at Lelouch to see how he was taking it. His face was as expressionless as if he were wearing his Zero mask and she couldn't read him. She frowned. She then glanced at Raina.

Raina felt a bit sad... she didn't like Shirley and she never even knew her dad but this sight was very sad. But she was part of this now. She was a part of the Black Knights. She may have walked into it not realising exactly what she was doing, but this was going to be the sort of thing she'd be seeing from now on. She knew she couldn't look away - she had to face it.
Soon, everyone began to leave, and the Student Council stayed behind to talk to Shirely.
"I'm... so sorry, Shirley," said Kallen softly.
"Why are you apologising?" asked Shirley.
Raina glanced at Kallen. She must feel a hundred times worse, because it had been her who had caused the landslide - killed Shirley's father with her own hands.

Kiara stepped up and discretely put a hand on Kallen's shoulder before giving it a gentle squeeze and letting go. Shirley didn't notice thankfully. The orangette's attention had shifted to Lelouch. She looked like she was going to throw herself at him again. Kiara gritted her teeth before looking back at the grave.

"We'll be in the student council room, OK?" said Milly. "Just come whenever. Let's go, guys."
"Come on Lel-" began Rivalz, btu Milly grabbed his arm and forced him to walk along with her.
Raina quickly retreated and hid behind Kallen and Nina. She wanted to avoid making a scene.

As they all retreated Kiara made sure that Raina was covered from behind as she hid behind Kallen and Nina. She glanced back at Lelouch and mouthed. 'Good luck' to him just before he turned to face Shirley again. She felt very sorry for him at this point.
"Let's hope he survives," she muttered to Raina.

"I don't think she's going to throw herself at him again," Raina whispered back. "She seems to be feeling rather guilty about last night."

"Let's hope so," Kiara whispered back so the others wouldn't hear. "I thought you'd use your you-know-what on her last night for sure at one point."
They'd reached the graveyard gate and were just passing through it now. Kiara looked upwards in thought. "How do you think Lelouch is taking this?"

"Don't know..." Raina replied. "He's never really returned Shirley's feelings, but..."

"Not taht," Kiara said quickly. "I mean about someone he knows being related to one of the people that were killed at Narika. I mean, before it seemed kinda distant ya know? But this...this could complicate things if Lelouch lets it."

"He'll get over it," said Raina confidently. "Or C.C. will help him. It will have come as a shock, but he just needs to figure it out for himself."

"True," she murmured back. "Should we wait for him or let him find his own way back to the school?"

"Let him find his own way," said Raina. "We'll see him at the meeting tonight anyway."

"True," Kiara replied. Soon they were all back at Ashford Academy and they were back in the council room. The mood wasn't as up beat as it usually was but at least Shirley wasn't there to make everyone feel worse. Kiara looked around at them all before sighing.
"Come on!" she groaned. "Hasn't someone got anything interesting to do for the rest of the day?"

"I'm gonna watch TV," said Raina.
"I'll join you Raina!" said Milly, and thus Rivalz joined them too. Nina settled down in front of her computer and was working with uranium atoms or something. Something about a rare isotope.

Kiara yawned in boredom before going over to join Raina and Rivalz in front of the TV. Raina had the remote.
