She bid goodnight to Miss Hanely and closed the door with a heavy sigh as she thought of Richard Fochester. Miriam blushed as she shook her head and let her long blond hair down. "Pull yourself together, Miriam. It's not right to think of your future employer this way." Her eyes closed as she looked out the window and notice she had a balcony. The governess looked out at wet balcony but smiled and opened the door to walk out on it. Little did she know that Miss Hanely put her next to the master bedroom.

Richard sighed. Then he heard a door of the room next to him close. He looked over and saw Miss Waller with her long blonde hair down. She looked so beautiful.

He smiled. "Well, good evening," he spoke.

Miriam blushed as she looked over at the sound of a male's voice. Her eyes went to his for a moment but then went to the ground. "Good evening, Mister Fochester. I didn't realize Miss Hanely put me so close to the master bedroom." She looked up at him as the wind blue through her hair. The governess smiled at him slightly as her cheeks seemed to be permanently marked with the deep red color.

Richard walked over to the other end of the balcony so that he was close to her's. "Well, I did make sure you had the second best from mine," he said as he shrugged. The rush of wind that blew through her hair made her look all the more beautiful. When he noticed the moonlight shining off of her blushing red cheeks, he chuckled to himself a little. What was it...a crush?

Her eyes stayed on him as she mirrored his movements and moved closer to her employer. "That is very kind of you, sir. But I am not worthy of such a grand room to sleep in." Miriam said as she looked at him as she brushed a strand of long, blond hair back from her face as she smiled. The governess stood there with the balconies only a foot a part, and it was probably good that they stayed far apart.

Richard nodded his head. "Well, if you want, I can put you in a smaller room," he pointed out with a friendly and kind tone. "But, that is...if you've decided to take the job I'm offering," he then added.

She smiled and nodded as her eyes went to his. "I have decided to accept your offer even though I know your ward would rather see me leave." Miriam said as she closed her eyes and let the wind play with her hair as it blew. "I may grow accustomed to this room, though." Her eyes went to her watch and noticed the time. "It's gotten late and I have wasted enough of your time. I suppose we should bid each other good night."

Richard just shook his head. "We've been through more than ten governors over the years, Miss Waller. Don't expect warmth for Jenuwel," he said. "Good night, Miss waller," he said as he nodded his head and walked away to head back in his room. He was rather tired.

Miriam nodded and watched him leave as she walked toward her door. Her eyes closed as she shut the curtains and locked the balcony door. She thought of what actions she should take with her new student but decided to see what she like more before staring. The governess changed for bed and crawled into her bed. She laid there for a while thoughts of her employer running through her head. 'He seemed to like me as well...maybe I was wrong...' Her eyes closed as she fell asleep.

Richard sat at his chair in front of the crackling fire. Miss Waller seemed suitable. But what he really wandered was how long he thought she would last. Somehow, he had an odd faith in this Governess.

Her eyes remained closed as she slept until the sun started to shine through the window facing the east. Miriam looked towards the window and then slowly sat up to do her morning routine of brushing her hair and dressing. She waited though for Miss Hanely or someone to come down and lead her to breakfast because she was unsure of where breakfast was. The governess looked at the mirror and decided to just make it a ponytail today.

As soon as Mrs. Hanely was awake and well acquired, she knocked on the door of the room that she placed Mariam in, hoping she was awake.

Richard sat at the dinner table, cutting up his omelet and drinking his coffee while reading the paper.

She opened the door and smiled at Miss Hanely. "Good morning, Miss Hanely." Miriam said as she stepped out of her room and looked at her. "Would you, please, show me to breakfast?" Her face and voice were cheerful as she waited for the woman to lead her down to breakfast.

"Yes, of course. The master is in breakfast right now, but he told me that we may join him," he said as she motioned for Mariam to follow her. They headed to the end of the hallway, down the stairs, then they headed to the end of the main hallway and turned into a room through a beautiful oak archway.

Richard looked up at the two and smiled and nodded his head. "Good morning Mrs. Hanely, Miss Waller," he said. "Jenuwel refused to eat breakfast with us this morning, so she's still in her nursery," he informed them.

Mrs. Hanely shook her head as she sat down as a maid approached her with a plate. "She shouldn't have any breakfast at all if she refuses to eat it with us," she said. "Especially with guests," she then added.

Miriam followed Mrs. Hanely into the beautiful dining room and bowed her head in return as she smiled and took a set at the table. "I see. That would be a bit extreme Mrs. Hanely. She needs to learn that her behavior is wrong. But not in a way that would threaten her life." Her eyes on her meal as she started to eat and thought about what she was going to do with the child after breakfast.

Richard nodded his head and considered what Miss Waller had said. "Interesting, Miss Waller...I like the way you think," he said as he pointed his fork that had a piece of omelet on it, at her. After a year, I tend to raise my clients pay," he then said, hoping that that was a good enough bride to help her consider to stay when she needed to consider about it.

Jenuwel's ear was against the vent as she listened to what Richard and Mariam were talking about. She growled and pulled away from her nurse's grabbing hands.

Her eyes went to her employer and she bowed her head as she smiled slightly. "Thank you, Mister Fochester. But I believe I told you last night that I would stay." Miriam said as he pointed his fork at her and continued to eat her food. She sat there and continued to eat as she decided to go up to the nursery and met Jenuwel on her home ground.

Richard just nodded his head at Miss Waller. "Understandable," was all he replied.

When Jenuwel heard Miss Waller walk up to her door, she quickly straightened herself up and hid a water balloon behind her. As soon as Miss Waller came in, she quickly threw the balloon at her and laughed.
