Before they left, Tomoya made sure Mesa bathed and changed. When that was done, he carried her to the bus stop. Where they boarded a bus, and were taken to the hospital.

When they got to the hospital Mesa stayed very to Tomoya not liking being in such a place... It made her powers act funny since there was often death in a hospital and that would be dark witch weakened her light powers. They got on the elevator and took that down To the criticle care unit/ emergance floor in the hospital. Just when they were coming to the room and the two seemed to be chatting nicely a doctor came out rubbing his timples his face grim... It only seemed to get worse when he saw the two who he knew to be the children of the man and woman in the room.

Tomoya picked Mesa up, and then put her down again. "Mesa. Go sit in the waiting room." He told her, almost knowing what was happening. He stared at the doctor.

Mesa pouted form a few minutes then sighed nodding and went off to the waiting room. "Tomoya... I'm sorry... We tried all we could but... It was too late... They were too far gone... I'm sorry..." the man said sadly with true emotion. He was a close friend of the two parents and knew Tomoya and Mesa well so he knew this would be devistating for them.

Tomoya's face fell. This was bad. Very bad. He felt tears sting his eyes. "No. You're lying!"

"Tomoya!" The man said softly though somewhat sternly as he held his shoulders making him focus. "Why would I ever lie to you about my closest friends? I don't want to believe it myself.... but... there's nothing I can do... You... you have to be strong for your sister... she won't understand right off and we both know that... she needs you now more now then she may ever need you..." he said softly with pain in his eyes as he hugged Tomoya then let go of him and looked at him warily.

Tomoya frowned and sighed. He nodded and hugged the man back. Then trudged to the waiting room. "Mesa..."

Mesa looked up right away from where she had been playing with another little girl and stood walking up to Tomoya cocking her head to the side slightly. "What's wrong?" She asked curiously as she looked at her big brother and couldn't help but smile and hugged him lightly before looking back up at him.

Tomoya sighed. How could he tell sweet little Mesa that their parents were dead. He crouched down to be eye level. "Um.... Mesa..... Mommy and Daddy are gone."

What she was told didn't seem to register at first and when it did... she didn't want to believe it. "But... but they were in the room weren't they where would they go?... they... they... they..." She said and tears started to fall down her cheeks as she tried to say something more but it was interrupted by soft cries.

Tomoya nodded. "They were. But now they're not." This was the best he could tell her. He held her, wiping her tears.

Mesa cried still knowing somewhat what he meant and just couldn't help the tears. She clung to Tomoya and tried not to cry so much though it just came out along with every whimper and attempt at speaking. "Would you like me to take you two home?" The man that was their parents close friend asked looking at the two softly.

Tomoya nodded. "That'd be nice. Thanks."

"It's the least I can do." the man smiled as he led Tomoya who was holding Mesa to his car. The trip home seemed much longer then the trip to the hospital as Mesa cried herself to sleap. The car was mostly quiet and not much was said. "Take care Tomoya and be strong for boh you and your sister... I'll be back in a day or so to check on you." the man said softly as he dropped the two off at home with Mesa still asleep.

Tomoya held Mesa close the whole time. He nodded, and then walked to the house, quietly. He unlocked the door and let them in. He tucked Mesa in and then went off to sit on the roof. Where his eyes turned completely black and he watched people walk around happily. He cursed them. Cursed them and their happiness. It wasn't fair.

(hm... Should I have her wake up and start crying or wake up and go to find him on the roof?)

Mesa awoke later and rubbed her eyes whining slightly then looked around never remembering even falling asleep. She then got up and went to the bathroom then walked around slightly to find her brother. After about ten minutes she thought of his hiding places and how he loved to sit on the roof at night in the dark... it made sense to her since he was a dark fox. She walked up to the door that aloud you to get on the roof and slowly opened it peaking around to see if Tomoya was up there using her white fox eyes to see... witch would actually glow in the dark at points.

Tomoya sat up hearing noise. He looked around and saw Mesa. He sighed and patted the space next to him, indicationg for her to come and sit with him. He didn't want to move from here. The house was too big....

Mesa nodded and clambered onto the roof then over to sit next to Tomoya. She leaned on him slightly as she looked out at the lights that were off in the distance. "Are you okay Toma?" she asked softly as she looked up at her big brother and smiled slightly.

Tomoya was glad to see Mesa smiling. But he couldn't find it in himself to smile. He just nodded. "I'll be fine...."

"Okay... everything will get better! I'm sure of it!" Mesa said smiling positively up to her brother hugging him trying to make him feel better though didn't know any other way to other then hugging him.

Tomoya sighed, and hugged her back. He closed his eyes and held her tight. She was the only thing he had left. And it sucked. Very much.

Mesa smiled and yawned witch made her light light blond fox ears and tail come out. She curled up to Tomoya closing her eyes as she wrapped her tail around her sleepily. "I love you Toma..." she murmured softly as she smiled up at her big brother sleepily.

Tomoya nodded and kissed her head. "I love you too...." He muttered. His life had just turned upside down, and now he had to care for her.
