(I got to hold a ball python for twenty minutes >3< -squeeeeeaaa-)

"Dope!" he squeaked when she grabbed his tail successfully. He swayed it back and forth with her on it, before giving a gentle flick as if he tried to get her off. His blue eyes turned to the water and he turned his body so he was close, and he poked in his finger, then all of them and swishing them back and forth. "I kinda want to see what's under there." he muttered, resting his cheek on his arm.

"We all do," she giggled as it swayed, but watched him intently. "No one ever comes back up though...you could swim down there yourself, might be safer than him coming to get you."

Var lifted his tail over his head and put it before his face so he could look at her. "How can I see down there to find it?" he asked, serious. He wanted to go down there, he wanted to see. He had to shove his muzzle in every little thing he didn't know or understand.

"If you think that is all right, I'd like to swim down there."

"Probably," She blinked at him, dangling there, before reaching with one hand to toss some fairy dust in his eyes. "That'll help. I suggest you go near-er the pond though, he lives nearer there."

(Sorry for short posts she's not to interesting. xD

(XD How mean. And yes, I went to a craft show and they were selling snakes, and this cute little girl there was like "You can hold him!" so I held him. Though he wasn't for sale...I'm getting a kingsnake DAMMIT! -lubs snakes-)

The kilin sneazed as soon as it his his fair. He looked a little congested for a moment, the sneeze rattling his brain, until he came to normal and rubbed his nose. "Thank you so much, little Kaudron." he kissed her lightly on the head before standing, taking off everything but his shorts and headed to where she said it would be closer, and slipped in.

The water was a little cold at first, and he shuddered until he was used to it. He took in a deep breath, then went under. It was green and a bit dark, but he could barely see where he was going. I hope she is right... he thought, swimming down until he found something that looked like it might be an opening somewhere, and headed for it.

And strangely enough, it opened into...a canvern, in the lake. One of those strange ones, where it had it's own air and everything, surface glittering in a strange light.

It was a massive dome, with holes in the roof where moonlight poured in. A large, wooden framed bed with unkept silk sheets was to one side, book shelf with warping wood and ancient tomes, old chairs with bad cloth, or warping wood. It looked quite like a human's flat, strangely, though trinkets littered the floor and walls. Water-ruined paintings, broken lockets, clothes, things people had traded the kelpie for his services. All around, were macabre, interesting objects from all walks of life.

And the kelpie was among them, en human, wearing but a thick, deep blue indian wrap about his waist, with gold trip--a silken dancer's sash from someone years ago. Blond hair was soaked, and he had his back to the entrance pool, fingering through the old tomes to find one suitable.

A secret, of the kelpie. How much he enjoyed the lifestyle of humans, and yet how he despised how it ruins his own home. One can not help but be fascinated by what they hate.

His back was a plane of bare pale, no blemish or scar, and without the bulky jeans and hoodie he was actually very thin, wiry, almost flimsy as his human guise.

(Aren't king snakes poisonous? D: )

(Ah, no, you're thinking of a king cobra. Those are poisonous XD)

Never had he seen human decor, but it wasn't too much different from some rooms he had seen in the palace when he was allowed in for a short time. He had yet to see the Kelpie when he hoisted himself up, making small splashing sounds and grunting as he worked his thin arms. He made it over and rolled onto his back, his hair sticking to his face from being wet.

When he was satisfied that he was well rested, he rolled, looking about. He found his hand on some small shiney object and picked it up to look at. A pocket watch. He shrugged and put it to the side, seeing Nin finally. It was odd to be able to actually see a full expansion of his flesh. He had expected to see him as a large horse, laying on a bed of seaweed. Of course, that's not what he saw.

Standing, he tapped his nail against the rock wall as if knocking. He chewed on his lower lip and fiddled with his tail, then, hoping he wouldn't get too angry about his intrusion. He hadn't thought that far ahead.

Nin had half taken down a tome, when he heard the splashing. His head canted to one side and a bit back, listening, before turning around. The bells on the dancer's sash tinkled, tiny sounds echoing off the high stone walls of the cavern. A stalagmite dripped, sending a pearl of water to explode against his shoulder. "..." The boy had found his cave? In that water?

The tomb was replaced blindly, and he was almost silent as bare feet made then way toward the young man. His eyes glittered in the dim light, and as he passed by some poles, torches on them bloomed into glowing embers. They cast ominous shadows across his face. "How did you find this place?"

(It's ok XD)

He doesn't...look angry, at least. Var thought, taking a deep breath, then releasing. He couldn't help but try to be funny as he answered. "By looking, of course." he said matter of factly, and glanced around him to where he had the book before.

"What were you reading?" he asked, looking back up into the shadowed gold eyes. He flashed his best smile, appearing ignorant and innocent enough in his intentions.

He came to a stop just in front of the boy, looking a good bit above him. Anger bubbled inside him; this was his layer, no one came here, no one could get here. It was to dark, murky. No one came here, looking for it. How had the boy known where to look. And for what?

His eyes narrowed. "You should leave the way you came. This is my place."

He gulped audibly when he saw that he was, indeed, angry. He took a cautious step back, looking down at his tail and messing with it. "I...wanted to see where you live..that was it...." He was scared, and seriously about to pee himself. "I didn't know there would be anything wrong with that...You're over reacting..."

Shaking he tripped over the trinkets on the ground. Now he was really going to die.

The boy looked terrified, and Nin didn't even bother to move when he slid on a couple of necklaces and fell onto the hard stone floor. But, in essence, he did not move at him, either, which was a good sign.

In fact, he just stared at him while, insides twisting and writhing in complex emotions he was really starting to hate, that this little kilin continued to stir in him. The little boy looked petrified, and that both sated and bothered him. He wanted to drown and hold him, tell him to leave, and that it would be okay. He was an almost innocent creature, but the Seelies were hardly innocent.

He finally settled on a response; he turned around, and walked back towards his books. "Your clothes are wet, shed them. I'll find you something to wear. If you're tired, after you're dry, you may sleep on the bed."

On the surface, all the little fairies had gathered where the boy had disappeared. Kaudon, however, knew about the holes for air, and was putting her ear to one of the hidden ones.

Just as he reached the water, the kelpie seemed to change his mind, though he wasn't sure if he should listen or not, or if it would be better to just leave. He fidgeted another moment before moving further into the abode and behind something, when he then peeled off his clothing and stood there awkwardly, dripping, cold, and naked.

Nin remained at his books, plucking the forgotten tome off the shelves. "Theres some clothes over by the bed. Find what will fit comfortably, and you may have it. It does not leave this cavern, however."

Var looked around for clothes and found the first ones he saw, and put them on. They fit a bit loosely, but very well for being clothes that weren't his. He fluffed his dripping hair and squeezed it out on the floor. "Do you have a towel?" he asked, cautiously stepping closer to him.

The kelpie laughed, a bark of a sound, turning to look at him like he'd just asked some what his name was, and expected him not to know. "Me, have a towel." The book was shut with a snap. "Think this over, little kilin. Would I ever have a towel?"

It was a stupid question, sure, but it was a possibility. "Well, you are sitting here in a human form, so I didn't know if you air dried or not." he answered, but blushed and looked down.

He shouldn't have gone down there. He looked up at the holes in the roof and at the moon filtering through, tickling the ground beneath it. He cat his eyes over to his sir, and crawled into the bed, curling under the covers on the side of the bed, hugging the pillow to his face, peeking over it to watch Nin.

The pillow itself smelled of night, sleep, and cold water. An undertone of male musk, of Nin, could be picked up as well. The amusement stood, and Nin returned to his book and turned away to head to one of the old chairs near the water. "I would never force water off my body, for the water is part of who I am. Sleep well. I expect you to swim out yourself come morning." The chair groaned as he sat, upholds old and eaten away by time and being in such a humid place.

Var looked over to him and nodded, rubbing his face into the pillow, mixing his own sugary smell in without realizing. He felt awful for taking over his bed and for intruding his space. "Gentle dreams.." he whispered, half hoping he'd hear, and half hoping he didn't.

Lashed brushed against wet cheeks as his eyes closed, and he breathed out deeply, tail curling around his legs comfortably. Soon he fell asleep, scrunching up the sheets all around him to keep him warm. His dreams, though, weren't gentle as he wished upon the kelpie. He was back in the water, but this time all he saw was green. There wasn't any sand, or fish, or any life. Just himself and the abyss. He was clawing out into the water but unable to grasp anything. He could see the top of the water, but it was too far away. And in it, he could see Nin and Kaudron. The little orange fairy was giggling at him as he screamed for air, and Nin was just watching with his cold, golden uncaring eyes. There was a small hint of amusement, but what he really saw was contentment, as if Var had finally got what was coming to him.

Through the night he cried and whimpered, shaking gently and occasionally tossing to the other side. He didn't, couldn't wake up. He was stuck with the nightmare and with the outward physical reactions.

The crying, whining of the little creature either went unheard, or was appreciated. The fae read for quite some time, near the morning hours even, before he grew tired himself and tucked the book away--old page dog eared for what seemed the umpteenth time. When the book was done, and his yawning had quieted, he convinced himself to go to bed. The sash was discarded, as was his way, and he delved into the free side of the bed with a happy sigh.

For most the night the boy remained untouched. But as moonlight died and gave birth to new morning dew, leaking in from the holes in the ceiling, the kelpie rolled over to do nothing more than touch his fingertips to the kilin's back in his slumber. His dreams were empty and blank as they were most nights, though an occasional flash of violet, or the quiet chimes of giggles, caused his shoulders to tense for just a moment.

Var was finally able to shake awake some time into the morning. He opened his eyes and stared off into the blurred space, waiting for his vision to clear, before he rolled onto his back, looking at the rock ceiling. His head turned and looked into the face of the other. He didn't look as...menacing in his sleep. He reached his small fingers forward, gently brushing at the soft blond bangs.

He wished that Nin had a better attitude. He was very attractive, after all, and he looked like he could have his moments. He did take him out to eat human food, after all. Var sighed and nosed the fingers that were close to him, before he slipped out of the bed, making his side neat and put together, before changing out of the clothes and into his old, still cold and damp ones, and went out through the water, back to the surface where the warm sun would be to greet him.

And, the girls were all seated on a rock, staring up and down the river like watching a ping-pong match. When he surfaced, they all took a collective breath of awe, before flying over and attaching to him like gnats. Little voices cooed all kinds of 'what's it like, are you okay, did he hurt you, you're all cold, did you sleep down there, how are you still alive' kind of questions. Kaudron had claimed a perch on top of his head, trying to wring out his hair in tiny clumps she could fit in her itty-bitty hands.
"Girls girls girls hush hush hush! I can't even barely understand you."

Ignoring them, he just crawled out into a patch of sun, gently laying down since Kaudron was on his head. He laid in the warmed grass, cold and trying to soak up what the blades were taking. "Can I lay here a moment?" he asked, lids closing. His sopping wet tail flicked water irritably at the other little fairies, but avoided the orange one with care.

The little women squealed and darted off in every direction, trying to avoid the water droplets. Little Kaudron continued to wring at his hair.
"You shared the Sir's bed?" It was both a question and a statement, as if she already knew the answer. "I am surprised he did not jetison you from the river like a bullet from a gun."

Var's eyes strained upwards to try and see her, but he sighed and closed them again, beginning to get a headache. "Yea...He told me to sleep on the bed...I stayed at the very edge all night, though." He licked his lips in thought, then sat up, taking his hair over his shoulder and wringing it out, getting the job done faster.

"He was angry with me, Kaudron...He was so full of anger, I thought he'd explode. I moved away from him, and in that time he had calmed, and instead of forcing me out, he instructed me to get dressed in something dry. I further embarrassed myself by asking if he had a towel....It was the most horrible night of my life." Perhaps it was an over exaggeration, yet perhaps it wasn't. He sighed and held his head in his hands. "I had a horrible night mare, too..." he added, peeking through his fingers. But he did remember some nice things about it, and so he smiled. "But it was nice to be in a bed again. And it smelled nice."
