I have a pretty rare type of blue eyes, most of the time they are an indigo/navy blue. Some of the time they are so dark they look black, but can vary from ocean blue to a dark steel-gray/blue. It's kinda strange what makes them change color though, it seems to have something to do with my surroundings, most noticeably when I'm near water. They'll go to a cerulean when I'm near the ocean and gray when it's raining. It just adds to the joke that I'm the missing link between humans and fish, lol.

It was thought that blue was a recessive gene with brown being the dominate but studies have found that no one eye color is more or less dominate to another. All eye colors are Polygenic, meaning that several genes mix to determine any one eye color, and those genes don't seem to be completely exacted by family genetics.

Due to how complex eye genetics are, almost any combination of parent-child eye color is possible, both parents can have blue eyes while their child ends up with green-brown hazel. Science still doesn't know what all that it takes to create or decide an eye color, but they do know that all humans originally had brown eyes, all other colors are a mutation of genes.

Also, scientists believe that all blue-eyed people have a single common Nordic ancestor, how weird is that?

My eyes are light olive green with a blue rim around the pupil. My friends tell me they change colour sometimes, though.
Most of the time they appear black from lack of light however.

Mine change color depending on the day. They go between blue and grey and hazel.

I've had an ophthalmologist ask me what color they are. I guess that day was one of those in-between where it wasn't one color or another. You'd think that an eye specialist of all people would be able to tell xD

My drivers license says blue though, so that's what I usually tell people.

My eyes are messed up O.o;

In some light, and depending on what I'm wearing, they will either look blue or green. I tend to wear a lot of green, so that's what most people believe they are. However there's an inner ring of a hazelish color and flecks of gold throughout.

Blue. In some lights they look green, and in others rather grey. They aren't as pretty as they used to be when i was younger. They were a really dark, rather entrancing blue then.

I have blue eyes. ^^; Many people tell me that my eyes look very pretty; especially because I have dark brown hair with veryyyy faded blonde highlights and natural-ish red highlights. :D

interesting thing eye color is decided from 3 alleles even tho most genetic markers are two. its how people can have various shades of colors.

Brown and I also have a few black eye freckles. I have tiny "Asian eyes" as my sister puts it.

Mine are a green-grayish, and people say they turn bluish when I'm angry... haha.

My eyes are grayish blue with gold centers. I kid you not they really do have gold centers. When I am sad they turn gray. When I am mad they turn so dark of a blue that they are almost black.
