(Lmao!!! Made me giggle!)

He had to prove it. To everyone he’d ever known, from high school onward. A gay male could most definitely be a badass too! So here he was, on this little rickety boat, peering over the side doubtfully. This boat was so not going to survive. Once again, Aaron wished he’d taken the swimming lessons his parents tried to force on him.

He sighed, his blond head lifting and looking around at the other passengers. Why were they here? What martial art did they know? Would they be opponents? The blue eyed boy was at a loss.

(I’m so sorry it’s so short…I really had no idea what to post to start out, lol. Forgive Kisu?)

[[ooc: It's fine. I hope mine wasn't too long lol. So we'll take this after the first movie...we'll just leave out Shao Kahn saying...whatever it was he said at the end of the movie. And it sucks D: I don't have a picture for Aurin, but I'll try to be as descriptive as possible]]

Aurin sat in his room of the Lin Kuei headquarters. These four corners of dark, depressing brick wall were all he knew, and the oak door that separated him from the hallway was most often locked from the outside. They were centered in China, and he was anxious to see the world at large. The previous Sub-Zero had died, and his brother was being dispatched to pick up where the previous ice ninja had left off. Namely, serving Shang Tsung and the Emperor of Outworld. It would only be a matter of time before the Emperor brought Shang Tsung back to life, if he felt the need for it. Aurin had only heard rumors and stories about the Outworld Emperor, and he was not a kind ruler. Aurin didn't know about kind leaders though, so he couldn't compare Shao Kahn to Onearo, or anyone else. He was so naive about the world...because he was so young in it.

He had not been born. Onearo had told him, point blank, that he'd been cloned after Sub-Zero...the younger one...because there was potential and promise in the young man. He was one of the best they had. Aurin hoped that he would get the chance to go with Sub-Zero. He'd passed all the training, and even though he was smaller in build, he was still strong. He had the same Powers that Sub-Zero did - he could manipulate ice. He had never even met Sub-Zero, or his older brother. All he had was a name, and a description. Master Onearo opened the door - as he was the only one with a key - and motioned Aurin to come out.

"You are to leave soon. With Sub-Zero," Onearo instructed. Aurin remained silent, and kept the emotions off his unmasked face...but he was excited. The ice ninja was already masked and ready to go. His sienna eyes took in Aurin, and he missed nothing. His eyes narrowed a little, as he must have noticed that Aurin looked like a slightly younger version of himself. Aurin had the same shaped eyes, the full lips, and high cheekbones that Sub-Zero did. "You will participate in the Mortal Kombat tournament, and eleminate the champion. Your brothers' murderer."

When they departed, they took a plane to America. In silence. For forty eight hours. They caught the rickety boat that would take them to Shang Tsung's island. Aurin, now masked in a lighter blue Lin Kuei uniform, stood on the deck with his arms folded over the side, looking out into the vast distance of the sea. How big and exciting the world was! Sub-Zero was below deck...and still had not said a single word to him. It was almost...disheartening. Thinking about it now, about their first meeting not two days ago, Aurin sighed and shook his head unhappily.

It was easy enough to spot most of the occupants at a glance. Some wore such getups…It was funny. Always curious about fashion, Aaron practically waltzed over to a…male? Yes, male, who was dressed in light blue.

Such a lovely color…made Aaron want to dirty it up a bit. The male checked himself. Bad thoughts. Not good, especially since he had no idea who his opponets were. “Hulllooo!” He called when standing next to the male, giving him a tiny wiggle of his fingers. “Aaron here…Who might you be? Whatchu doing here?”

(Sorry it took so long, off to bed…when I wake, I will give a much better, longer, and detailed reply…ish sorries….)

[[ooc: S'okay ^_^ I don't care how long the post is. I think I'm pretty laid back - if you don't mind, I don't mind ]]

Aurin almost jumped out of his skin, surprised that anyone was talking to him at all. When his orange-red eyes met those of the male in front of him he almost turned around to see who the guy was talking to - before he realized he was the target. Aurin couldn't help it, he smiled under his mask. The Lin Kuei were devoid of emotion - as far as Onearo had taught him - but he'd never been very good at hiding his feelings. It wasn't difficult to understand, his lonlieness and the need to talk to someone else when the only other person he'd ever had a connection with was the Grand Master...and now...Sub-Zero...wasn't talking to him. But this male was. It was more than Aurin was expecting. He thought of how to answer the male.

"Hello," Aurin said quietly. Okay, a greeting was okay. Check. "My name is Aurin, and I'm...uhm..."

Can't tell him you're on assignment.

"Competing in the tournament."

Well it wasn't like that was a lie or anything. He knew Sub-Zero was competing and he had all intentions of doing so too.

Aaron laughed loudly, before shaking his head. “Of course you’ll be competing in the tournament…I meant, we’ve all got a reason to be here, and I doubt we all have the same reasons… What’s yours?”

The slim male leaned over the side next to Aurin, folding his arms on the railing. “What’s your fighting style?”

He himself had no special powers. Actually was unaware they even existed. Aaron fought using Varma Kalai, also known as ‘the art of vital points’. Due to his training, he could fight when many weapons, use martial gymnastics, and, naturally, use hand to hand combat. He was fairly small, to be a fighter, and the style he’d chosen at a young age had been proven an excellent one: In Varma Kalai, he could use his opponets strength against him.

(I still feel bad, lol.)

Aurin couldn't help but notice that he and Aaron were standing in a similar pose, their arms folded against the railing of the boat. Both of them had similar builds - short and slim. They would be the underdogs, for sure, when everyone else on this boat was bigger than them. For a moment, Aurin had to wonder where Sub-Zero was, but Aaron's voice and laughter brought his attention back toward him. Once again, Aurin was at a loss for words. He couldn't outright tell this male his true reasons for being here...maybe he could make something up.

Nope. Nothing sprang to mind. When Aaron asked another question, one that had to do with his fighting style rather than his origins, Aurin felt this was a question he -could- answer.

"Dragon," Aurin replied. "And I can freeze people. And make ice sculptures with my hands."

Aurin was met with silence, as the dyed blond stared openly. Finally, he gave another laugh, though it sounded a bit forced. “F-funny, man. Seriously. Dragon, huh? Never seen it…You should show me some of your moves…” The male nodded to a nearby crate.

“And hey, don’t take this wrong way, cause I mean, it looks cool and all…just…what’s up with the getup? Your costume? I wish I’d known they were allowed…I’d have made a black one with some pink trim…” Aaron became starry eyed for a moment, until remembering what he asked. “So yeah, what’s up with it?”

Why was Aaron laughing at him? Didn't everyone have access to the Power? Couldn't everyone generate an element...like ice, or fire, or energy. The members in the Lin Kuei all had access to it, although to bring out one's Talent they had to undergo the most traumatic endurance test. Aurin's gaze went to his feet, then slowly rose along his own body, taking in his garments. He brought one of his hands to his neck, rubbing the vein that was covered by the black cloth.

"I wear this all the time," Aurin said. "Not the mask, but this...ah...getup, as you call it, is our standard form of dress. It's not my favorite color though. I like orange, and darker blues. And citrine is pretty too, it reminds me of the sun."

Goodness, he was talking a lot. Weren't the Lin Kuei supposed to be silent? But he couldn't help himself around Aaron. He was actually nice to talk to. "You don't believe me about the ice, do you? I could show you...if you want. On that crate."

”What do you mean, ‘standard form of dress’? That looks awfully uncomfortable to wear all the time…” Aaron shifted uneasily under Aurin’s strange gaze. After the male spoke again, he shook his head and chuckled. “Yeah okay…show me, Mister Icee…”

Aaron lifted himself from the railing, folding his arms and staring at Aurin, as if challenging the male. No one could control ice…

Mr. Icee, what was that? What a strange nickname...then again, to Aurin, Aaron was a strange name in and of itself. He strolled over to the crate and grinned more under his mask. He reached out--

And another hand grabbed his wrist. His gaze traveled from the hand to the wrist, which had black wristguards on, up the bare muscular arm. Sub-Zero had stopped him before he started, looking sternly at the younger male, then at Aaron. His sienna eyes glanced down at the crate, then back at Aurin with disapproval. Sub-Zero was dressed in the same ninja garb Aurin was, except the hues were a bit darker.

"What were you doing?"
Sub-Zero asked.

"I...uhm...he wanted to see..."

"Your powers at work. Now is not the time,"
Sub-Zero said. His grip wasn't hard, and he let go. The truth was, he didn't want to hurt Aurin...or the male he'd befriended. But the Lin Kuei were secretive and Sub-Zero wasn't sure how much the younger ninja had already divulged.

”Hey!” Aaron cried out, glaring at Sub Zero. “Who the hell are you? He can do what he wants…” He looked at Aurin as if to say ‘I’ve got your back’.

The two men were dressed the same, with the same weird mask, though the newcomer’s was darker. What was this competition? Were these two in some cult, thinking they could actually use these powers? “Let me guess, Mister? You can bring unicorns outta the clouds?”

It was clear to Sub-Zero that whatever Aurin had told Aaron, the guy hadn't believed. Well, he was in for a rude awakening when they got to the island, that was for sure. With all the other combatants and their latent abilities, this one was going to have his eyes set on Saucer-Mode. The older ice ninja ignored Aaron's sarcasm, and his questions, and instead his gaze settled on the cliffsides in the distance. They were getting closer to land, closer to their destination. The others on the deck and below were coming out of the woodwork to get a closer look. Sub-Zero had never been on the island, but he knew this was where his brother had died.

And he and Aurin would find his brothers' killer, and eliminate him in return. That was the plan, anyway. Sub-Zero wasn't quite sure if Aurin actually had the nerve to kill at all. Sub-Zero was sure that he could. He'd never actually done the deed before but he was a trained assassin. We must not fail.

Aurin looked from Sub-Zero to Aaron, then to the distant cliffs. He almost wanted to run over to the side of the boat but he realized that, one: the rails were crowded and two: it wouldn't bring him any closer to the view. Patience was a virtue.

"This is Sub-Zero," Aurin introduced. "He can-"

Another stern look cut him off. "Nevermind. You'll just have to find out during the tournament, I guess."

Aaron snorted, and folded his arms over his chest, staring mockingly at Sub Zero. “Lemme guess…You pull unicorns outta your ass?” He shook his head and opened his mouth to mock the male some more, when commotion caught his eye. People were crowding around the far railing…Land!

Excited, Aaron reached out, gripping Aurin’s wrist gently and tugging him towards the people. “Hey! C’mon…let’s go see…you wanna?”

(Life is getting really hectic…Forgive me for not replying…It may take a while for me to get back to you over the next few weeks….I‘m sorry…)
