You can earn gold by posting, and this is probably the main way I make gold. The more you post, the more you earn. :yes: Length matters. Spamming and bumping is not allowed, so be careful of that.
You can also play games and earn up to 250g per day. You can do this on your main, and your mule, but you're only allowed one mule account. :yes: So, there's up to 500g per day if you play on both accounts.
Then there's selling art, or working the exchange by buying low and selling high...

It's always good to read through the stickies -- there's a gold earning guide, and a starter guide in this forum alone. The Information Desk also has a subforum dedicated to FAQs.
