Am guessing from an episode where she had the influenza? Am I correct? Did I win the door prize?

Oh ho ho. That was a witty hypothetical joke.
Hmm... Silver? I'm keeping my eye out for some nice, elegant silver pieces like so:
I need to start college so I'll have more educated things to discuss... Have you any interest in psychology?

I loved Psych. I mean, I still do, but what a stellar class. Don't hesitate, enroll in whatever level you can once you get the over all enrollment underway. You'll do good, kid, I can tell.
Silver and copper and bronze. So much to love. Do you like mercury glass, Like the poor man's bohemian's silver. Also lovable.

Oh, I plan on majoring in Psych. I'm highly interested in it, and while I don't want to be psychiatrist seeing patients, there's enough that you can do with a psych degree that I'll have some nice options. And I could also go to grad school for even more options.
The other day I saw a book on psychology from 1981 or so in Goodwill. I didn't purchase it because I knew it would be terribly outdated and I didn't want to learn what is now misinformation on it. Later I decided it would be a nice hardcover to at least look pretty on a shelf, but when I went back they didn't have it anymore. Piddles.
Oh, yes, I love mercury glass! I thought it might be more expensive that silver, though... But hey, if it's not, I'm all over that. It gets such a lovely aged look to it, where if you're not careful, you can polish silver up to look just brand new. Which is nice, but... I like patina, just not dirt.
Mercury is toxic, of course... but is the mercury contained on the inside, or is on the outside as well? I'm wondering if owning it in a house with pets (who are wont to lick random things) might not be such a swell idea... things I should consider before owning either.
Don't forget brass! It might just be my favorite metal of all. There's something about a brass animal that I just can't pass up.

It depends on the quality, as far as price... and it's also probably a factor as far as how safe it is for pets. I think it's on the outside, but is sealed with something else on top of it? Of course, there's a lot on the market today that probably doesn't use mercury in the creation of mercury glass.
Fantastic that you know what you want to major in! It's a fertile field. Heh, fertile field...
Such a disappointment when that happens. But it's happened to me so much over the past few years that's it's not so much of a blow anymore.
:O I thought I included brass.

Hmm, Piddles, I don't want to risk bringing something unsafe to my pets... but then again, doesn't one have to consume a lot for it to be dangerous? An errant lick probably wouldn't seal their coffin (or call the vet), right? Maybe? I know nothing of mercury.
Yeah, I had been stressing over what I wanted to be for a while. I know there are kids in college who still don't know, but not knowing was a point of high stress for me. So I considered the possibilities of a degree in psychology and where it could get me, and none of the places look bad, and since I wanted to study it anyway, I'm just going with it. If I come up with something worlds better, I'll do that, but just having a default plan is providing lots of comfort.
Nah, you said copper. But had you also said zinc, then that would have covered it.

Aww. Hopefully it won't affect the product negatively. That'd only end up causing more cuts in the end...

True. It's all down to the Tories and their fiscal approach.
You know it mystifies me... that no one has 'figured it out', or rather, blatantly stated that it has been figured out. These protest/riots/demonstrations in the UK. It's what happens when Tories get elected. It should be considered par the course. Tories get elected --> cut things that are important to a thriving society --> protests. Under Cameron. Under Thatcher. Unrest is part of Tory rule. Either stop electing them, or accept it. 'course to do that, the more thoughtful amongst us would have to pervert our values. So there's only option one, really. Ugh, such a ramble. I blame the pain meds (and youthful indignation, maybe)

I'm gonna go ahead with the ignorant-sounding option as opposed to googling (mostly because wiki entries are unweildly and I'd prefer the reader's digest version): Tories?

Tories are the conservative political party of the UK. More or less on par with the republicans.

Ah, gotcha. See, I could have read the entire wikipedia article and probably still wouldn't have understood quite clearly.
See, I consider that a problem with the internet. It's the home to so much information, but a quarter is false, a quarter incredibly vague (not enough information), another quarter is so incredibly in depth (and now for all the siblings of everyone involved in this!) and edited to be absolutely without a doubt correct, that if you read it, you will learn almost nothing because you're being inundated with so much useless information, and the remaining quarter is something that has just enough information that you can learn about something without getting caught up in useless trivia. People like to act like you don't need school with the internet existing, but you absolutely do, you need a teacher or a textbook which will give you a manageable version of events.

well, just changing out topical, though it rarely has any baring on the content of the thread. I have an idea of what I would add, it's just feeling the full force of inspiration, you know?
