Oh, I love that flora and fauna washi tape! No idea what I'd use it for, but I can think of something, surely.
Is that a set up you have at home? Lovely. I'll have to take pictures of my hobbit style party to show you.
No, but that's funny you mention her. My friend just did a Ms. Havisham style photoshoot:
At least that's what I get from it. Either way, it's fun. I wish you could see the little skull in her hand a bit better.

Other than that washi tape tumblr, I'm not good with coming up with ideas either, ha.
yeah, that's my bedroom, specifically.
That's so neat! Love taking inspiration from that for a photo shoot.

When I buy pretty things to craft with, I some times just want to look at them rather than mess up anything and accidentally ruin it. So, washi tape is something I love, but I still haven't branched out and bought some to use it.
It looks great. I love showcasing things, but I just don't have a lot of room. So, my stuff tends to look cluttered at the moment.
I'll be going in for photos soon. She wants to do a tarot card deck and an Alice and Wonderland-esque shoot.

I was thinking the other day... Alice in Wonderland is so popular the world over, why is it that Tales of Hoffman aren't so well known? You could say it's too dark but... Dark versions of Alice in Wonderland are pretty dang popular too.

Whoa, cool tape! I too have no idea what to use washi tape for... but I found myself in possession of some, so I could definitely use a link to aforementioned tumblr.
I love that little shelf you have there. Or is it a drawer turned into a shelf? Typesetting drawer, maybe? Either way, very cute. Would love a better look at what all you've got stowed in there. Have always wanted one of those, though I imagine they would be a pain to dust.

Biggles: Maybe there just needs to be a modern story retelling/production to get people's attention. Alice and Wonderland has had so many many incarnations. I love the fanciful ones just as much as the dark.
I feel like I'd use some washi tape to put up pictures or make a cool statement wall if mine weren't painted nice. Or I could frame my flowery paper deer mount with it:

Neat mount!
Since I posted my previous message, I decided to take washi tape research into my own hands. I consulted what is likely the #1 site for this sort of frippery: Pinterest. There was much frippery. But I did find a lot of ideas I thought were neat, and I saved them all, as you do. So if anyone wants to see, What Do I Do With This #$%^ Tape?! I especially liked the ideas that were larger-scale - the stairs, doorways, shelves, murals, etc. I'm soon moving into an apartment and the likelihood that I'll be allowed to paint or anything similar is slim. Removable decorating solutions are exactly what I need.

The foremost site for frippery indeed! And that's why I love it. I love the stair kickboard and the doorway idea. Clever when you can't add paint.

Those are two of my favs too! But I think the skyline headboard and the origami bird "mural" take the cake. Doubt I could ever recreate them and have them look like anything other than trash, but a girl can dream.

I had a moment today when I was cutting out fabric for pendant banners. Straight lines and I don't like each other >.< So, I'm right there with you.
I did stripes on one of my walls when I first painted here. They came out good but, phew. Pain.
Also, I love seeing the cute things you pin. :D

Okay I'm all over the place so give me a moment.
Washi tape tumblr: link posted back a page. Also posted some etsy tapes that I thought might be of interest. Woody might like one of them too, a Mucha pattern one. It's down near the bottom of the list I think.
Mounted animal heads : I just got a staghorn fern and I wanted to hang it on the wall like you see so much lately. Kind of would like to have it be on one of those heraldic plaque mounts that they have for antlers, but there's a part of me that doesn't want to give the larger hunting industry any of my money. ..
Curio cabinet: Yeah, it's a wee... well curio cabinet. Here's a photo but I'm not sure it's much better because my phone would only take grainy pictures of it. Which is cheesing me off

Mucha patterned? Oh yes! You know me well, I'll check that out later.
The craft stores have (at least around Christmas) really nice fake antlers and plaques. I also bought fake antlers that even had a nice velvet-y feel to them, but I gave them to my aunt. I wish I bought more because they were fantastic.
That's a lovely little curio! And do I see a mini cloche jar in there?

Woody - Pendant banners! Do take pictures when you're done! Are they for a party, or just some whimsical decorating? I just had a graduation party over the weekend, and I hung some cute paper pendant banners. They were just plain, light purple, but they added so much to the atmosphere. But I've seen them used so well in regular, every-day decorating. In fact... I think I have a few things like that on my Pinterest... Ah, here we go. Though they're a bit more stylized than the standard isosceles. A-one, and a-two, and a-three. In fact, I think this entire board of mine might interest you. Though I have no clue how you've decorated your abode. Board.
Biggles - Definitely check Michaels! I think they usually have a few plaques in their raw wood aisle. It would take a little sanding and staining, and you'd need to add the hardware, but it could be worth it in the interest of not supporting a gross industry? Also, Michaels is just a wonderful place, so who needs an excuse to go in there? I went in there today to return some unused party supplies and maybe pick up a couple terra cota pots... $14 later, I emerged, dazed. Good thing they wanted a ridiculous $5 for a single roll of washi tape or I probably would have come out with a lot more. Since pinning last night... I'm a little inspired. My space bar, pencil holder, phone charger, laptop charger, and an envelope opener have all been decked out. I can't stop. I'm not even doing that good of a job! How do these Pinterest ladies do it!
Ah, yes, I can see better now! And I'm seconding the tiny cloche jar love. Where did you get those? I've got some teenies that could use the bell jar treatment. I've got this really lovely dove feather I found in my backyard a couple weeks ago that doesn't have a home yet. It's in such pristine condition and has the prettiest gray gradient going down it. Stood up in a little cloche, I bet it would look great.

I got mine in the indoor pots and gift shop area of a nursery in West Seattle. I couldn't tell you who made them, maybe it's a generally common gift shoppy brand, like tag or twos company?

Eeee, cute!
I'm confused as to why she's listing MT tape, though? You can order directly from their website. Unless those patterns have been discontinued or something?

I got my mom two mini cloche jars! I wish I could steal them cause I love them so! I have just one, but she has a bunch of spendy awesome hand blown ones. I have a faery trapped in my cloche jar :3
Pendant banners! Up the wazoo. I'm hoping to have 60+ yards of banners. I just killed by wrist cutting them out. Mine are the boring standard kind made out of felt in greens, golden yellow, and cream for a Lord of the Rings themed party. I wanted to party like Bilbo and Frodo. So tons of banners, pretty lighting, some lanterns, a mini party tree (sadly), etc. I even got the bakery downtown to make me a plain white two tiered cake that I'm going to put flowers and candles all over like Bilbo's cake in the movie.
Do you have a pintrest too Biggles? I love seeing what Cherry posts, I'd follow you too! I'm not on tumblr enough to see all the glorious things you (and Jelly) put up there.
Also, Cherry I love that board! I've got a fantasy mish mash thing going on in my space, but I'm always looking for more pretties and ideas! I think I follow all your boards on pintrest. I love the eclectic look a la something like Practical Magic. Glass, mixed soft colors, soft mood lighting.

pinterest really isn't my thing. I also find it off putting how the site doesn't like non - members navigating the site :/ I just post things on tumblr or save things to folders on my computer

Sounds like it'll be a really neat party! I hope to see pictures!
I didn't know you had a tumblr! Or maybe I did and I just forgot which one was yours. What's your url? Mine is second-breakfast.tumblr.com, though I post a lot and it's a complete grab bag, so I completely understand some people not being interested in it.
You probably follow all my stuff. I'm just not on pinterest very much these days, unless I'm looking for something specific. I like the stuff on it, but sometimes it just bothers me trying to think of what board to put what picture on when I'm only trying to save it to curate a pretty board, and not to reference it later. so I just go to tumblr where I can mindlessly reblog without having to worry about organizing things.

Ah, I didn't know you can't poke around without signing up. That's too bad.
https://www.tumblr.com/blog/gloaminggirl <--I'm not on too much though.
Thanks! I'm excited for the party. Just overwhelmed with everything I have to make. I'll post pictures on fb for sure.
See, I like the organization of pintrest. It helps me when I'm planning parties.

I do like the organization, at times. Other times it just gets in the way for me. And then I sort of go overboard with it, and end up with so many boards that just finding the board I want to pin to is a challenge. ._.

My mum would like that duvet cover. That's her favorite flower. :3
I have issues just knowing a vast majority of the things that I covet on my clothing board are things I won't be able to get. https://www.pinterest.com/gloaminggi...asing-apparel/
