I have definitely had fun trawling through World Market. I mostly ended up buying imported foods (digestive biscuits from England), but I got a few kitchen items there too. I think I still have some boxes of plastic drink mermaids and olive swords. :3
I've been aware of ModCloth for a long time, but I've been avoiding it because I knew it would be full of temptations. Like these USB cork lights. Not at all something I need, but definitely something I want. Also this raccoon pillow keeps catching my eye.

Aw, well, they do at least ship all over. It's quality is pretty good across the board, so even if you don't see it in person, you can more or less trust.
I always go there at Christmas too. Some are favorite decorations came from there.
With decor, you can usually find Modcloth's stuff elsewhere. As far as clothes/shoes/much if the jewelry, beware, the quality is usually crap.

Hah, that's a good warning to have about ModCloth. I'll be sure to double check before I order anything.

There's a World Market minutes from my guy's current place. But I'm really more for clean lines and modern simplicity, which isn't really WM's thing. Though I'm sure I'd find a couple things to my taste if I looked.
I think I'll be taking you guys' suggestion on the Ikea duvet. And I'll be throwing these tea towels in with it. So cute.

I bought a ton of Christmas goodies and ornaments from WM when I was living in Portland. I went back for holiday wine and treats every week during December.
Modcloth... I have a love/hate relationship with that site. I've seen some lovely things, and I got a fantastic dress there. But I'm wary enough to always read the comments from users. It's the best indicator for fabric quality and construction. I've got curves so, if I want a dress and the person making it doesn't bother taking that into consideration when making larger sizes, I wanna know.
I also learned not have my heart set on things from there. I had one order pending that was a gift for over a month before they told me that it was over ordered and I couldn't get it. [glare]
Those tea towels are adorable. :D

Ooh! I was going to do kitchen herbs! I should get that!
So, the evil red sheets have been replaced! I took Preston to Target to look at the organic cotton ones, but he felt the solid white was "too boring." Then he points to this dark purple instead. Nice, but... no. Not what I have in mind. So we compromised by going for a white with a subtle gray pattern that we both liked. True White. It's hard to see the pattern in this pic, so zoom in on the shadows to see it. The rest of them were too shiny, but white can't really have a sheen to it on account of already being white. So we were both happy. Can't quite get him to commit to the duvet cover yet, but progress is being made.
That pink deer is really cool. I'm digging these giant wall buttons, just wishing they came in different colors. Really not digging the high-visibility yellow-green or the polka dots.

Ooh, 500 thread count, that should be good. And very grown up. You've made it, you crazy kids.

His ugly red sheets are 500 thread count too. That's the only way he accepted these - dubbed it "a lateral move."
Also, his brother and sister-in-law were cleaning out their basement and offering up their junk before taking it to Goodwill. So we now also have an expanding shoe rack, a christmas tree, and an iron! Regular fuckin' adults right here, we are.

Biggles, you suggested a tapestry for my apartment. I think I found the place. Out of my price range, though.

Ack! Sorry I poofed. Busy busy helping my dad while he's looking for a new worker.
I just bought a bunch of kitchen herbs and some cute clay pots for them. Just the standard rosemary, sage, etc....since I have a few mints and lemon balm that come back every year. The other good ones died.
Those are some spendy tapestries, but cute. Which did you like the best?

Aaaah, I'm finally back! Laptop went kaput, the Mene password I had on my cheatsheet was apparently outdated/wrong, and the password reset process took a few days. But now I'm back! not on my laptop, but back, anyway. I'm stealing borrowing the boyf's laptop while he's at work. It's so nice to look at the internet on something other than a tiny phone screen!
Anyway, back to jellyfish matters...
Natch, the tapestry I liked the best was the gray one - "Sunroom Blanket." I also like the blue "Garden Blanket." Both are back in stock now! ... But still $350, so it makes no difference to me - can't afford it either way!
That tapestry you found is really cute, Biggles!! Due to its cutesiness, I think I'd prefer it in a small print, but I'll definitely be keeping that one in mind. I really love the greens! I've always thought it would be cute to have a print of one of Lautrec's In Bed above a bed... maybe I could find that printed on a tapestry!
Now, onto updates! I really wanted to share this with you guys at the time - unfortunately now it's kind of old news, but... We bought a really neat dining table off of Craigslist! It was completely by chance - we didn't plan on buying a table until we had moved in, I was just skimming CL to get a basic idea of what I should expect to pay. But I stumbled across a complete one of a kind beauty and couldn't let it go! The table was hand-made by a local architect with wood reclaimed from a local abandoned (now """""haunted"""") brewery. Since we bought it, the listing has been taken down so I can no longer share with you the nice photos that sold me on it. So instead, you'll have to make do with this photo I just took. Lots of crap in the picture since we're still moving in and getting everything put away in its place.

It's imperfect and rough and completely wonderful. It came with some chairs (the black one on the left - mind the desk chair that has just been shoved there until I can put my desk where it actually belongs ) - I'm not in love with them but they're perfectly nice and suit the table decently. I didn't want to spend weeks trying to hunt down chairs that matched and were the correct height. I may replace the chairs later, but for now we have something nice to sit on and can focus on more pressing matters.
So... yeah, I moved! The apartment is just beautiful and wonderful and spacious and I'm so thrilled that it's mine. Everything is still very much a work-in-progress mess while we unpack everything, move everything to its right place, figure out what goes where, and purchase things that are needed. But once it starts coming together more, I'll share pictures!!

That is a lovely table Cherry! Also I see what you were saying earlier about how red the walls are. Red it not one of my favorite colors, especially not for walls, but that looks like one of the nicer shades.

Eee, everything you have to tell us now a days is is so gosh darn neat, Cherry.
So as I said, new bed. I got some sheets for it at Ikea today as it is a larger size. Just plain white, but it couldn't be helped, as it had to match the pillowcases I got... the ones from schoolhouse electric that I posted a few pages back.

Ok so... I had a big old post written up. Was putting the finishing touches on it... when my attempt to scroll down on my boyfriend's mouse was apparently a bit too similar to swiping right. So it thought I wanted to go back a page... no. Lost everything. THANKS, STEVE JOBS. Let's see if I can retype it all...
Vera - I'm not sure if I would trust it to hold up to that!
Chex - Yeah, it is... super red. @ [email protected] A workable shade, I can figure out how to do the dining room, but it's kind of interfering with the other rooms. Like, the living room is beige, but it opens up into the brick red dining room, and you can also see from it the forest green entry way. Ugh. I have no idea what to do with the living room.
My favorite wall color, though, is the bathroom. It's the first thing I fell in love with when I was looking at the online listing for this place. Instagram won't let me imbed this image for some reason.
Biggles - Oooh, you got the imperfect plus shams? I'm jelly. Those are so neat. It's a shame they don't carry the matching sheets anymore. Although, if you want to get a bit spendy, throwing this at the bottom of your bed would certainly pull the theme together and give it some anchorage.
Have you picked out a duvet yet? Also, what size is your new bed? Enjoying the extra roominess? I love when my boyfriend goes to work in the morning, because then I have an entire Queen Size to stretch out across. So much nicer than my cramped old Twin.

Cherry, that is a luscious green, omg. Also the paint job makes it look like icing and now I wanna lick it.
I've always liked the idea of Gunne Sax clothes, but when I've searched them online I was never drawn to anything I found for sale. I found an absolutely prefect dress while I was out of town though, and I am totally in love with it. Honestly, I am amazed it even fit me, 'cause I'm shorter and curvier than shape those clothes were made for. I don't have a good picture of the dress overall yet, but here is the fabric motif:
I was initially drawn in by the teal and brown colors, and all the white lace it has, but when I realized the pattern was framed portraits of trees, I about died of happiness.

Haha, I hadn't thought of it as icing! I was thinking of the thick impasto used by some artists, particularly Van Gogh.
That's a pretty pattern! I'd like to see the whole dress.

I just found this really neat wall tassel DIY that I thought you fine folks might be interested in. I'm definitely going to have to try this!

It's a full. I don't know about a duvet yet no. I'm kind of at a loss for it. I can always throw a blanket on in the meantime. Yeah, I would like something grey. My curtains are grey, my chair is grey. I have some muted silver wood furniture as well. I was thinking I'd have a pillow made of the fabric I posted previously, as a throw. It should go alright with the pillowcases.

What about that linen duvet from H&M I've been lusting after? It's a nice gray with a lovely texture. Link.
