They told me what they would and wouldn't take... I have a crib and a infant seat that they wouldn't but the clothing that we gave was all in excellent condition! Minus a few possibly... But I am pretty rough on my kids if they are bad to their clothes... >.> A lot of it was knick knacks though

As long as they keep the nice stuff, I don't mind that they throw away some of the stuff.
But there was a $50+ Macy's sweater in the last bag I took to the thrift store.
I don't know, I just HATE clutter so throwing stuff away doesn't bother me. I don't tend to throw away my daughter's stuff as much but I need to get rid of some of her stuffed animals. Ugh.
Also, my cousin Travis is a book hoarder and while I agree that some books are worth saving when the library goes to throw them out, but that doesn't mean you have to bring home twenty boxes of books you don't have room for. x__X;
My uncle is one the verge of throwing out so many of them so I've been going through them and sneaking of books I would hate to see go in the garbage. I may hate John Steinbeck but that doesn't mean a book of like 5 or so of his novels needs to be thrown away. x__X;

I've got a head cold and my kids have been particularly trying today... Today is my husbands long day at work he works a 10 hour shift. And normally we have my best friend and her hubby over on Saturday evening.. But they canceled cause one of her husbands employees quit without notice so he has to work late... D: so now they aren't coming over either... Just kind of one of those days I suppose... I still have 3 more hours until my hubby is home.... And it seems like he has already been gone an eternity!

Glad to hear it got better.
Man, Estrella is POOPED. I can't believe how hard this term is and that I'm already in week 8 (of 10). It's flying by but my grades have not been up to my standards. ;( I am so upset and stressed and I just wanna say SCREW IT!
But I won't do that because this is the best thing I've got going for me, really.

Hey Keyori! Long time no chat, lady. :drool: Partially 'cause I never remember to log into MSN anymore and I only pop onto Mene for a few minutes now and again. Sometimes longer if it isn't dead. I need to go through my subscribed threads more thoroughly because I only visit three or so of 'em. How've you been?

Busy, but now I'm graduated, whee! So, not so busy until mid-february when I get whisked away to do civil service for 10 months :)
And don't feel bad, I haven't been on MSN regularly in a long time either. Hah.
How 'bout you and Star Jr.?

Woohoo, congrats on graduating! Working now, though?
I log in once in awhile but there's never any activity.
We've been good. I finished applying for the two pharmacy programs here and I'm hoping one will let me in. My biggest downfall right now is that I don't have much experience in the field. I shadowed a pharmacist over the summer and she said she'd write me a letter but she never got around to it so I don't know what they'll say about that. If I don't get in I have plans of getting in and spending as much time in a pharmacy as I can manage and reapplying next year.
I just finished one of my hardest terms yet with 3 As and 3 Bs so I'm pretty stoked. I expected a C for one of my classes and I am so effing glad I didn't get one.
Star Jr's doing fine. She has so much energy I don't know where it all comes from. I can't wait for Christmas because I got her a bunch of games that we can play together. I feel like she spent too much time watching TV this last term just because I was so busy. I plan on spending at least an hour each day with her this coming term and I think games would be a better way of doing so than watching TV with her.
She ripped out a chunk of her own hair today which looked really painful. She wasn't crying so it must not have hurt too bad. I think she got it tangled in her hat and then when she couldn't get her hat off she just kept pulling and pulling.

Ouch, sounds like it would hurt, but maybe she just doesn't have a sensitive scalp at all? I know I can tolerate way more hair-tugging than my fiance (we both have long hair). He hates it when I try to brush him. :(
Nope, no work. No one would hire me for just under two months. xD I might volunteer somewhere just to stay occupied, if I have the money for travel expenses, but we'll have to see what my finances look like after the holidays.

Mine's going pretty good. I doubt I'll ever drink very much wine again. I had a glass and a half last night and could NOT get to sleep! I was tossing and turning and everything was making me uncomfortable. Ugh, it was horrible. Made me a grouch this morning so I'm about to go make myself some coffee. How've you been Zasaleen?

Handmade gifts are the best! I was considering doing chicken pot pies for people that they'd just have to pop in the oven.
But I haven't been motivated enough to do the shopping for it. :lol:

We're broke right now, so we're looking for really cheap gifts. I'm getting my dad a book, which should arrive today, his girlfriend is getting a travel mug since she needs one that actually fits in her cupholder, and I haven't figured out what to get my mom or my future mother-in-law yet. We're not getting gifts for anyone else. >3>;;
We start travelling on Friday though! I haven't seen my family in quite a while, so it'll be refreshing.

Ohhh you know what you should do? I have a recipe that is for the dry ingredients for pot pies (I think it is at least) maybe next year you should do something like that where you layer the ingredients and all the recipient needs to do is add liquid and bake ^^
@Keyori... I am not getting gifts this year for Christmas or my birthday... It was kind of my sacrifice for over spending on my kids... My hubby is pretty upset though... :( I made stuffed mice for everyone on the list (well I am working on them) and last year I had made snowman head ornaments that were never given out. The snowmen were really cheap to make actually they are made out of round mint breath freshener containers. The mice were kinda pricey but that is cause I made six of them and bought more stuff then I needed to for them... I am also making polorized fleece scarves hehe... I bought scrap material from the store and it turned out to be JUST the right size for scarves... My brothers are the problems with that.

Keyori - Yeah, I'm actually not broke this year but I didn't spend much on anyone except my daughter. My ex-husband's family drew names this year so I got one of my nephews and my daughter got one of her cousins. So I bought for them. Then I got my cousins (3) and aunt and uncle gift cards. I don't know what to get them so I figure gift cards would be easiest.
Jaz - I still have time to make them and since it's a really simple recipe that turns out to be pretty big, I'd probably only have to make a double batch and I'd have enough for four or five of the tin pie pans. But it's just a matter of going to the store. :sweat: I don't feel like driving into town again. :lol: The roads are still pretty slick. But I know of at least three families that would appreciate them.

I feel like I don't have time to finish anything. My sister, husband and I worked on wrapping gifts last night and got all the normal sized gifts wrapped... I need to finish the scarves I am making the boys for Christmas and wrap them. I also need to finish the grandmother's scarves... Hrmmm... And my dishes are piling up and I haven't gotten to clean the kitchen floor in forever... :( and those all need to be done before I'll allow myself to finish baking... We didn't have any money for Christmas and I mean that in every way possible... We had to put all of Christmas on credit cards... The stuff I made the items I am giving away this year with was bought last year. Or earlier...
I wish I had an idea for my brothers.... :/ or that I wouldn't have made my sister something specific. If I didn't I would have been able to get away with just giving the baked goods and "family" gifts to them... *sigh* my brothers are only into things that cost money... Like Itunes and video games...

I'm sorry Jaz. I know how it is. Normally I'm broke by this time of year and my Christmas goes on credit cards. I got a surprise grant this year, though, so I'm not broke but I'm saving for a potential move next year so I'm trying to not spend a lot of money.
It's hard to shop for expensive people. My ex-husband's brother was that way. And it really wasn't worth buying him anything because he usually wound up selling it anyway. Waste of your time and money.

My fiance is in a crunch this season too. He got denied for his loan for next semester--it's his last one, he's so close to finishing school! :gonk: So he's hassling everyone he can at financial aid to try to find a government loan or some other program or grant so he can get through this last semester.
I'm trying to be really careful as well. I have a little saved up, but I also haven't paid for a lot of our reception expenses yet, and I need to have a little buffer in case the fiance needs an interim loan (between now and the disbursement of a proper loan). I won't get any more income until the end of February, since I won't start my civil service program until mid-February. I feel so unproductive without school or work. D:
I'm also supposed to have my car worked on next week... = 3=;;

I was really late filling for school for this coming semester so I doubt it is going to go through before they charge me another nonrefundable $25 charge... I was putting off school to let my husband go... But he has be such a slacker about it... He could probably finish school in like one semester if his advisor wasn't such a jerk and if he would take more then 2 classes at a dang time.
