"I only saved you because I wanted it to be me to kill you! I-I mean I want it to be me!." He felt anger rising in him fast, but didn't feel able to control it. "I wish you had died! You don't owe me anything because I will end you! Don't you understand that?" He smashed his fist against the wall and then looked back at Yuki fire in his eyes. "I don't care about you okay...understand! I don't care about you!" He pushed him, sending him to the floor. He went to hit him, but something didn't feel right...he looked into the other boys eyes and something inside him didn't feel right. His fist hit the floor next to him, and then Kyo stood up nearly shaking.

Yuki flinched as Kyo's fist slammed into the floor next to where he was laying after having been pushed down. He watched Kyo stand back up. "...I'm sorry... I just wanted to do something nice for you for once..." The rat said softly, cautiously sitting up. He became silent for a short moment before making a big decision. "If you want to kill me, then just do it."

He froze. Hearing those words made everything feel different. This was his chance, maybe his only chance. Kyo threw himself Yuki, a hand around the other boys throat. He knelt there, pushing, watching as he stopped him from from breathing. Then a small mark appeared on his face, and another, and another. Kyo's eyes were wet and the tears were falling down onto Yuki's face. He loosened his grip, confused, something inside him burning. "I-I...can't." He didn't want to seem weak, but he couldn't stop himself crying. He should kill him, he should, but something inside Kyo just wouldn't let him do it.

Yuki panted. Despite the fact that Kyo hadn't been holding onto his throat for long, he still felt the sensation that he could barely breath. His asthma was probably what caused him to be so sensitive. The rat caught his breath after a few seconds and wiped Kyo's tears off of his face. "...Why not?" He finally asked.

He shook his head, not being able to speak for a moment. "I don't have anything. None of us have anything, don't you see?" He stayed there, kneeling, looking down at the ground. "We don't have love, and we don't have a real life. Hating you gives me something, being able to aim towards beating you keeps me going." He stood up slowly still looking down, his eyes a dark shadow. "I hate you, I want to be you, but you're the only thing that gives me a reason to live."

Yuki stared at Kyo, not knowing what to say for a moment. It was true. All this was true. He even knew Tohru's part here: to try to break this curse. She wasn't here because they loved her. She was here because she loved them. But they couldn't love back. They just couldn't. Hugging her only turned them into an animal. What kind of love life would that be? "...You're lucky," Yuki mumbled. "I don't even have a reason to live." He turned away. He honestly didn't. He didn't fight with Kyo because it gave him reason; it was simply self-defense. He didn't hang out with Tohru because it gave him reason; he knew he'd never fall in love with the girl. So what was his reason?

Kyo opened his mouth to shout, but then went back to being quiet. He supposed that it was true, Yuki didn't have anything...all that time he had wanted to be him, wanted to fight for some respect and for his real place in the family, he hadn't realised that once he had achieved it, he wouldn't have anything any more. In a way, by wanting something, he had more then most of those who had shunned him had. "Find one. Find something or someone that you know you can trust." He just shook his head, and turned and walked back to the doorway. "Live...enough for us both."
