Wand was the first to try and make conversation, since he shuffled over to Shiki and tugged on his sleeve. "If my brother's going to join you guys, we should get to know you..." he suggested, seeming curious. "...So...let's all talk about something while we're walking!"

Rand didn't voice his distaste for that...so, he was probably willing to give idle conversation a shot.

Shiki looked down at the little boy, then at his brother, then back at him. He wanted to make sure it was okay with Rand, but he didn't seem to be in any mood for conversation. He smiled at Wand, happy he was looking for conversation on this slightly long walk.
"Sure." He said, thinking of something PG to talk about, "What's your..favorite thing to do?" He asked. He was never really good at topic starters, let alone a tpoic for a person much younger than him. He might as well start with a simple question, rather than something difficult for Wand to think about.

"Well..." Wand tilted his head, thinking. "...Well...I like it when I can spend time with both of my brothers," he murmured, after a long moment of thinking. "I like living with Rand, but...I...I never get to see my other big brother. He lives far away in a different country."

He lowered his voice so that Rand couldn't hear. "He and Rand don't get along. They fight all the time...terribly. It makes me sad..."

Rand's eyes narrowed minutely at the mention of his twin. Rand and his twin, Velonin, were the complete opposites of what twins were supposed to be. They were nothing alike, and quarreled often. They even dressed in a vastly different manner.

Shiki side-glanced at Shiki and noticed that he had an angry sort of aura around him. He quickly looked back down at Wand. "That was like me and my sibling. We never got along and it was too the point where he just up and moved away, and I never saw him. We never talk and I don't even know where he resides, but something in my heart is hoping he's okay." They had now reached the mess hall. Once inside, the band members made a sharp left and picked up trays and picked things out from the buffet, which was usually stocked with good food. Shiki picked up a tray and started to follow the line. "You can take whatever you want." He said, "It's free of charge for all who pay to play and their siblings or friends."

Wand, upon hearing this, rushed to grab a tray and began to pile it with food. Seeing as he and Rand had little money, they rarely ate more than just their typical three meals a day.

Rand's reaction, or lack thereof, was in stark contrast with Wand's. He simply grabbed a tray, and spent a few minutes simply examining what there was to eat before actually stepping in line. He got a bottle of tea, an apple, and an orange...nothing more.

Shiki glanced at the two boys's reactions to the food; Wand seemed to be like he was in nirvana, but Rand looked like he couldn't care less otherwise. He knew that they were slightly on the lower middle class side so Shiki might as well get used to eating more than he had. He looked at Rand and said "The food here isn't like school cafeteria food. It's pretty good and organic and such. Feel free to take more." He smiled and joined the line for hot soup made freshly just before serving.

"I'm fine with just this, thank you." Rand had always felt bad taking more than he should from other people. He didn't like to depend on others...one of the few things he had in common with his twin brother. He didn't take anything else, and instead turned around, looking around awkwardly for somewhere to sit.

He felt so out-of-place.

As Shiki got food he shot a sneaky glance at where Rand had stood, like a lost puppy, looking like he hadn't belonged, and trying to fit in. Suddenly Shiki's worry had stopped when Vikki had approached him. Once he got some soup he want to the salad bar to get a light salad.

Vikki, having great balance, had her food in one hand while she poked Rand's shoulder "You seem lost, new kid." She said "Come, you can sit with us. We need to get to know each other." She finally took her tray with both hands and lead Rand to a clean table in the far corner.

Wand stayed by Rand's side, and followed him once Vikki began to lead him to the back table. He still had his heavy backpack slung over his shoulders, though the extra weight did not seem to bother him in the least.

Rand sat down next to his brother, after Wand sank down and began to dig into his food.

Once Vikki had found their table, she plopped down and started biting and chewing, biting and chewing. She wanted to feel less awkward and started to make conversation until the rest came.
"So, do you guys like it here so far?" She finally asked, after she swallowed a chunk of her salad. "Do you plan coming here another day? I enjoy both of your prescences. You guys seem like cool people to hang out with." She smiled and looked back at what she was skewering with her fork.

Shiki had gotten his food and had started to make his way over to his band's usual table. He didn't see Jake and Adam yet, but saw Vikki, Rand and Wand. He stealthily sneaked up behind Vikki, scared her for a quick second and sat down beside her.

"The only thing Rand enjoys is sitting at home, playing his piano or reading by the big window in his room..." Wand muttered, teasingly, in-between bites of his food. "I like it here! Which means I can drag Rand along whenever you need him."

Rand rolled his eyes, reaching over and grabbing Wand's face, pinching it and shaking it around a bit in creepy resemblance to an overbearing grandmother. "I would be happy to return and assist you."
