The homework is alright. I got myself distracted because I put my voter registration form in the mail today. So, this year I will be voting in the county my school is in.

Gotta find a way to get to the Asian market here. I like me some Asian food. :)

@-Elysium
Haha yeah, it is still limited in regards to the supermarkets we can get it from. Although one that is close to where I live sells it. We have small international sections in our supermarkets. Although these are minimal in size. Usually consisting of a single aisle at the very best.

@serena-
That's pretty awesome. Looking forward to it?

Speaking of voter registration, good gawd did the people at my college bug the living hell out of me to register. I have been registered since the month I turned 18. LEAVE MEH ALONE. >.>

I love Asian food, which is why I've been so happy that legitimate Asian brands are being sold in regular supermarkets here. It's so much easier to get Japanese rice noodles, and fish sauce, etc, that way.

@Crim: You must live in a bit of a hole in the wall not to have had Dr. Pepper until recently.

We only have a single aisle for international foods as well, but it's a rather large aisle. Typically they have a bit of everything with a higher quantity of Mexican and Asian products than anything else. We have a large population of Mexicans here for whatever reason, so that section is quite large (also fun to browse through).

Yeah, I usually get my fix of it from the supermarkets. We have a good amount at the stores on campus because we have a LARGE, and I mean large Asian student population on campus.

I registered the month I turned 18 also. I was so happy when I mailed it in. ^^

I'm surprised I haven't seen that here, I probably just miss it since I work during the day most days, and am in class in the evening. That and I usually am in my apartment.

I try not to drink soda because you know, bad for you and stuff (says the one who also loves ice cream). Dr. Pepper is lovely! I have a bottle of imperial sugar Dr. Pepper. Yummy, yummy.

Crimson - Damn, I was hoping you'd join Pessimists United x3. We're not all that bad. I think one of the largest hurdles we face is the nature of our policies ourselves. Instead of cleansing the rotten core we throw policies at it. I don't often question the sincerity of policy makers, I think they probably want to good, but the results are just as poor as the research that came before. I guess that's why I'm a little bit of a pessimist, I don't count sincerity very highly.

It's going alright, I suppose. A few more car parts came in the mail so I'm excited about this weekend. I'm currently working on converting various talks and speeches from video to audio to put on my iPod. Later this evening I'll be bottling the beer I've been brewing for the past two weeks. Then I'll study, study, study! All in all, a well rounded day. Maybe I'll throw some Borderlands 2 in the midst.

How about you?

@Ser: Asian restaurants are a dime a dozen round here, so I eat at them a lot. I also love to make Vietnamese food. ^.^

Yeah, that's probably why. So far as I can tell they go home by about four or five here. Gets too cold out to try to register people.

ooo I like Vietnamese food. We have a Vietnamese restaurant here. I wanna go. That and a Japanese one too. ^^

Yeah, we're at the point now where it's getting colder out.

@Elysium-
It was because of it not being available in mainstream stores for so long that I initially thought it was an Asian brand.

You are also both luck on that count. I don't think we have a single Vietnamese restaurant here in my city. :/

I only know the one Vietnamese place, but it's delicious, and I know how to make some Viet food from scratch at home.

But the Chinese places, man. There's a hundred of 'em at least.

@Ser: It snowed a bit last Saturday here. Not much, but it was there.

Thai is one thing I haven't found. The Thai I've eaten I didn't like much, though, so I don't mourn that too much...

@admonished-
No idea how I missed that post. It seemed to materialize out of nowhere when I scanned the page. It sounds like you have quite a busy day. I have a pretty relaxed day today. It mostly consists of listening to podcasts, getting some reading in, and watching some supernatural.

@Elysium-
It is a shame we live too far apart for me to ever try your cooking. xD
I am quite fond of the food they have. I can't venture how closely it reflects food from Thailand of course though. :p

Real Thai food is extremely hot, and I don't have much of a tolerance for spicy food. Heck, food that has too much pepper in it makes me have to blow my nose.

@Elysium-
At first I thought you were advising them to eat silly food. I think I am all the more curious to try some real Thai food now as I quite like hot food. I would be interested to know if I could cope.

@admonished -
Even with my little plans, I had a look at the time here and wondered if I would be able to fit it in. I have become an old man of late and am consequently accustomed to going to bed between nine and ten pm each night. I had a quick look at my podcast subscriptions to see what had new episodes. I will probably get through Radio New Zealand: Focus on Politics, The Young Turks, and Democracy Now. While you didn't ask I will look at getting further in two books. Anthropology, Politics, and the State as well as Complexities: Beyond Nature and Nurture.

@nonsense: I am afraid that it would take a couple of days to ship anything to Texas. XD As such, I suggest you demand your girlfriend get to the kitchen and make you a sammich. ;)

@Crim: Thai food I think is the most notoriously hot food in the world. If you can find the real stuff I bet it'd give you a run for you money.

Have you ever had Indian food? If you go to a traditional Indian place that asks you "mild, medium, or hot" the hot curry will clear up even the worst of colds.

@Elysium- Yeah, we have a few Indian places in my city. I am quite fond of Indian food. I usually opt for Indian hot. Although having never been to India I can not verify how accurate that option is.

I had a friend from India when I was a little girl. I've always been sad I moved away from her, because I'm sure the authentic Indian food would've come my way at some point if I hadn't. T_T

Indian food is one of my favorites, though. Especially the Naan and fresh Chai teas.

You are quite possibly the first person whom I have seen refer to their younger self in such a manner. That being said, it is a shame that you moved away from her. There is always the option of going to India? You could even be all Psychological Anthropologist like and do an ethnography there. ;p

Lol, really? Actually liking one's childhood must be rare, then.

And nah, there's no reason to be so sneaky about it. I'll just save the money and drag some poor sap along with me eventually. India itself has never been the highest on my list of "places to go," though.

Haha I was referring more to the vocabulary. I am more used to people phrasing it "when I was young/er." Or you could convince some to come to you. ;)

Ahh, okay. I talk about my childhood in that way quite a bit. I do say "When I was younger" as well, but not very often due to the fact that I'm already young, so using the word young in any form is strange to me.

Indeed--the next Indian person I see is screwed.

@Elysium-
I find it a very interesting way of referring to your past self. I am almost tempted to say it is cute, if it doing so did not run the risk of sounding so patronizing. xD

I laughed at the prospects for that undisclosed Indian person. :P

Lol, I'm sure you don't mean anything by it, so it's not patronizing.

Yup. That poor Indian boy's going to be locked in the kitchen making me Naan for years to come. ;P
