I like the little day trips like this, I used to do them at my old college. But, at least I didn't have over millions of things to do :/

I go back and forth. But, I fell in love with this thing when one of my fave roommates had one. when we both went to bed at the same time, she'd turn it on. :)
I like it since it's not too bright, it's light enough to comfort me and lull me to sleep.

Yeah, I needed something like that as a kid. I was so deathly afraid of the dark. Now I don't like sitting in it, but I can sleep in it and I prefer to.
I had to stop watching Walking Dead for the night. That is not a show that I can just sit and watch back to back no matter how good it is.

It makes me gasp and half scream every now and then, but honestly it doesn't creep me out too much at all. I get scared by real life things like serial killers and stuff, but let's face it. Zombies don't exist, and they cannot exist. Not in any flesh-eating, come back from the dead movie sense. Sure, I can see arguments that there could be a disease that could kill off the brain except for the stem and people could be vegetables or just walking pieces of meat, but things simply do not come back to life and eat you. Sorry.
So long story short, it's so implausible that I can watch it without getting too scared. It's just watching too many eps in a row that seeing all the blood and guts really makes me want to hurl.
That sounds awesome to me. I would really love to go out and buy a new robe and nightie set too. My old robe is still in fine shape, but I've never liked how it looks and I've had it for so long I don't even remember when I bought it...

That's what I'm creeped out by is all the blood and gore ^^" There's too much of it for me to be able to watch without feeling bleh
Yeah, I've wanted to get stuff like that for awhile, so I finally got around to getting something nice for myself. Now for it to get here soon, taht would be awesome. ^^

We may not ever have George A. Romero zombies but we're only a mutation or a lab experiment away from a zombie land. Thanks to toxoplasmosa gondij, or neurotoxins, or the voodoo zombies in Haiti, some neurogenesis, or maybe someone can just play with some Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (that's where my money is), or self-replicating nanobots. I bet the Russians already have a 28 Weeks Later rage virus in the works. We're only one brain chemical (serotonin) away from turning into mindless killing machines anyways (we've already tested it too, with rats! It works.)
If you haven't already, I'd invest in a shotgun and a machete.

@Ser: I'm the chick that sat through all the seasons of Spartacus and hardly blinked an eye, and I also love all the super hero movies, and 300, etc, so I'm more tolerant than a lot of people to that stuff. But yeah, I don't blame you. I mean I admitted to the blood and guts getting to me in The Walking Dead. >.> It's the intestines. Seeing someone disemboweled always makes me sick.
Hehe, I hope you like it as much in person. :)
@Nonsense: Meh, I've read about all those things and I'm not worried about it. Like I said they'd just turn you into a mindless vegetable--which is bad, yeah. But we wouldn't have things eating us. The nanobots are creepy, though. I do hope they take precautions with that shit.
The serotonin research they've done on rats has never been to develop something that would turn humans into rage machines, it's to help people with depression and to try to find cures for schizophrenia and antisocial personality disorder, etc. They're just trying to replicate the phenomenon so that they can cure it. Only in a truly dystopian society would we end up with nutters injecting serotonin into people to turn them into rage machines. And even then they wouldn't be able to spread it through air like a virus.

As per the shotgun, I don't want that kind of stuff in my house. I've spent too many years as a psych student, and the suicide rates involved with having guns around are disgusting. Plus the murder rates, and what not. Just not interested.

Elysium - We can only hope. The biotechnology industry though, that's really cool. The environmentally friendly bio-herbicides, microorganisms that can break down garbage and toxic waste, or the Danish company that genetically engineered a plant that turns red when it comes in contact with nitrogen dioxide and because buried landmines release nitrogen dioxide you can find those buried landmines.
Unfortunately we already have scientists being paid to create all sorts of terrifying things. Like that modified strain of H5N1 that's more or less terrifying to read about. I wonder what else the National Institutes of Health are paying people to make... I'm hoping its something like flying cats and not viruses that create wormholes and eat everyone. I'd like to be able to hack/shoot/beat a psychical monster, not one floating around the air.
I do agree that every time someone uses a firearm wrongfully (murder, crime, suicide) it is a tragedy. On the hand I do believe that the benefits far outweigh the costs. I am currently writing a paper that addresses and backs up my previous statement that I can link when it's completed. There's also that mess I made in the critical discussion. Anyways, I disagree and I'll like that (for now... dundundun)

Mhmm, I agree. All of the things they're coming out with are really cool. I don't like it when they mess with herbicides, etc, because somehow they always end up causing people to get cancer or something that's just as bad, but it would be great if in the process they came across a herbicide that doesn't have those kinds of effects. The microorganisms that you mentioned are so greatly needed.
Yeah, I worry about scientists playing God like that. You'd hope the modified H5N1 was created to be put into a vaccine to save lives instead of take them, but I somehow doubt it. If they're going to genetically modify animals I wish they'd do something cool like modify foxes in a way that could make them into loving domestic house pets. I could abide by that, but genetic splicing and things...yuck.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for the banning of firearms (Assault rifles are a different story) but I just don't want the stuff in my house. I live with depressed people. Enough said.

Oh nice! Sounds like fun!
Wish I could go somewhere nice like that. ^^"
Now I'm back to freaking out... Yeah it's only 10% of my grade. But it's something so easy and such. I went to go hand in this quiz for one of my classes that was due at 11.59p. It was before 11.59, the computer lagged, when it would let me again, the time was midnight and the link to the dropbox was gone.
Could not hand in quiz.
Sent prof an e-mail about it with the quiz attached.
Will find out tomorrow if she'll accept it because of the computer issue...
Knowing this professor... Maybe. I dunno.
I spent a few minutes looking for the link, crying, freaking out, and going insane
So not with it. There went my semi-good day. :/

Yeah, we haven't been on a vacation in about 8 years, so we're going to try to find something down in the Caribbean, but since we've never left the U.S. we need an agent to get us on our feet.
Ach, people have trouble like that all the time. The fact that your quiz was attached to your e-mail should prove that you had the issue and get it accepted for you.

She wanted us to hand it in via the blackboard dropbox link. I wasn't able to and I sent her an e-mail 8 min past the due time ^^" Hopefully she accepts it
Oh nice. I can't remember the last time I've been on a vacation like that. Hopefully I get to go away for awhile sometime this year.

Has she ever come off as having Nazi tendencies?
We've been to both of the Disneys in the U.S., and that's it. Never had any vacations bigger than that. They're awesome, but we all want to go to someplace luxurious once as a family at least.
I hope you can get somewhere too. :) I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging, I'm just excited.

Yeah, I'd like something cool like that too. ^^ I'm sure we'll get to sometime. I know we're planning on going to Finland in a few years or so. ^^
