@Sarof - I didn't mean to imply that you (or any other Christian) loves exclusively because of their faith, but simply that I find it off-putting that so many people feel the need to justify why they love at all.

In my case it's not justification. I'm more trying to show what it is I think all Christians should do. The Bible says, Love thy neighbor as thyself. And it really bothers me that that verse is forgotten so often. Especially since Jesus said it himself.

I see where you're coming from. I hope people can look to you as a positive example of a human being. :)

Indeed. If we all just tried to judge others a little less, and give everybody a chance, we'd be much better off.

I think that's what Jesus was going for you know? And so many people say they follow him, but they either forget or ignore what he said. How does that even work?

@Ely - Unfortunately, we've more or less built a world in which that's not really practical. You simply interact with too many people to not judge. I don't think people need to judge less, just be more willing to assess and change their judgments. I mean, think of all the people you see in passing every day. You do make a judgement about them (whether or not you're cognizant of it), and that's okay. Just, when evidence to the contrary is provided, you need to be willing to change your thinking.

Mhmm.

It's such a hard world we live in now. Everyone is so cut off from everyone else, and afraid of strangers. We don't know any of the neighbors where we live, and I live in a small town, currently. The kind of place where people used to know everybody's business just because it was possible.

@sea: That's how I work. I make a judgement when I see a person, but I'm ALWAYS willing to change the judgement the second I meet a person or they prove me wrong.

I always try to get to know people. I never judge whether they are a bad person or not, just if I should hang out with them. lol. Which is totally different. There's a lot of people I care for, who I try not to hang with, because we argue about stuff.

I just tend to judge how they interact with people, how they dress, etc. I've had enough crazy people in my life that I know it's important to make mental notes about people to try and avoid new ones.

People are rarely what you judge them to be, however, so it's just a tentative..."holy shiz, that dude has 20 piercings on the right side of his nose alone...maybe I should avoid him," kind of thing. Some of my best friends look like that, though, lol.

I've gotten pretty good at picking out the people who are depressive, black clouds of hell, though...so I avoid them. And that's about it.

@Black: DISNEY STUFF. I luffs it. :D

I kind of wish I personally knew everyone I talk to on Mene. It makes the posts so much better to be literally able to hear how you would say that in conversation.

I know. Lol. I just hear a bunch of different made up voices in my head. XD

----------

You can picture me as having a pretty sarcastic voice, though, lol. And I laugh at all the jokes I crack. It's how I am.

The voices I make up for people tend to go with their avatars/pictures that they post. Sometimes I hear chibi voices, etc.

You too, saro? I lapse into it when I tell jokes or when I'm making fun of something ridiculous. Or...just for the hell of it sometimes.

I've been all over the U.S. Haven't really gotten up into the north-east corner, though.

----------

Oh...I have a British accent for two days straight every time I watch a British movie.

I think the North East is an interesting little corner. Different kind of feeling than a lot of places.

I don't necessarily lapse, but my accent is quite impressionable. For example, I've only been in Rochester, New York for 5 months, and I'm starting to pick up the accent. I'm fighting it, but it's a hard battle.

*nod* I'll trek my little tooshie up there one day. I think it's gorgeous. I had considered Yale out of interest (I could've gotten in had I done a few more extra-curriculars), but only momentarily. I LOVE their library, though.

I know that if/when I decide to spend my semester/year abroad in Britain, I'll come back with an irreversible accent.

Which schools do you guys go to? I'm at Denver Metropolitan... well they're changing it to Denver State University actually, which makes little sense, since Denver is not a state.

So, it snowed another 5 inches today, just after ALL the snow had melted. Ugh.

Edit: I go to The Culinary Institute of America. It's in Hyde Park, NY.

Seriously. Right? Saro. So stupid. I'm currently in FRCC in Fort Collins. Gonna transfer to CSU, most likely, in a couple of years. Then somewhere else after that, for med school. If I decide that's my path.

And, no snow here. Just WIND. Could. not. sleep. through. it. last. night.

I just had thought it was over. And I mean, some people were legitimately angry over it (which seems silly to me, because it's just the weather, and that's something that being angry with won't make a difference), but I was a little disappointed. Now I have to shovel tomorrow. Or pay the plow guy. I'll probably shovel; I'm pretty spectacularly broke, haha.
