I try my best to be completely honest with people, even if they don't want to hear it. I am incapable of giving myself completely to anyone and I don't know if I ever will and most people have no idea what a big it is for me to tell them anything at all.

@Saro: I don't like being very close with anyone in general, even my "close" friends, but I really don't see a point in bending over backwards for someone unless you've been together for a good while and are in love. Do I do things for my guy now? Every once in a while, yes. I think it's stupid that people tend to expect their SO's to go all out from the get go. Um, no. You're going to work for that damn box of chocolates. Besides, if you just want someone to do shit for you, get a sugar daddy and a maid. I don't expect much from my men and if they expect anything from me, well too fucking bad :P

Mhmm. Generally you can see those kinds of people from a million miles away (the ones who cheat) but every now and then you get blindsided.

And, indeed. That's why I date people too. My mum keeps giving me crap for not dating anyone lately because she saw how happy I was when I was with my last bf. I just...cannot be happy jumping from guy to guy to get a "happy" fix. Take that as you will. XD

@Vix: What I expect from my men is love. I don't call them my boyfriend until I've been with them for awhile and do love them. You're very right. "You have to work for that box of chocolates." I like that. Though, on a slightly unrelated topic, I HATE getting gifts from SO's....or anybody. Always have, always will.

I'm a "take me out to a sculpture park or for coffee and a movie on my birthday" kind of girl. I don't do material things as signs of love. Period, and end of story.

I'm not used to getting gifts in general. Don't really do that in my family and never really had any guys I dated give me anything meaningful. Hell, they never even bothered to take me anywhere. I date losers. I'm definitely an "actions speak louder than words" kind of girl but gifts are usually the easy way out. I'm with you, I'd rather have some kind of meaningful experience and make some memories...Or awesome facebook pictures.

The best thing you can give me is time and affection. I've gotten roses and a box of chocolates before, but not from a bf. Lol. From a good friend who has a crush on me...I'm not attracted to him, though. Personality-wise or physically, in a romantic sense.

Wow. Those guys do sound like losers. I'm a pretty "we're going dutch no matter what," person. I guess I really hate the idea of being in debt to people, but I think the guys should be responsible for a little somethin' somethin' on V-day and your birthday. Girls should do the same. V-day included.

Memories last, gifts don't. Give me something to look back on and smile about on a cold, sad, night. Those things are priceless to me.

Yeah I don't see why so much pressure is put on men for things like Valentine's Day. She's part of the couple too so she should put forth just as much effort. We didn't do anything. I had dumped him two weeks earlier and we didn't get back together until two weeks ago.

I love doing sweet little things for people on v-day. I've gotten presents for my friends every year for my entire life (except for this year, sadly) on v-day. I mean...especially with the boyfriends...seriously...go get some lingerie and light a candle. He'll be happy. Haha. Not that hard.

Awh. At least you didn't dump him on V-day.

I've never had the luck of having a boyfriend on Valentine's Day. Always either a date that didn't work out the week before, or broke up a couple of months before and was too sad to go out and get a date.

"Not that hard." <-- With some lingerie, I beg to differ ;)

I didn't want to dump him at all but it had to be done to get him to get his shit together.

ROFL. One would hope!

Yeah. Every now and then it rings true that "distance makes the heart grow fonder."

See, I can't do too much distance. I'm a visual kinesthetic. I have to see and touch. I don't think more than a month without so much as a hug would be good for me. lol. I'd die.

Ah, yeah. Distance is fun.

I got out of a long distance relationship what...four months ago now? That lasted for five months.

They're really difficult. You start understanding why people cheat when you're in one.

My family has never been real touch feely, so around them I'm not...but when I get a boyfriend...I just want to be held and cuddled all the time, and I love seeing their face, etc. So yeah...never doing long distance again. Shit about killed me. I'm half serious about that. >.>

I'm not super touchy-feely unless I'm really close to someone so I'm fine. I don't like the whole distance thing but it just kinda happened. I never planned on anything happening between us, much less loving the guy. Neither one of us did.

----------

Let's see, we dated for about five months before I dumped him for two and have been together again to two weeks so 5.5 months total?

I doubt anybody ever plans on having a long-distance relationship. When I got into the one I had it was just...damn...I'd never loved somebody like that before.

He was everything I'd ever wanted and much more than I'd ever expected I'd be able to get. I wouldn't give up that experience for anything in the world even though it ended up hurting so much when it was over.

He showed me that what I want does exist...and that I both have the ability to love and be loved. I'd lost that a couple years before I met him.

That's how I feel about my last ex, although that wasn't long distance. One day she just said it didn't feel right anymore, and she left me. Oh well. Life goes on.

I'm surprisingly okay when it comes to breakups. Sure I cry and bitch but I have too much shit to do to let it take over my life and thus I get over it and move one quickly. I'm glad I do, too.

I should get to bed though, supposed to be grabbing brunch and playing board games with some friends tomorrow. Goodnight!

My break up was really hard on me. I literally shut down for about three months. I'm just now beginning to be okay with moving on. I mean...I kept everything in my life going (school), but some friendships suffered. They were just beginning friendships, though...so I still have my oldbies, which are the ones that matter.

Life does go on, though, and I'm okay with things right now.

Goodnight, Vixxy. :)

I'm sorry your breakup was so hard. At least you didn't have to comfort your ex via phone for the next two weeks. :) my life is wonderful that way. lol. Anyways. I must also sleep. I has church tomorrow, and maybe hanging out with friends. Never sure. lol.

Talk to you later. :)

...hm... you seem... nice. I'm not used to that.

Um...actually I did have to comfort him. >.> Had to tell him all the reasons that it couldn't work between us that I didn't believe because he wanted me to.

Lol. I'm nice? Haha. I try...since people should be. :)

Goodnight Monsieur Saro.

They're like this all the time. If they were only like this ont he weekends, it wouldn't be such a problem. But it's 24/7. Makes me wish real life had a mute button. Or at least a language censoring thingy.

grad school; something I'm hoping to do myself.

And the cops just got called on some of the people in my dorm. Why must I live with these people?

Gotta love college life. I hate most of the freshmen in my building. Well, most of the freshmen from this year in general, obnoxious little bitches. Learn how to hold your damn liquor and shut the fuck up. It's like we have packs of wild hyenas roaming campus.
