No. XD
I was afraid they'd close the ride!
It was funny. The last time, I was with my friend and I yelled "OH COME ON!" and then I had to explain why I was yelling.

Isn't it like illegal for them to have a tree branch that low over their ride? It's a safety hazard. lol.

Lol. Saro, if you ever saw Silver Dollar City you'd know why it isn't such a surprise that they wouldn't know their trees were beheading people on their roller coasters. :XD

Nah. It's in Missouri. I just know about it because I've been there twice and spent quite a bit of vacation time in Missouri for some reason.

Exactly! Bible says honor your father. Says nothing of liking him. He's not my kind of person you know? I mean I probably wouldn't be friends with the guy if we just met somewhere. Therefore I don't have to try to like him because he knocked up my mom twenty plus years ago and then abandoned her like a jack wagon. I forgive him for not being there for me, and for never giving me anything he promised to. I forgive him for breaking promises to me. I can't forgive him for what he did to my mother though. It wasn't done to me, and it's not my place.

For some reason I'm actually having a bit problem forgiving my dad for breaking promise after promie after promise. He and my mom were actually married when I came around (thank the GODS they're finally divorced; most of the last eleven years they were fighting almost constantly), but when my dad lost is job when I was a kid he was making all sorts of promises; first it was getting my ears pierced, then dance lessons, martial arts lessons, music lessons, even swimming lessons. Of all those promises, the only thing that happened was getting my ears pierced. I've given up on all the rest, so now I don't give a flying rat's ass if I ever know how to dance or play an instrument or even swim.

You... You don't know how to swim?
I don't understand that. I mean it came completely naturally to me. I've never understood how someone could need lessons.

Silver Dollar City is...well that roller coaster anyway goes out into a very forested area. Its really fun, it plays on the hillbilly theme a lot which can get a bit annoying, but its cool. And there's a very pretty church there.
I have a lot of issues with my dad; we live in the same house and barely talk. I have my reasons, and they're valid.
Taiyo...you can't swim? You should get someone to teach you, because you should know in case you need to know someday.
I don't remember not being able to swim, I think I've always been able to. My parents have baby pictures of me in water. I love swimming! I worship the water lol. I can't wait for it to be a little warmer. Kita is going to jump into a creek. :eager:

See you have creeks. We only really have pools to swim in. Not that creeks are safe anymore what with the chemicals and the runoff and all.

Well, pools are too expensive. D:
I've been playing in rivers and ponds and creeks forever and I have nothing wrong. I just try to make sure I never swallow any water and I always shower when I come home. O_o
Blah. Whatcha doing? I'm listening to Seether...and reading.

Okay, this is EXACTLY why I don't admit I don't know how to swim! It's embarassing! Not being able to ride a bike isn't so bad, but not being able to swim is outright SHIT!!!
And I do have a friend of mine who'd be willing to teach me how to swim, and I've even asked her if she would teach me, but there's just one problem that we both hate; there's literally no place where we can go swimming for free. And we're both broke.
I must be the only person on my campus and on Mene who can't swim........

Oh, its not that bad! I was just saying you should learn somehow for your own safety, is all. I didn't mean to make you feel bad.
I can't ride a bike, if that makes you feel better?

Why didn't this thread show up in my subscription box at 4:30? It just showed up now and I've missed fifteen posts!!!! URGGGH.
Swimming is one of those things that you just...well...get into the water and paddle. Not that hard, it'll come easily to you when you actually get a chance to try. :)
I couldn't ride a bike until I was like...ten...I just didn't give a shit so I didn't try.
As per the concept that you wouldn't have been friends with your parents if you weren't forced into the relationship, yeah. That's my family, too. They're okay, but I wouldn't have chosen them. Still. They're both still in my life, and they're married (that may or may not last past the time I move out, however).

@ sarof: My campus has two pools actually, but I'm still rather humiliated about admitting that I don't know how to swim. I've got a swimsuit, but I haven't so much as put a toe in the water because of the fact that I do NOT want to let anyone know that I can't swim. Gossip tends to move reeeeally fast on a college campus.
@ Kit: Again, not knowing how to ride a bike isn't as embarassing.
@ Ely: I never got many chances to get in the water and paddle. It really doesn't help that I've got a rather dense body structure either...makes floating harder........

Floating basically consists of holding your body really still and relaxing. I'm sure your college campus has better shit to gossip about than the idea that you're just now learning how to swim. I wouldn't worry about it too much. :)

I don't get why someone would make fun of you for learning how to swim though? I mean, y'all aren't 12-year-old kids are you? Anyway, I wouldn't worry about them. If you want to do it, then to hell with the people who are immature enough to mock you.
And not being able to ride a bike has kind of sucked big time for me. But I haven't even had a bike for years...

I don't give a shit what anybody says, man. Riding a bike is hard. I didn't learn till I was ten because I was so damn afraid of it. I think my reasoning was valid too, lol.
And, although it's a bit late and saro's gone to bed...I'd like to point out that there are plenty of creeks and streams, rivers, and lakes to swim in in Colorado.....in Denver...shit no...but in Colorado, yes.

There's not a lot of safe, swimmer-friendly creeks where I am. Or at least ones that you won't get arrested for swimming in.

Ah yeah. It's the same around here. The places I was talking about are all in the mountains where cops don't give a shiz. My family has a speed boat that we take out a lot in the summer, also, so I spend a lot of times at lakes using those swim beaches, etc.

Well...technically I'm not supposed to swim in the creek that I swim in. :ninja:
No one cares though and everybody and their dog chills there. XD;
They tell you not to swim in it, in the paper every summer, but no one cares.
Just...you gotta watch out for the snakes. And snapping turtles. But they pretty much hang out by the banks.
I got my toe bit by a fish (I take my shoes off but I'm not supposed to...) and jumped into an overhanging tree because it freaked me out!
