Ely: And again, the actual mutations come from any source of energy. A burn from the stove will do it. The problem comes when your white blood cells don't kill the mutated cell before it multiplies.

I'm sorry you've lost people to cancer, but you know what so have I. I know more about it than most M.D's and honestly that's not hard.

Well, that may be true, but I think it's safe to say that you're exposed to the sun's energy more than you are to any other form of energy...well...unless you're hooked up to your cellphone all day. That might win out for some people over the sun.

----------

Oh. @Kitami: I don't particularly care if someone wears it every day, but I will rip your ass to shreds if you think you're coming out onto my boat without wearing it.

Also your microwave, fluorescent lights, computers, etc. And let's not forget the massive amount of radio waves passing through you every second of every day. And the bits of the light spectrum not blocked by sunscreen which are far more dangerous in some instances.

the thing is that a tan protects you from such things beautifully. The trick is to get one without getting burnt first. It's difficult, but it's a natural way of avoiding skin cancer all together.

Where we live it's important to use sunscreen because we have so much less atmosphere between us and the giant nuclear explosion in space that lights the planet. lol. But getting a little sun is good for you.

And I don't ever mean to sound like I'm attacking you or anything. I just really like debate, and such and... I get enthusiastic.

I just got bitched out by an ex of mine because I don't wear sunscreen every time I go to check the bloody mail. So I studied all of this to make her stop. lol.

Kita: Practically. She wanted me to wear it on parts that weren't going to be exposed. It was an obsession.

@Saro: Don't worry. I know we're just debating. :) If this was an argument I'd probably have lost my temper and shot you by now as I have a bad temper at times. You know when I think you're attacking me.

And...your ex...that's a little insane.....

Yeah. We are exposed to those every day, but I would argue that we are exposed to the sun more than that. As per the microwave...they don't leak the energy they use unless they're broken. A way to find out if your microwave is working correctly is to put your cell in it and then call it. If it rings, then you need a new microwave pronto.

@Kita: Mhm. I actually told the friend, who I mentioned a few pages back, that if she didn't wear sunscreen she wasn't ever getting on my boat again. You're in a friggin' reflecting pond with noon-time sun that isn't even being filtered through a single cloud. You WILL get third degree burns if you stay out there for more than half an hour without sunscreen.

----------

*cough* I rephrase. She was really insane.

Saro:: That's just...odd. o_o;

Ely:: If your microwave IS working, would your cell be okay? I mean like, it wouldn't...explode...or something, would it? :XD

You don't turn the microwave on, you just put your cell in, close the door, then call it to see if it rings.

Fun fact: you can put metal into microwaves, it just can't have any "edges." So, for example, you can put a spherical metal ball into a microwave, turn it on, and there will be no reaction. :D

The radio waves are a constant thing, and due to the lack of lead paint in our houses anymore (not a bad thing) they just move on through. ...Know what's really freaky? If you focus and you have good hearing you'll get a slight hum. According to some studies that might actually be you hearing the radio waves. XD

Radio waves come from:
Radios
Cell Phones
WiFi
etc.
anything of the kind.

Another fun fact. Microwaves do not cook with microwaves. lol. They use Radio waves to vibrate water molecules creating heat.

All I know about microwaves is that I put china in it once (that had gold trim) and I nearly destroyed the microwave. >_>

Well, I'd like to believe that's the weird buzzing noise that I hear when all is silent, then. And, I knew that one!!! :squee: Haha.

@Kita: Lololol. I put tinfoil in a microwave once, on accident, and turned it on for a couple of seconds. I heard the first zap, freaked, and turned it off.

Want a fun time? Get a cheap crappy microwave from like a garage sale, and put a CD in it. :) ...Do not stand close, and keep flammable objects away. It's basically fireworks in there.

...Actually it's pretty dangerous, you should just look up videos on youtube.

I never do dares that I think will cause me pain, but one of my exes got dared to do it, and he did it. It looked rather painful.

I have and it hurt. I think it has to do with the nerves in your mouth and how sensitive they are though.
