King. I didn't want the Queen at the time. O_o
I won this in the quest raffle a long time ago.

Ah. Lucky lucky. I figured. That's how most people get theirs. It's as bad as trying to get a halo on Gaia. I don't like the queen crown either, it's a little small, and awkward.

Evening.

How is everyone?

I might write my dissertation on Roald Dahl. Just thought I'd share. >.>
I'm sure there's things to explore there.

Thank you, I like yours... I might change mine to something more summery, based on stuff I have... I never have much gold, so if I want some new commons, I sell unwanted commons at the usual loss.

He was my favourite author as a child, and he's so dark... I bet if I read the books again, I'd pick up on a lot more.

Ah yeah. Sounds like how I reacted to Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame when I went back and watched it again. I had been extremely unaware of how disturbing and sad that movie was when I was a little girl.

I have usually got some gold on hand and I try to never sell anything. Right now I'm saving up to buy a Midas Touch, though, so this is the only avi I can make right now that makes me happy despite all the other stuff I own. Haha.

Going to make some dinner for the family, be back in awhile.

I like that movie, but when I was little I never liked the bit where he gets pelted with rotten fruit.
It is an adaptation of a Victor Hugo novel, so comparatively, it's very light!

It seems that much of the writing on Roald Dahl's fiction is about distribution of power.

I'm making Mexican myself. Trying to produce taco seasoning out of thin air by using a bunch of different ingredients I have lying around.

I love simple meals like that. I'm really fond of just cooking some plain beans and some rice, then covering it with cheese for dinner. I like stuff that takes very few ingredients to make. It's the best.

Yahhhh. The Disney Hunchback was extremely cooled down compared to the real Victor Hugo. I disliked it when I was young because of the darkness, but I now love it for its darkness. It wasn't a "happily ever after" tale. You know? But it still had some happiness to it.

Salt, black pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, and I think... chili powder.

Lol, thanks. A person I know posted it on facebook and I gigglesnorted then acknowledged the truth of it, so thus it ended up in my signature. :D

Dude...that is totally what I used to the T except for the oregano (my family isn't fond of the stuff).

Not Mexican then? lol. That spice shows up in almost all of their food for some reason.

...Like Italian food and basil.

Lol. The smell and the taste doesn't do much for us. If it's in there as an accent it's okay, but if it's the major flavor of an item we won't touch it. It's the same with coconut. Nobody in our family will eat coconut. And I mean nobody.

My dad won't eat basil or cilantro, but I like it. Italian food is my favorite.

Oh? Shiny. I like Italian, but nothing in a red sauce. Can't handle tomatoes. I'm slightly allergic. I get little red bumps in my mouth. :(

I'm a good cook though when I do it. I'm great with pasta, and soup especially. My stew is delicious. My friend has dreams about it. lol.

I'm good with all forms of pasta, but I have never tried to make a soup. It is on my list. I can cook anything you give me a recipe for, and I can postulate the ingredients to most things and make a good copy. The thing I'm best at is fettuccine alfredo, and hot chocolate. My best friend begs for my hot chocolate every time she comes over when it's cold. :)

I used to hate tomatoes, but I'm beginning to enjoy them quite a bit. I do prefer cream sauces to tomato sauces, though. I hate all things marinara.

I prefer tomato sauces to cream sauces!

I made quite an indulgent pasta sauce the other day. You fry sausage meat in onion, butter, white wine and parmesan. (With rosemary and nutmeg)
Tasty.

Tomorrow I'm gonna make a prawn curry. It's nice that the only fresh ingredient you have to buy is the prawns. (and I've got those in the freezer, so!)
I wonder if the red pepper is still good. But green pepper would work better.... I might buy some.

You flatter me xD
I don't cook much, this is a very good week for me. Usually I'm too lazy.

My mum has a big collection of recipe books (she doesn't use most of them) and I got some recipes from those, I also use the BBC website: BBC - Food - Recipes

It has a massive catalogue of recipes, and the search engine is very handy.
Some are fancy, some are so easy. There's a "quick and easy" box to tick in the search options. (Ready in under 30mins)

I think we're lucky to have it, but we do pay for it with the license fee.
