We didn't have a choice. It was either 3D or don't do animation. We didn't have a teacher for 2D, and our school was already losing budget for the curriculum. >>

awww! Sadnesss. Ya, a lot of schools only offer 3D animation. A huge part of why I really pushed for this school was that it was one of the few I could find that offered specials in more than that. Just looking at light tables makes my heart jump for joy. :3

Well... see I didn't really want to do animation as much as I wanted to do comic books and story boards. So for me it wasn't about the degree as much as it was gaining an understanding of the processes involved in film-making.

ahh Indeed. That makes sense. And for your purposes, either way would have been fine.

My choices were animation and film. And animation was part of the art school. Sooo... no contest. xD

haha totally. Animation's pretty spiffy, too. And you probably have enough skill with it to use it at your leisure now as well.

Well... I would if I had a more powerful computer and a copy of the software. I can get free modeling programs, but the only computer I have is a laptop and... running that AND photoshop? That's just asking for it. xD
First thing I do when I start seeing cashflow from my personal work is buying an awesome computer. =3=
EDIT:
Just heard back from one of the publishers I submitted to. At least they sent me an email to tell me they didn't like my stuff.

YESS! lol Same. Once I have my own place. ...Or..well, more than likely I'd be after a supercomputer FIRST. I'd live in my mom's basement a few more years if I needed to.
Awww! I'm sorry! Well, at least you did hear back. I hate it when I never even get an email telling me I'm not wanted. I'd rather hear that than know I've been ignored completely.

Well... currently I'm saving up to get out of Indiana. Its expensive out there in the world... ._.
Yeah... well... at this point I'd pretty much resigned myself to self-publishing anyhow. Its rare that someone just /gets/ a publisher.

lol! I'd never ask for that for christmas. I'd rather get it on my own and feel almighty and powerful. xD Not that any of the things I am asking for are any better (music boxes? >.> )

People never know quite what to get me. My tastes are either VERY practical, really expensive, or intangible. xDD

well..that's about the same for me. Honestly, I don't think I'm THAT hard to please. But my dad seems to have a different idea of what's an ideal gift (anything he's already getting for somebody else) than I do (a pair of nice earrings, sturdy boots or a good book). Every year he asks for a wishlist, and every year he manages to completely avoid everything on it and get me stuff I've specifically said I do not want simply because he's already getting it for one of my siblings. -__-"

That's both funny and lame.
My parents aren't too bad about it. They know the staples: money, gift cards, kitchen appliances, art supplies. Occasionally I get "I liked this CD/movie/book, so I think it should be yours now!"

ahh. My mom's pretty good about it. She knows all the things I like and even if she can't get me something in particular that I want, she'll still get me something I love. I'm just kind of at the point where I'm like "I don't really care if you guys get me anything or not. I'd be happy with cookies and hot cocoa. But if you insist on getting me something, please put some actual effort behind it." 'Cause there's nothing I hate more than false affection, which is all I feel I get from my dad sometimes. It drives me crazy that he still needs help to pick out a present for me even though I'm 20 years old. He should at least be able to figure: she likes purple, she likes to read, she likes dragons and then go from there.
But whatevs. I'm just glad that tomorrow I'll be safe and sound back home with my family. :3

Ah well... sometimes people can be dense. My mom knows I like sparkly things and looking pretty. That's pretty much what she goes on. I'm getting her Buddhist Christian literature because she just came to a revealing conclusion about her spirituality. =]

I'm getting a Sansa Fuze, which is an MP3 player. I'd like a laptop, but that's not in the budget since my Mom just lost her job and I have no job.

I have a 9am seminar tomorrow, it's 11:40pm right now.
I have read 380/500 pages of the novel, I was gonna finish it tonight, but I totally forgot that the city Christmas lights were being turned on... so we went to that... then got drinks... then I came back and cooked... and then I was like hoshit it's 11pm. 8D

You should get a job than fairy... Sadly, unemployment is pretty high right now.
I'm going to ask for an ipod or new digital camera for Christmas... xD
Why aren't you sleeping Pearl? silly//
Ah well, you won't be able to finish the novel, but heck you read most of it...
how were the city lights?
