I have bipolar too! Luckily, it's being controlled by lithium pretty well. I have mild ADHD too.

Are your dogs lost in the snow?

I wouldn't be surprised if she was being serious, considering all the snow they've gotten. I'm assuming that you're in the New England states, Reine?

I don't take any drugs for mine. It's controlled through meditation and concentration.

That works. And I'm assuming that it works very well.

It does. I'm usually quite calm. I try to just relax in the mornings, and get a good start going on my day. :)

I ried it, but it takes a lot of disciplie. Good for you though. I could probably use meditating myself, to be honest.

I'd meditate, if it weren't for the fact that I get bored easily.

Well, if meditating includes blowing shit up on my computer then I'm all for it.

Technically speaking, if you put enough focuse into it, to block out the rest of the world, it's close. lol. You just have to learn to use internal stimuli.

Yeah...there's too much going on in my head for that. I'll get into what seems like a good frame of mind for meditating, then some random thought will come floating by, usually a funny one.

Again, my mind is the worst place to go for meditation.

you gotta practice. eventually all of the crap falls out, and you can concentrate, on not concentrating. *grins*

I'm surprised that I do understand sarofset's description of meditation. I've tried it in the past, and believe that if meditation is done correctly then it is an effective form of relaxation and finding inner peace and all that. Thing is though, unless I want to sleep I don't really find the need to concentrate on not concentrating, I'd prefer to be actively doing something that requires physical movement of the body without the thinking/concentrating and that's relaxation for me.

hai. n____n
=not to butt in or anything but=

I've been considering meditation to help with sleeping.
I never have a problem once I get to sleep, I just struggle
with falling asleep, it can take me hours to fall asleep,
even when every part of me is utterly exhausted.

I sometimes do the whole blanking-out-of-the-mind thing when I'm having difficulty trying to fall asleep.

I think that's the problem,
I can't let my mind go completely blank.

No I really do have four dogs...two Bassets and two Mini Dachshunds. We have about two and a half feet in the backyard...so high they could hop over our fences now.

Yes I'm in Connecticut.

I have trouble meditating too...can't pay attention long enough for it to work :D

I'm just not really interested in it, I don't need it in my life so it ends of being a waste of time, you know? Like I don't have any issues I'm trying to control, or any problem falling asleep so whenever you have to do it (for like class or something) it just gets tedious.

I have trouble getting to sleep. Unfortunately, that's usually when I think of my best story ideas.
