Damien checked to make sure all was well in the house before he went to find Rose again.

"You hungry or not quite yet?"

"Not quite yet," Rose replied. "Though if you're hungry, then go ahead and make something. I'll come get some in a little bit." Because she knew that, while he was sincere about wanting to take care of her, part of his reason for asking was usually that he was starting to get hungry himself. It was something she'd learned to keep in mind, alongside his tendency to snuggle and how she kept track of the moon on her own, just in case.

Damien wavered for a few moments before he decided on a stew. That would take long enough that she'd be hungry by the time it was done, and he could let it sit and cook for however long he wanted.

"Alright. Yell if you need me, I'll be in the kitchen." Damien crossed over to kiss her cheek, smiling a little. So what if he was a touchy-feely shifter?

"I will," Rose replied, returning the kiss. She didn't mind that he was touchy-feely, not at all. It just meant that he would indulge her when she wanted to snuggle.

Damien settled in to make dinner, relaxed. It was his house, after all, so of course he was relaxed. Although he was more relaxed than normal with Rose there.

Rose settled in as well, relaxing. She knew they had work in the morning, but she really didn't care for the moment. Going into the kitchen, she settled on a chair to watch him cook.

A few weeks passed normally for them all. Damien spent most of his spare time with Rose, and Sera ended up spending a lot of time with Taylor.

So, naturally, she got into the car accident when she was out on her own.

Rose was out with Damien when she got the phone call about Sera. She had barely picked up the phone when she went pale.

"We need to go," she said to Damien as she put her phone away and grabbed her purse. "Come on."

Damien frowned but got up, walking with her.

"What happened?" he asked once they were out in the car. "You look pale."

"Sera's in the hospital," Rose said. "I'm her emergency contact, so they called me." She bit her lip, trembling a little. "But they didn't try to tell me everything's fine, so I think something's still not looking good."

"Which hospital?" Damien knew better than to ask any more questions, just starting his car and getting out onto the street so he could get them to the hospital as quickly as possible.

"Downtown," Rose said, her fingers anxiously twisting the strap of her purse.

Damien nodded and drove quickly, though still within limit. He parked and escorted Rose inside so she could find out where Sera was.

As soon as the car stopped, Rose got out.

"Call Taylor, let him know," she said. "I'll go find out what's going on."

Damien nodded, watching her go before he sighed and pulled out his cell phone. This was not going to be a fun call.

"Hey, Taylor, where are you?" he asked once his friend had picked up.

"Damien? At home, why?" Taylor answered. "Is everything alright? You sound a bit out of it."

"I'm at the hospital. The one downtown." Damien hesitated for a few moments. "Sera's here. Something's happened, I don't have all the details yet."

"Wait, what?" Taylor asked, already on his feet. "Damien, what's going on?"

"Rose got a call from the hospital, she's Sera's emergency contact. Sera's here, but I don't know what kind of condition she's in. Rose is getting information now."

"Which hospital?" Taylor asked, already grabbing his keys.

"Downtown Central." Damien locked his car and headed inside. "We should know more by the time you get here."

"I'll be there in ten minutes." With that, Taylor hung up the phone and started the car.

Damien went to go sit in the waiting room to see who would get back to him first: Rose or Taylor.

Taylor ended up walking in first.

"What's going on?" he asked as soon as he spotted his friend. "Where's Sera? Is she alright?"

"I don't know," Damien said in answer to all three. "Rose is still getting information, when she gets back we'll know what's going on." He frowned.
