Sera groaned and muttered something, blinking herself awake slowly. "We there?" she asked, her voice still a little slurred.

"Yeah," Rose replied. She held out a coffee cup. "Fresh-brewed caffiene."

"Thanks." Sera took a few sips, letting the caffeine hit her system before she got out and headed into the zoo.

Once she was sure Sera wouldn't fall over asleep again, Rose got out and headed towards the research department.

She stopped short when she saw a single rose lying on her desk. She smiled a little and reached over to pick it up. There was no note, but she didn't need one.

Sera zombied into the office, her cup of coffee clutched in her hand. She didn't say anything to Taylor.

Damien was back over with the cats, feeding everyone.

"Ooh, who's the flower from?" one of the other women asked when Rose set her things down on her desk. She blushed.

"Nobody," she replied quickly.

"Not just anyone would leave a red rose on someone's desk," her coworker pointed out. The woman grinned. "Rosie has a secret admirer!"

Taylor saw Sera walk in, but even he could see that she wasn't quite awake yet, so he didn't bother her.

Damien went back to his office to do some paperwork for a while, just kinda relaxing after the past week.

Sera drank more liquid caffeine before she was even somewhat awake. In the meantime she did busywork.

Rose went around to the departments and dropped off some research she was asked to do. She knocked softly when she got to Damien's area.

Taylor kept an eye on Sera, but didn't step in. If she wanted to do busywork, he wouldn't stop her. He was a little worried, though, she was pale and looked like she hadn't gotten any sleep.

"Come in," Damien said, not looking up from his paperwork. He did, however, look at her when she came in. "Oh, hey."

Sera didn't do much else, just trying to get as much caffeine into her system as she possibly could.

"Hey," Rose replied. "Just dropping some things off." She paused for a moment. "Thank you for the rose. Even though now the entire research department suspects something is up."

"Are you alright?" Taylor finally asked Sera after a few hours. "You're a little pale."

Damien merely smiled. "Well, I know you like them," he said with a little smile. "You can let them wonder for a bit. Just say you don't know who left it there."

"Yeah," Sera said, putting down replacement blades for the scalpels, sealed in their packages. "Just didn't get a lot of sleep last night."

Rose blushed a bit.

"That's what I told them," she replied. "They're all trying to figure out who left it there."

"Is everything alright?" Taylor asked. Sera looked like she'd been losing a lot of sleep.

Damien chuckled quietly. "Well, I invite them to try," he said, getting up and walking over to her. "So, how about lunch in a couple hours?"

"Yeah," Sera said after a moment. "I'm fine." She put the blades away. Yes, she was lying, but she wasn't about to spill everything to Taylor. She'd had problems telling Rose everything.

"That sounds good," Rose replied. Things were slowly going back to normal, at least for her.

Taylor knew that Sera was lying, but didn't push the issue. He would only raise a fuss if it started to interfere with her work.

Damien smiled. "Good. I suppose you don't want me to come pick you up in case your coworkers decide to get nosy."

Sera stayed silent, just working and getting as much done as she could.

"Probably a good idea," Rose replied. "Where should I meet you?"

"Here, if you like. I was thinking we could get some non-park food." Damien chuckled.

"Ooh, real food sounds good," Rose replied. "I'll meet you here, then."

Damien nodded with a smile. "Excellent. I'll see you then." He leaned towards her then hesitated, unsure if he was allowed to touch her yet or not.

Hesitantly, Rose touched his hand.

"I'll see you in a few hours, then," she said. Then she turned and left again, heading back to her own office.

Damien smiled, pleased, and went back to his work until lunch time. Then he kept an eye out for Rose.

"I'm on break," Sera called to Taylor, grabbing a blanket from the back. She wasn't hungry, so she went to go find a place to take a nap.

Once lunch rolled around, Rose set aside her work and slipped out before her coworkers had a chance to corner her about her 'secret admirer.'

"Alright," Taylor replied. Sera still looked tired, so he didn't suggest they go out for lunch.

Damien made sure he had his keys and clocked out so he'd be ready to go whenever Rose got there.

Sera managed to find a place to settle down and fell asleep quickly. She only stayed calm for a few minutes, though, starting to toss and turn.

It only took Rose a few minutes to get there once she slipped past her nosy coworkers.

"Ready?" she asked.

Taylor noticed when Sera went from calm to troubled. It was hard to miss, even though he was in the next room.

"Yup." Damien smiled at her. "So, what are you in the mood for today? Anything in particular?"

Sera continued tossing and turning, clearly uneasy.
