Rose gently unhooked the kitten from her jeans and rubbed behind one ear. She nodded.

"I do like her," she replied.

Damien nodded and went to go pay for the kitten, glancing back at her. "Do you need any new supplies for her? Kitten food or anything like that?"

"Kitten food would be a good idea," Rose said. "I think I have toys at home somewhere, though a couple more couldn't hurt."

Damien nodded. "Collar or no?" He already started looking around for the other requested items.

"No," Rose replied. "I've never been big on cat collars. None of our family's pets had collars, and my dad's demon-spawn cat even goes outside whenever he likes. He knows where home is, so there's no worry about him getting lost."

Damien nodded. "Good." He got kitten chow, a few toys, and then went to pay for everything.

"Okay, I got everything. You better put her in a carrier when we go, just for the time being."

"Alright," Rose replied. "I'll get a harness for her later." She didn't like putting cats into carriers for traveling, aside from trips to the vet. If she was going to take them anywhere, they were put into harnesses and on leashes.

Damien nodded his agreement and got a temporary carrying case from the employee, walking over to her. "Sorry, sweets. It's easier to take her in a carrying case since she doesn't know where she's going."

"I know," Rose replied. She didn't really like it, but she understood why. "You didn't have to do this, you know."

"I wanted to, though," Damein said with a grin. "Trust me, sweets, it was my pleasure."

"What, so you have a little spy in my house now?" Rose teased with a grin. "We'll have to see how long it takes her to terrorize Sera's new hamster."

"Not long, I'm sure," Damien said with a little laugh. "She'll probably think it's a toy of some kind."

"She'll have the poor rodent trapped in a corner in five minutes," Rose said. She grinned. "Sera's problem, not mine. She's the one who insists on having rodents as pets."

Damien snorted. "Rodents are too small for me to even bother with."

Rose grinned.

"I would think so," she said.

"Well, besides some rabbits. And possums. I think they count as giant rodents." Damien grinned. "Basically anything smaller than, say, a Great Dane is fair game."

Rose bit her lip and tried not to laugh at the mental image of a giant cat chasing around a tiny rabbit.

"You know, there are people out there who would pay good money for that kind of entertainment," she teased.

"Well, if that person happens to be you, I wouldn't take money," Damien replied with a sly smile, hooking an arm around her waist and pulling her closer.

Rose blushed as he pulled her closer. She wasn't used to actually being treated like a girlfriend.

Damien smiled as he noticed that. "So, are we ready to go? Do you want to drop her off at your place so she can get used to your house, or shall we go straight to my house?"

"Dropping her off is probably best," Rose replied. "I'll lock Lana in my room so she doesn't try to bully the little one until I can supervise."

Damien chuckled quietly. "Okay. Back to your house it is." He held the door open for her and the kitten with a little smile.

Rose took the carrier and went out to his car. She was starting to get used to him holding doors for her all the time.

Damien let her get in before he drove back to her house so that she could get her kitten all settled in.

Rose got out of the car once it was parked and dug her keys out of her bag.

"Come on," she said once she got the door open. "May as well make yourself comfortable while we're here."
