Rose grinned.
"Maybe we should send them both a nudge in the right direction," she said.

Damien chuckled. "That can certainly be arranged," he said, pulling out his cell phone. A quick text later and he raised an eyebrow at Rose to see if she was done as well.

Rose had also taken out her cell phone and was sending a message to Sera. She nodded when Damien sent her a look asking if she'd done it.

Damien grinned and started slicing the steak so they could eat. "Do you prefer more well-done or more rare?"
Sera blinked and looked at her phone as it buzzed, and then snorted. Apparently Rose wasn't above trying to shove Taylor at her. So she rolled her eyes and texted Taylor.
What're you up to?

"Medium is fine with me," Rose replied.
Taylor looked at the message and grinned a bit.
Not much. They got to you too, then, hm?

"Alright." Damien put a few pieces of medium steak on her plate, then handed it to her and put the bread and butter on the table. He took the bloodiest pieces for himself.
Sera snorted, shaking her head as she read the text.
Yeah. Honestly, it's like they're playing matchmaker or something.

Rose took her plate, not at all surprised at which pieces of steak he took for himself.
"This is really good," she said, tasting a piece.
It could be worse, Taylor said. He paused for a moment, and then, Well, would you like to go out to dinner or something?

Damien smiled, pleased. "Good. I'm glad you like it." He glanced back at the cat, who was sitting in the doorway to the kitchen staring at him.
"No, you pest, you don't get any of this. Go find a rabbit or something."
The cat huffed and stalked off.
Sure, Sera replied. You have anywhere in mind?

Rose grinned.
"You're no fun," she teased. "I'd have given him some." Which explained how her cats were so spoiled.
How about that diner with the onion rings? Taylor suggested.

"Normally I might have, but the seasonings generally aren't good for cats," Damien said, shaking his head with a little grin.
"Besides, I was planning on cutting him a piece to give to him later. I try not to encourage begging at the dinner table."
Sure, Sera replied, unable to keep from smiling. Meet you there in 15?

Rose grinned and rolled her eyes.
"Clearly you've never seen my dad's cat during dinner time, then," she said. "It's nearly impossible to keep him away."
I can pick you up, if you like, Taylor offered.

Damien snorted. "Yeah, that's kind of what I've been trying to avoid. When it's the two of us, I'll just throw something outside for him. When I have company, though, I try not to feed him at the table. Bad habits, and all."
Sera smiled. If you'd like. Rose will probably be gone all night, so I don't have to worry about leaving a spot open for her in the driveway.

"We spoil our pets, if you haven't noticed," Rose said.
I figured the two of them were together, Taylor replied. Twenty minutes sound okay?

Damien snorted. "Oh yes. Yes, we do." He shook his head and took another sip of his soda. "At least we don't have small creatures, too."
Sure. See you then. Sera went upstairs to go change into something suitable to wear outside the house.

Rose snickered a bit.
"No, I leave that one to Sera," she said. "She has enough rodents for three people."
Taylor slipped his phone into his pocket and went to change his shirt quickly. Then he grabbed his wallet and keys and left to go pick up Sera.

Damien snorted. "As well as a snake. Very intelligent." He rolled his eyes at her.
Sera changed into a nicer top, but kept her jeans, and pulled on shoes. Then she grabbed her purse and was ready to go, about five minutes before he got there. So she waited outside, sitting in the last of the sunshine.

"Snakes are perfectly acceptable pets," Rose stated. "Rats aren't pets, but snakes are okay." She paused. "And hamsters, hamsters are okay too. Guinea pigs are just weird."
Taylor pulled into the driveway and saw Sera waiting outside for him. He grinned when she got into the car.
"So, dinner sound good?"

"So hamsters are pets but rats aren't." Damien shook his head at that. "I don't think I can follow that logic."
Sera nodded. "Yeah, I'm starving. I haven't eaten since this morning." She grinned sheepishly as she buckled herself in. "So greasy so-bad-for-you-it's-good food sounds good right now."

Rose shrugged.
"Hamsters are cuter," she said. It was female logic, he didn't have to follow it.
"Alright, then," Taylor replied as he backed out of the driveway again. "To the diner it is."

Damien snorted and shook his head. Well, now he knew what to get her for her next birthday. Not that he was going to tell her that, of course...
"So I suppose I'm supposed to wear something nice for the wedding."
Sera grinned and settled back into the seat for the drive, playing with her iPod and turning on a few different songs, just for the heck of it.

"Yeah, pretty much," Rose replied. "I still need to go out shopping for an appropriate dress. He's my favorite cousin, so I kind of have to wear something nice for his wedding."
The drive to the diner didn't take long, and Taylor was able to find a good parking spot. Even better, the place wasn't busy yet, so they were able to get seated quickly.

Damien nodded. "Alright. I don't think I have anything suitable, so I'll have to take a look around." He had a really old suit, but he hated to wear it, and he'd rather just get something new anyway. Especially for things like the fundraisers for the zoo when he had to dress up.
Sera grinned and ordered a Coke and a tower of onion rings for them to share. Then she settled back in her seat to decide what kind of burger she wanted.

"You'll pretty much be okay in a button-up and a tie," Rose said. She grinned. "Unlike my grandfather, who will be wearing his kilt, I can guarantee it."
Taylor ordered a Coke as well, and perused the menu.
"What do you want to get?" he asked Sera.

"I was thinking about getting a burger," Sera said, glancing at him. "What about you? Anything look good on the menu?" She added the last bit teasingly.

Rose couldn't help but laugh a bit.
"Well, you don't have to wear one," she said. "My grandfather will probably wear the clan tartan, but he's the only one who would." She grinned. "If we're lucky, he'll leave the bagpipes at home."
Taylor raised an eyebrow.
"Well, I don't know about on the menu, but I see something really good across the table from me," he teased her.
