Point, but it still could be worse.

Reaching out, Rose took a few strawberries. She would let him have the blueberries, she didn't like them.

"Text Taylor and see if he'll bring Sera lunch from the outside," she suggested. That would brighten her friend's day. She would text him herself and tell him to do it, but she didn't have his number.

Damien chuckled and did as he was told, standing up as he got out his phone. "You want pancakes?"

You still lazing in her bed being smug or are you actually up?

"Only if they're buttermilk," Rose replied. "I don't like them with anything in them unless it's chocolate."

I was, Taylor replied. I got up to take care of the animals, although I fully intend on being smug for a while.

"That can certainly be arranged." Damien grinned as he started getting out the necessary ingredients.

Ah, I know you too well. Rose thinks you should go take Sera lunch from outside the park. Apparently she's having a hard day.

"You're the best," Rose said, grinning.

I'll do that, then, Taylor replied. I'm guessing you had a good night.

Damien just grinned and started mixing things together by hand. "Milk or dark chocolate?"

Oh yes. Of course I did. And if there was a little smug male pride in there, well... he was allowed.

"Milk chocolate," Rose replied. "It melts better."

And you called me smug. There was no way Taylor could pass up that little jibe.

"Alright." Damien put in a good amount of broken up milk chocolate, since he didn't have chips on him at the moment.

Never said it was a crime now did I? Go feed your woman before she decides to take it out on your only other employee.

If he provokes her, he deserves it, Taylor replied. He should know better by now. Regardless, he grabbed his wallet and his keys and went to go pick up lunch to bring to Sera.

Damien snorted and started cooking the first of the pancakes for her. He'd mix in blueberries with his once he'd made enough for her.

"What did he say?" Rose asked. She knew that Damien had been texting Taylor. It hadn't been hard to figure out.

"He is going to go get food and drop it off for her." Damien grinned. He'd leave out the other bits.

"There you go. The first batch of chocolate pancakes." He slid them in front of her on a plate.

"Alright," Rose said. She wouldn't say anything about it to Sera. Let her be surprised. She grinned when he handed her the plate. "Thanks."

"Are you going to want any more?" Damien looked over at her, stirring up the batter again and letting the pan cool off a little bit so it wouldn't be quite so hot.

"Probably not," Rose replied. She snagged a few more strawberries. "These should be fine."

Once Taylor had picked up something for lunch that he knew Sera liked, he went and stopped in at the office to see her.

Damien nodded and dumped in some blueberries, stirring them in and then making his own pancakes. Chocolate and blueberry. Well, he'd find out if it was good or not.

Sera was in the back, muttering to herself as she folded towels and scrubs and things, putting them where they should be as opposed to wherever they happened to land (which happened whenever the other tech did this). She didn't even notice Taylor at first.

Rose was already putting strawberries on top of her pancakes. She was convinced that chocolate and strawberries were the universe saying that it loved her and wanted her to be happy.

Taylor leaned in the doorway of the room and knocked on the doorframe.

"Care for a bite to eat?" he asked.

Damien chuckled and cooked his own pancakes, flipping them easily before he joined her at the table, starting to eat. Not a bad combination.

Sera blinked and turned to look at him before she grinned.

"Sure, I wouldn't mind taking a break."

Rose was already working on her pancakes. The combination of strawberry and chocolate was heavenly.

Taylor grinned back and went over to give her a kiss.

"I hope you like what I brought."

Damien chuckled and ate his pancakes at a more sedate pace, already planning on getting strawberries whenever he could.

"Anything sounds good right now. I had to skip breakfast, so I'm starving." Sera followed the smell of food, snagging an arm around him.

"Have I mentioned that you're the best boyfriend ever?"

"I figured as much," Taylor replied with a bit of a grin. "Come on, let's go sit down and you can have first dibs on lunch."

Sera grinned. "I'm taking my lunch break!" she yelled up to the other tech, going over to the table they used for x-rays, also used as the lunch table when there weren't animals back there.

Taylor pulled over a couple of chairs to the table.

"You first," he said, gesturing to the food.

Sera didn't need any more convincing than that. She grabbed a plate and piled some food on it, starting to eat quietly, glancing at him before back at her plate.

Once Sera had taken some food, Taylor filled a plate as well.

"Rough day so far?" he asked between bites.
