Yeah... I've only lost a great grandparent and had a few scares with grandparents... so I know what it's like... but not that heavily...

Both of grandparents on my dads side are dead. my greatgrandparents died when i was younger. My dad died when I was 3 so I don't really remember it to much.

Aww.... sad... *hugs* that must have been hard for your mom to have lost a loved one and had to raise you on her own :( *hugs*

Most of my great grandparents passed away shortly after I was born...

The memorial was really beautiful, and I had a few guests tell me so as well. We put a lot of time and effort into making it 'just so' for what we know my mom would love to have it as. It was also a really sad time, but I'm glad to see the support and love for my mother from so many people. I know she made many friends and touched many people's lives, and I can only hope to do the same.

As for now, we will all miss her, but our time here is not wrapped up quite yet. Some time this week we are going to the Oregon coast and bringing my mother to the sea, a place she has always loved dearly.
