I've never really had a problem with people reacting to my gender in gaming XD I don't particularly care myself, I enjoy gaming, what does it matter that I'm a girl?

Most guys are pleasantly surprised when I tell them I'm a gamer.
I think they are just really happy to know that there are girl who are into video games.

I'm just curious why you guys got such interesting reactions when guys find out you're a female gamer. :( No guy I've played games with have been surprised. Maybe it's how bad at certain games I am and how the stereotypes are.

o 3o;; Yeaah. I've gotten some weirdly excited reactions at one time or another.
It's kindof weird how many guys have it stuck in their head that girls don't play video games. :B
Because HURRDURRRRRR. Right here there is a thread full of them.
And what, one, two guys? No offense to any of y'all. xD

Hello Soda. :P
My bf bought me mario galaxy 2 for christmas. ^^
...though he gave it to me yesterday be he didn't buy it for me until then, lol!
So I might waddle off and play it again later. (it's what I was doing for most of last night)
I don't like how they changed the "maps" though. They're all classic mario style, like on the GBA or DS. And that's kindof, meh. I liked Mario Galaxy for being Mario Galaxy...and NOT being one of those crummy DS, GBA, GBC or whatever games.
/never was a fan of classic mario, but loves the shit out of mario galaxy.

Interesting, did they totally get rid of the Galaxy style levels or are there both styles?
Ironicly I've never given Galaxy a chance cause I hated the camera controls for it.
I got 3D dot heroes for Christmas, and have been playing Monster Hunter Tri lately too.

They just feel a lot more "classic mario" in places.
Some of the "galaxy" spacey feel is gone. Especially in the menus. And it takes some of the frame of mind away, that was so enjoyable in the last game.

The last game had a ton of content though, I have 90 stars, and I'm missing like, at least 20 of them? Maybe more. o__o I still haven't beaten it.
Well, I'm up to the "boss" fight with Bowser, but it's such a long stage, so it's kindof a beetch to have to restart when you die, lol...so I got lazy.
I dislike the extreme linear feel of this game though. I would like to galaxy hop, thank you.

I am kindof a raging game snob I know sometimes. xDD
But other times i'm amused so easily.

Haha. I don't mind Linear games.. Provided they're really well done. But yes non-Linear is all ways a good thing! The problem is some times I loose motivation with them cause they're.. Too sandy boxy? I donno what to call it, but some times they're so open I loose motivation to progress through the game and I just wonder around doings random things. Oblivion comes to mind, and GTA games lol.

I found smexy mods for minecraft... an ambient occlusion mod (for smoother lighting) and a mini-map mod (so I don't get so directionally challenged xD).

LOL. I do that all the time with non-linear games...but that's half the fuuun~
I like it. I'll spend for everrr beating every little last quest, and never beat the actual game until the very end. lol.

The Oblivion gates are actually really cool, lol. I enjoy them at least whenever I get bored of everything else and want some alchemy ingredients.
I actually am halfway through the main quest. I think.
I've already gone to Kvatch and further.
Edit: They're also GREAT for making money. >:D
Edit2: I also have a theory that pink Lumas are Mario's way of expressing the female orgasm, because peach never actually shows up in any mario game except for like 5 seconds in a cut scene. lol
I mean, if you've played mario galaxy, you'll understand. ; o;

Ha that's definitely better then me. I read about a strategy for oblivion online a while ago that takes advantage of the whole game staying level appropriate for the player, in that by never sleeping and keeping yourself at level 1 for the entire game, you essentially become really powerful by preventing everything else in the world from advancing.
You end up a level one and never attaining the highest gear and armor, but it changes the game mechanics and how the game is played drastically. I thought it was really interesting sounding and have been meaning to try it. Let me see if I can track it down.

The only unpleasant experience I've had with male gamers was on that Kingdom Hearts forum... knowing that I am a girl, they assumed that all I'm going to talk about is how hot the characters are and how I want to pair all of them together. Well, I can;t really blame them, since most of Kingdom Hearts fangirls behave this way, but it did hurt

Yeah, for my next game I'm going to try that.
but for my first one I thought I should play it "properly."
I did do the Shivering Isles damn near first thing though. :P Sortof wish I hadn't, it was sooo long, and I went up damn near 10 levels. ha!
But, it was fun. :3

Stab them.. in the eyes.
I don't like fangirls like that. I rarely play games for the "characters" and prefer ones I can customize to be "me." Or find a character who I can use as a main character (in fights at least), who is "like" me.
Like in games where during the battle or just in general, Like Dragon Age, where you can change who you are playing as sometimes. :P
I like that a /lot/.
Though, most of Dragon Age is really pretty linear, there are a few different ways you can play it, which spices it up.
As for those assfucks, they sound like the same type of people who while playing halo accused girls of being "12 year old boys" because of their higher pitched voices.
It's just a bunch of guys having penis contests and if you don't have a penis you aren't really a gamer, because all gamers have penises, obviously.
That's why I always keep a few in my trunk!
;)
