Forgive me. >.> I love Kingdom Hearts. But not in the uber fangirl freak way. I enjoy the games as games, the storyline. I don't go KAWAIISORA&RIKUYAOISUPERDESUNEEEE
... -cough-
That was painful to type. I really wish the new games were available on PS2. I hate when they start a series on one system, and continue it on another system. I'm not going to buy a Nintendo DS just to play the new KH: Recoded.

@ takohako - Those are the sorts of things I tend to avoid honestly. I hate people like that! Its hard to find laid back cool gamers to converse with lately. To many raving xbox maniacs, ps3 humpers, and wii gamers who only talk about the latest cardio work out game... !
----------
Pweep - Well things need to move forward, ps2 is now the last generation, the games move up so they can improve and run smoother in the newer more powerful systems. It is the way of technology..

KAWAII DESU DESU ROXASSSS. /moans
I liked Kingdom Hearts...See ('d).
The first game had a storyline that was fun.
But the gameplay was "meh," especially after you played KH2, and the gameplay was so much better it hurt to go back and play 1. The storyline, however, despite most people's bitching, is only a little "meh." They took it in a different direction than most people thought it was going, and got all butthurt about it.
The only thing I felt KH2 was missing from the first game was the Trinities. I loved those.
Then they started making 50 billion games for the DS, most of which I've heard have been awful.
So I haven't bothered and probably won't ever bother buying them.
they won't be anything like the game I loved, so fuck it. I don't care enough, the game felt "finished-ish."
I still am holding out hope for a ps3 follow up to the first two games. If they do that, I might buy it to play on my bfs ps3, but, probably not until after I've heard stuff about it, and it's readily available used. :P
----------
Yes, but the DS is basically an "old generation" system like the ps2, in your pocket. It's not nearly as powerful or beautiful as the 360, ps3, or wii. There are so many better ways they can expand the games using a console versus a handheld.
Or the gamecube, as that's a nintendo system and seeing as some of the zelda games images are ripped right off of Windwaker, which was for the gamecube. :P

I know they have to move forward...but I can still hate it
I actually preferred KH1 over KH2. :gonk: KH2 had like 3597847304 hours of cutscenes and like, 2 hours of playtime. I hate cutscenes. But I did like Roxas's moves.

Well the multi-platform thing is the game developers current marketing strategy to deal with the higher development costs. Things have shifted from having exclusive titles all over the place to developing a high end game and exporting it to as many platforms as possible because the development costs are so immensely high. There are billions (exaggerated) DS games because it is the cheapest current gen, though soon to be replaced by the 3ds, to develop. An average jo C++ programmer is able to create small DS games in a matter of weeks rather then an entire team. Of course this would be a very simplistic basic game, but hopefully this sheds some light as to why the current gaming market is as it is.
Development costs for the big three, more so xbox and ps3, are roughly x5 more expensive to create then the previous generation was.
Iphone/Ipad/Itouches/Andriods are all so relatively cheap to develop for and is a growing and clearly popular revenue to sell to as many people as possible at a lower development cost, and in return they get premiums from their published games.
I could get into the Wii's system if you like but there's all so a network of smaller game development teams who create for the portable systems and wii ware/arcade/play station network game scene.

I read somewhere in an interview that when DS came out, Nomura wanted it to have Kingdom Hearts, so he had to think up a KH game suitable for this handheld and Days was created. Oh well. I played that game in Japanese and completed it, then I was stupid enough to delete my savefile *smacks self*

I agree with you completely. I'm just bitter because I'm a poor redneck and can't afford all that flashy teknahlogee. (technology).
All of my gaming systems were free/gifts. My first PS2 was a gift, but it stopped working. My GBA was borrowed from a friend who moved away unexpectedly without telling me, so I can't return it to him. And my current PS2 was a gift from my girlfriend. My laptop was a gift from my grandmother.
I just don't want to waste money buying a system and games, to have it be "outdated" in two years by a new system. I'll just continue buying "new" (to me) games for my current systems. I can't wait for Jak and Daxter to come in :D

All the more reason I shouldn't give a fuck about the DS KH games.
I know the gaming industry is under a lot of pressure, and it's mostly gamestop's fault (them selling used games at outrageous prices and not giving any of that money back to the developers, and only giving you pennies on the dollar IF YOU'RE LUCKY for selling back your slightly used prefect condition games), but, I don't want a game that took a couple weeks to make, I want a game that was actually put some effort and thought, and isn't supposed to be just LOL LETS CASH IN ON SOME STUPID MOTHERFUCKERRS.
uhg. It all makes me not want to shop at gamestop, but it's my only option around here for games. :/

I'm jealous. ;o; If we had more options around here you can believe I wouldn't be buying ANYTHING from gamestop, but alas, there are none, so it's order online and get an unknown quality of a game or DVD (one time, my brother bought me a "new" copy of Boogiepop Phantom, still in plastic wrap, and the inside was covered in semen the DVDs and DVD booklet...COATED in semen...I'm not kidding, it was disgusting, my brother said he got it off ebay though, so why I am surprised?).

I don't know how you feel about Emulators but I could easily open up your world to awesomeness of playing older games pweep! :)
Yeah I honestly just buy from Wally world lately, but I very rarely buy games right now. Student budget and all lol.
But hold on there, supporting the little game developers is really important! Just because it wasn't made by a multi million dollar team doesn't mean it's not something high quality. There's plenty of small teams out there who put out the best possible games they can and they put out great stuff. The makers of Papermoon and Max and the Magic Marker come to mind.

Also, I only know it was semen because I touched it by mistake (I didn't look at the DVD before trying to pry the DVD out of it's case so I could watch it), and well, it felt like cold watery semen. I puked so hard after that.

No, it's the fact that it went from being a big game, with lots of thought and work put into it, and now it's just a crummy DS game trying to cash in on the trend before it dies.

Yes, the DS is actually one of my favorite systems overall. :B
I love eet.
The Zelda games that are copypasta graphics I mind a little less though, because Phantom Hourglass was fucking amazing.
Though, Spirit Tracks kindof sucked.

Basically, my beef with Kingdom Hearts is it was a really good game, and then all of a sudden the market is flooded with a bunch of terrible (from nearly everyone I've talked to) DS games.
I just, I'm not touching another KH game unless it's called "Kingdom Hearts: 3" or is for a console.
I don't trust the DS ones so I'm not going to waste my money, I'm not that hardcore a fan of KH anymore. If they had come out right after KH2, I'd have been all over it.
Edit: I'm kindof big on "brands" as much as I hate to say it. But if a game has a "brand" name I trust, I'm more likely to buy it, however a game company and series can lose or gain trust fairly easily.
Like, right now in SMG2, I probably wouldn't buy a 3rd if it were to come out.
Even though I was crazy in love with the first, and the second isn't all that different so far except in terms of the menu, and it focuses more on other types of mario (ie rock mario, cloud mario, ect.)

All though the KH DS game that is out now isn't totally trash I gotta point out. It provided good back story on the organizations side of things. Though the controls weren't pulled off super well. The real problem with it was that they tried to keep a console game play to a weaker system with lack of the proper buttons and set up. It would have been better pulled off in a PSP.
Oh I gotta say I'm so god damn happy about the PSP 2 having 2 joysticks. My god, about time a hand held had a full controller. That'll be an interesting system.

I agree, actually. The DS is made for games that you can you know, touch to control. And the KH series doesn't seem like one where you'd get to utilize that feature often or effectively just because of the game type. So that's another reason I'm wary about it. I am very big on how the game is played over a storyline. If the gameplay isn't fun or well done, I don't care and probably won't keep playing a game.
PSP2? They're coming out with a new one? Ooh, if I decide to spend my christmas money on a new system, I might grab that up.

1. Ew semen, groooossssss.
2. I use Amazon when I'm not going to the city :) I bought Jak & Daxter from Amazon, as well as Dragon Quest VIII.
3. I have emulators! Project 64 & zSNES. I have three games for 64, and one for SNES, so far.

Yeah you probably wouldn't like it then, though they did make a great rpg like leveling up system that you could customize your set up in way more detail then simply switching your weapon.
Yeah Sonys been developing it for a while, they have been keeping it low key to avoid clashing with the announce of the 3ds. But apparently they're targeting having it run ps3 'like' games hand held. It wont be as powerful but cause the screen is so much smaller, it's feasibly possible.
The rumors are saying it'll prolly look a little like the pspGo but bigger, but the two joysticks is all most certain. And clearly it's going to be much more powerful then the psps.

Yeah, if a game has a terribly set up menu, that you use a lot, I will go bonkers.
Like, my biggest complaint with Oblivion, is the menu. xD
/does a LOT of alchemy
That whole item menu is a nightmare. :gonk:
