I just made some Japanese soba noodles from a kit and they turned out horrible. I always fail at cooking or anything domestic. It got me thinking about anime and how every heroine is so amazing with all that domestic stuff and it really makes me mad! I'm looking at you, Tohru Honda!!!

Anyway, does anyone know some animes that feature female characters who hate doing housework or cooking? I always liked "Sailor Moon" since she failed at everything, haha. It made me feel better that I was not alone.

Also, are there any other animes as random as Azumanga Daioh? I need something kid appropriate to watch with my nieces.

TLDR; What's an anime with a female character who hates cooking and housework?

What's another kid-appropriate, totally random and hilarious anime like "Azumanga Daioh?"

There's School Rumble. The main character lady can't cook at all but I don't think it's very kid appropriate.

And Ninja Nonsense. It's very VERY random and absolutely hilarious but definitely NOT kid appropriate.

You could always watch One Piece with them, it's super funny and for kids.

Awesome! I will check out the first two for myself and One Piece for them. I really appreciate the suggestions. :) I always need to watch more anime.

It isn't quite females hating to cook, but Hetalia has boys who are more domestic than the girls?

Kid-appropriate? I'd say go for something in the kid's section at a bookstore. *nodnod* Tokyo Mew Mew (if you have girls or girlie boys) is what I started my little sister on. :3

Geez, lots of haters for Azumanga Daioh o3o; I thought that show was hilarious! And I loved Melancholy of Haruhi~ >.>; I agree with Beyblade, though, I never got it... it was like having Pokemon battles but instead of badass creatures, they were spinning tops... like wtf? @[email protected] I never saw the appeal in that. They were overly dramatic about tops. Yu-Gi-Oh was the same, but at least they had cool monsters as well as an amazing Abridged series.

I also somewhat agree on the Naruto one.. >3> I never liked that show, although there are a couple of cool characters. But then again, there's like 29185029592 characters so a couple good ones were bound to happen, I suppose~ ;P too much filler and most of the characters are whiny and angsty because of something that happened during their childhood and they want vengeance for it.

I would have to suggest, Excel Saga. It's got completely random things happening in just about every episode, as well as adorable fail moments, along with extreme fails.

Haha, all of these sound awesome. Thank you so much, everyone. Now I just need to find a good place to watch anime! Netflix's watch instantly selection is failing me.

Its difficult because all i can think of with that type of character arent kid-appropriate.
I think Excel saga might go a bit over the kids heads because of her talking sooooo fast, and there might be some themes occassionally that could be a problem, but im sure if you watched it yourself you could judge that :D it is a great show

I use animefreak.tv, they seem to have particular anime series more reliably and longer than others as the copyright laws that eventually get some anime off of the other sites seems to take longer to get to them!

Well for some anime for kids I'd say Tokyo Mew Mew (as already suggested) but maybe digimon as well (I loved the original series and the second season. After that it kind of goes a bit down hill)

Um...the only anime that comes to mind with girls that don't cook very well is Code Geass (and that's probably only because I am OBSESSED with it right now!) but seriously! The girls that are usually in it can't cook (escept for Milly but she's not that good either I don't think) and usually the one doing the cooking is Lelouch (the main male character (although you wouldn't think it half the time with his appearance) but I love it and I'm pretty sure that you'd like it too but no, not really for kids.

One Piece might be good for kids although I never really liked that show much...it just seemed lame to me but I prefer more action-y stuff like Bleach so that's no surprise. :XD

Animefreak.tv is probably your best bet for watching anime online (in english anyway) and I use that one quite a lot but I also use animeseason.com. This site only has the pepisodes in Japanese however with subs.

Hope I've helped!

The gun came from the armory! There are different colours and different awesome weapons in there for you to choose from!
Let all of us here know if you've watched any of these anime that we've suggested would ya? I wouldn't mind knowing what you think of Code Geass if you watch it. It is AWESOME!!!!!!! (Although watch out for some of the english dub acters. Some of the voices are...terrible to say the least -shudders-) I recomend watching it in original Japanese but most of the english voices are alright (Lelouch's voice acter, CC's voice acter, Kallen's Voice acter and Suzaku's voice acter and they're the main characters).

Oh and another anime that I just thought of that a friend recomended to me. Trigun. Apparently it's got really good female characters but I dunno if they're any good at cooking but I don't think they would be from the discription that I was given.

Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler has this type of character, but it's a boy though. His name is Bard and he chooses to cook his food with a flame thrower, which ruins the meal. Thus having Sebastian, the demon butler, to fix it to his dismay, since he's already busy.

And whenever he messes up, there's an explosion and his hair becomes an afro. It's hilarious.

I thought of another two that might be good (We're keeping you busy here!)

Okay, the first one is actually not Japanese, it's Italian but when I first saw it I thought that it was an anime cuz of the way that they did the eyes but now that I'm REALLY into anime I can see that it's a bit different but it's still good for little kids (more specifically girls) Winx Club (And if I remember right some of the main characters are RUBBISH at cooking!)

Another good one for kids is a Japanese-French thing that was worked on by both and then dubbed into English. It's called "Oban Star Racers" and I loved watching it! It's only about 13 episodes long so it's not too hard to watch and I like the plot line.

Not kid appropriate but dead leaves is totally worth watching. No house work involved, I totally loved it.
Def not a kid safe movie though
