I'm writing a paper for my composition class at school. It's a basic guide to anime and manga. It has to be 25 pages long and I'm having trouble thinkning of things to talk about. Ant suggestions??

You could compare anime drawing styles to western style. Like how the structure of the characters differ. Also, you could tell what things identify an anime as an anime. Like big eyes, big hair, etc.

You could talk about different genres, such as yaoi, shonen, seinen, josei, shoujo, magic girl, school. You could also talk about many of the themes in manga and anime, like the power of friendship, the power of words, the power of love etc. You can talk about the differences between manga and anime (especially of the same series) and you should also mention notable works and what they're like as examples. You also may put how it's changed through time, including style, material and opinions. You can also compare it to manwha and manhua, which are Korean and Chinese versions of comics. Oh, and you can compare subject matter between Eastern and Western comics.

This site should help with ideas too: Anime - Television Tropes & Idioms and Manga - Television Tropes & Idioms.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask if you need more ideas.

.25 pages! Dang! Some easy 'bulking up' stuff you could ad is like a list and short summary of the most popular manga available, like Naruto and Fruits Basket, as well as how people read it online or through shonen jump. You should also compare how character relationships are different in manga than they are in most american stories. Different culture and such. Also how manga tends to feature younger characters and why.
