Jake looked around and shuffled slightly, his heart was pounding in his head with fear "not good, not good, not good" he repeated in his head but put on a small fake smile "ok then" he said as he nibbled the food and smiled widly "this is good" he whispered as he began shoveling the food down

It didn't seem as if anyone was going to try to do anything to them at the moment, so Suri allowed herself to enjoy the food in front of her. It was all a matter of timing for them to escape. She finished up her food and was starting to watch for their opportunity to escape when a tremendous CRACK had everyone jumping. It was the sound of thunder. Suri quickly grabbed Jake's hand to help calm him down so that he wouldn't inflate in front of everyone. She tugged on his arm and shifted her eyes towards the break in the tent. This could be their chance while everyone was distracted. She slowly started to edge towards the flap, pulling Jake with her and making sure they weren't attracting any attention.

Jake was happily shovling the food down when he had a quick look around, he saw that everyone was busy eating until he just heard a loud crack and jumped, Jake felt Suri's hand on his and started to breath heavily as his heart pounded, he slowly followed her as Suri started to move towards the exit, he said nothing, insted his clenched onto Suri's hand tightly

Since everyone had focused on the loud crack no one noticed when Suri and Jake slipped quickly through the flap in the tent. Outside it had grown very dark with clouds and the wind was whipping the few trees with a vengeance. She kept hold of Jakes hand and they carefully made their way towards the back of the pavilion. She was hoping the horses would be picketed back this way and she fully intended on taking a couple to aid their escape.

Jake was still shaking as he looked around and shivered "its ok... nothing can hurt you... its ok... nothing can hurt you" he repeated out aloud while closing his eyes and held onto Suri's hand tightly and let her pull himthe way they needed to go, once he felt a bit safer he opened his eyes and gulped "we need to get somewhere dry" he stated quickly trying to taking his mind off the thunder

Suri could hear Jake reassuring himself but said nothing as they were coming up on the end of the pavilion. The rain hadn't started yet but she could feel it coming quickly. Softly, "Yes we do. I think the horses are just up ahead. I'm going to try and get us a couple." She paused and looked back at him. "Can you ride?" She hadn't thought about it till now. It would a lot faster if he could as riding double would only slow them down.

Jake shook his head at her question poking his bottom lip out like a scolded child "no... i could try" he said smiling "there is a first time for everything" he said giggling "but it will have to be a smallish horse, huge ones scare me" he said shivering at the thought

Suri sighed inwardly. There wasn't time to teach him to ride, they didn't have the time. She was still going for two horses though. A backup was always a good thing. She put her finger to her lips and motioned for him to follow her. They crept out into the open and Suri scanned the area. It looked clear and she could see the horses just a little ways ahead of them. Keeping to the darker areas they slowly crept towards the horses. Once they had reached them there would be better concealment for them among the animals.

Jake giggled slightly as he watched her, he wished he knew what she was thinking about him, he still thought she didn't like him 100%, but he didn't mind, atleast he had a friend "where are we going?" he whispered to her as he saw the horses "oh we are sneaking out some horseys then we are going to get away" he whispered as they snuck towards them and he heard a another thunder strike, this time it was a bit quieter then before

They managed to make it to the horses without being seen. The horses didn't seem to be bothered by them but it was steadily getting darker the longer they were outside. "Just stay with me, we'll be ok as long as we don't spook them." She looked around them, measuring what horse would suit them both best. Finally she spotted a couple of small ones near the back of the herd. Moving slowly she quietly approached them. Suri had always had a way with animals and used this to her advantage. She put her hands out and made soothing noises as they got closer.

Jake smiled and nodded as he listened to what she had to say "ah okay" he whispered as he followed her, he looked around at all of the horses and sighed a bit "they all look bored" he said as he looked back at Suri as she began to aproach a few horses and he giggled quietly as he followed

The horses sniffed at them a little but seemed to be ok when Suri reached out to touch their necks. They already had a rope around them, fashioned into a rough harness. Grabbing onto the rope she led them over to the back of the enclosure. Now came the dangerous part, getting them out without alerting anyone.

Jake smiled as he followed Suri, all the while thinking about the first time they had met, of course that mabey him growl to himself, he then giggled at the memory of when Suri first saw his power and the look on her face, he also giggled at the fact Suri feinted when he began to reform, but then sniffled a bit when he remembered his powers going out of hand hand and left Suri having to look after him

Suri smiled back at Jake when she heard him giggle then pushed the gate open to lead the horses through. Just then she heard voices coming closer. "They couldn't have gotten far. We better find them fast before the storm breaks." Suri froze. They were getting closer. There wouldn't be able to leave without being seen now. She turned back to Jake. "We're going to need a distraction. Do you think you could inflate and scare the rest of the horses into running out of this gate? There will be so much confusion that we should be able to get away without being followed."

Jake heard what she was asking him and thought "well... just inflation wouldn't do much... buuuuuut" he grinned deviliously as he began to grow "i know a perfect thing to scare them" he said as he started to grow faster, after a few seconds he soon reached his maximum size, but he didn't stop there, he continued, his body was giving off deadly creaks as his skin began as tight as a drum "block you ears" he quickly said as there was a loud creak followed by a huge bang, Jake's remains soon drifted down onto the ground and his body began to reform, once reformed he smiled "that did the trick" he said looking proud

Suri saw what Jake was doing and quickly covered her ears. Once he exploded the horses went crazy trying to get out of the enclosure. She kept a tight hold of the two she had picked and quickly swung up on the back of one, she reached down for Jake's hand. "Hop up here, we'll just go with the stampede then take off on our own when we get far enough away," she called out.

Jake looked up at her and quickly got up onto the horse with her and giggled a bit "well...atleast my powers have come in handy atleast once in this adventure" he said as he held onto the horse the best he could and smiled "thats rare for them to be usefull" he giggled as he looked back at all of the horses

Suri grinned back at Jake as she held on to their horses. Then she turned her attention back to the horses. There were shouts of panic from behind them as the people who had been searching for them realized what had happened. She let their horses run with the herd for quite a ways as she scanned the area for a place they could rest.

Finally she thought they had come far enough away from the camp to be safe and she turned their mounts away from the herd. A brilliant flash of lightning showed a cluster of small hills that rose in the distance. She aimed their horses in that direction as the first drops of rain started to fall. Getting closer she could see that the hills were bigger than she had first thought and were in fact the start of a mountain range. She let the horses slow down to an easy walk.

Looking back at Jake, "Maybe we can find a place to stay for the night in these hills. We need shelter and quickly before the rain starts pouring. Let me know if you see anything." There were a few trees scattered near the base of the hills and further up quite a ways she could just make out the start of what looked like another forest up on the mountain. She scanned the area, hoping to find a dry place for them to stay as their horses continued to walk towards the hills.

Jake smiled as they followed the heard of horse, when the split away from all of the horse he smiled and listened to what she said and nodded "ok, i will keep my eyes peeled" he said as he felt the rain begin to fall "oh no" he said as he looked at the sky "no fair" he said like a child, then when he began looking again he spotted a small cave in the side of one of the small mountains "over there!" he called to her pointing to the cave "thats a great spot" he said smiling with pride

When Jake pointed out the cave, Suri felt a wave of relief. Pointing the horses in the direction of the cave they quickly made their way over to it. Jumping down she peered inside. It seemed to be dry and there were no tell tale signs that anything else was occupying it at the moment. She cautiously went inside and was delighted to find there was enough room for all of them. She went back outside ande smiled up at Jake. "Good work, it's just what we need." Grabbing the reins of the horses she led them inside. The poor things were exhausted from their wild ride and didn't fight her at all when they went inside the small opening.

Jake awaited her return from in the cave and smiled when she came out "awesome" he said as he got down too and walked into the cave, he looked around and then looked at the room "im going to be rather sqished when i inflate" he said looking around "never mind"

There was a pile of scattered branches throughout the cave and Suri started to gather them up. "It looks like all this will be enough for a good sized fire once we get all of it together. Looks like we're going to need it." They had gotten inside just in time. It seemed as if the floodgates had opened in the sky and the rain was pouring down so hard you couldn't see anything outside.

Jake nodded at Suri and smiled a bit as he began to help her collect up all of the fire wood "how long will we be staying here then?" he ask starting to feel tired of non-stop traveling "can't we settle down here for a day?" he asked her "i want to use my power with out the bursting part... but thats impossible while we travel all of the time"

When Suri had an armful of wood she walked towards the back of the cave and began arranging it into a pyramid shape to begin their fire. She paused when Jake asked his question. She nodded slowly. "I don't see why not as long as we don't get any 'unexpected guests'." She gave him a warm smile as she continued to build the structure for their fire.

Jake smiled as he heard her reply and nodded "okie dokie" he said as he then started to swell and giggled "i almost forgot how funny this felt" he said giggling as his swell started to pick up the pace a bit, luckly he was on the opposite side to the entrance of Suri, so if she needed anything from outside she wouldn't have to get him to deflate
