I had to stop smoking it so often because it actually made me more ill.
I'm bipolar and the weed just makes my mind go in overdrive and the high isn't fun after a while being all paranoid and such. Then after when im burning out and a few days after my moods are all WHOOOOSH, happy happy happy, grumpy grumpy grumpy >:l

if that makes sense.

I have a medical card, but I am not sure I am going to renew in January. Weed has helped me through soooooo much, but the ups and downs are sometimes too much. When I am smoking a lot, I am stoned 24/7. Then I never notice the bad side effects, which is nice, but everyone around me does.

I love how weed makes me not give an eff about about anything in the world, but oh man, if I get paranoid on it, it makes my anxiety so bad. I have a lot of health problems and it helps me forget about them, but doesn't exactly make any of them better. I can't see giving it up forever, though. I love stoner culture so much and consider myself a stoner, politically speaking. :XD

I know exactly how you feel. But when I actually return to the real world and am active and such, I notice a big difference. I have fibromyaglia and I constantly ache and am tender. So when I do things like go shopping or go to college, it's easier for me to do it. Like in the winter my knees get super bad and it's difficult to walk and sometimes I need assistance, but weed helps my overactive mind let go of the pain... if that makes any sense... <_<;;

I have a lot of issues with my eyes my doctor suggested it to me but I told her that I could never use that sort of medication. I watched my older sister destroy her life just so she could sit home all day smoking weed. She has no life, no ambition she's a loser. Maybe it's irrational but I'd rather deal with my problems than run the risk of becoming like her.

My friend gave me some when I had a bad back, but all it did was give me a headache as well as the bad back, so it doesn't seem to work on me.
On some people it's great for pain relief, I've got a friend who has it due to MS and he's only pain free when he has canabis, but doesn't seem to work the same on everyone.
Whenever I've tried it, it's only ever made me sleepy, hungry or headachey. Since I have no problem sleeping or eating without it and don't enjoy headaches, it's not for me.

My cousin gave me some when I thought I had Brest cancer, I was so worried and worked up I was getting violently Ill. It helped me relax quite a bit, but I don't think I would want to make a habit out of it. I don't think it's even medically legal where I live though.

I have sleeping issues so I've used it a few times for that in the past but I don't like being dependent on anything and I didn't like coughing up my lungs constantly so I quit.

It is different for everyone. Everyone has a different experience and it changes the more and more you do it. I had never done it all through highschool and around 17 I started having problems. Last year I was so ill I couldn't walk for a month and was barely concious the whole time. Cannabis has helped me a lot. It's a sad thought but if you're in enough pain to just be numb is a great feeling. I'm in pain every single day; sometimes starting at 3-4 am. I haven't been able to attend college for about a year now. I'm going back soon though very excited. ^_^

I am so sorry to hear about your troubles, Tristal. :( I am glad that weed helps you and I know what you mean about it being sad to prefer being numb to everything than life. I hope they find a cure for fibromyalgia, so much more research is being done on it now.

Thanks but there's nothing anyone can do so far.. :/ My family beats themself up more than me in being sad about it. They think it's there fault and that makes me feel bad sometimes. There could be no reason for it... The hardest thing is doing "normal" things. I don't do much anymore not because I'm a stoner but it's just harder for me to do things comfortably... Even for non medical use I think it should be legalized. It's been in our history for a really long time, it streams through youtube like no tomorrow. It's like It's a big secret and the politicians and closed minded people are turned the other way acting dumb. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Alcohol causes many more problems, and the side effects from some of the the medications the pharmaceutical companies try to sell us... and cannabis is illegal... just shoot me now... -_-

I just have zombieism.

@Tristal: I totally agree. As I said, I definitely consider myself a stoner, politically speaking, even if I am taking a break from smoking it.

haha, right?

If the things that are legal can kill us, but the thigs that help are illegal, I have no faith in humankind.

Or at least America, anyway.

One of my best friends actually has a prescription for it.
She has Chron's so she's in a lot of pain a LOT of the time, and even the pot only helps her so much.

I used to smoke semi-frequently because it reduced my stress level and therefor how angry and violent I can get... I do wish I could still smoke it, but, I also do not want to get arrested, and trying to find a job, and peeing positive on a drug test is a bad idea for getting a job.

My boyfriend lately because of this, and spice being more readily available has been smoking spice a lot. (For those of you who don't know, spice is basically herbs that have been treated with cow shit and chemicals that give you a very strong "high" feeling.) Spice honestly is not worth it though, it gives me headaches and makes me feel extremely ill, plus it's probably a billion times worse than marijuana that my buddy has grown his damn self, with no chemical additives that are probably going to give me cancer.

I'd never smoke it myself. I like being completely in control of my actions and feelings. Not that cannibis makes you do things you wouldn't, of course. I just don't like things like that in general. Of course, I have to watch out for anything that wil interact with my antidepressants.

If it works for you and isn't compromising your lifestyle, then go for it. I see no problem. I only see something wrong when smoking consumes someone's life.

It is not currently legal for medical use in CT but I am hoping our new governor will change the law.

I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and as a result have a lot of pain and nausea from many different sources. God I possibly could get off of ALL my narcotic pain medications...I've been on them since 2007 except for one week my doctor helped me taper off to see if I still needed them.

Oh...I certainly did. I was on new pain meds in a week because I was suicidal from the amount of pain I was in and the resulting lack of sleep.

I'm bipolar too though so I have to be VERY VERY careful and would have to work closely with the prescriber and my psych peeps so I don't wind up manic. The worst thing is it doesn't work and I go back on the opiates.

Aww I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I feel the exact same way most of the time. But I'd rather just live with it than to give up... giving up is sad.. :(

Yes, I have a medical 215 card... The reason being is I have HORRIBLE migraines that can make me sick for weeks... and pharmaceutical drugs don't help. Only weed helps alleviate the pain But most of the time I just smoke for recreation. ^^

Sadly, I think its illegal in the UK, Kole... Here in Cali its pretty much legal.
