When i'm scared, i sing a song I learned awhile ago.
It goes:
"I am slowly going crazy
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
switch
Crazy going slowly am i
6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
switch"
For whatever reason, it calms me down.
When distraught about something, i just sleep. In all seriousness, i sleep when i'm upset.XD

I wish I could sleep when something upset me. I just stay up and worry so I'll usually watch something on tv to tire myself out since I have a habit of falling asleep while watching it.

I pray, and reassure myself that everything is fine and that there is nothing to worry about. Or if it is obviously something that I should worry about I pray and then reduce the situation in my mind to pieces that I can handle.

During horror movies I just remind myself it is not real and find something to make fun of in the movie :].

It would really depend on the reason. If it was for exams or exam results, I remember the first thing I would do would be to go to the toilet where no one would be around, sit down and think. Yes, it is weird but for some reason, the toilets in my old university were really clean and somewhat calming. Plus, I didn't have smart know-it-alls around me all the time telling me about what to and what not to study and how they have read the textbooks and notes 30 times or more =.=

If its for a scary movie, I would do the normal hiding thing. If I'm watching it at home on my laptop, I'd just lower the volume and grab a pillow to cover my face or I would get ready to push the screen down in case of any sudden scary parts.

Uusually if I am in distraught, I would pick up my phone and call 2 of my closest friends. I think talking to them calms me and then we'd probably end up having a laugh and I would forget why I was in distraught.

That song was one of my choir warm-ups! :D What I usually end up doing when I'm scared is formulating a plan to get out of the worst-case scenario. >.> If I'm not doing that, I usually start getting angry instead, or I start singing random songs to get my mind off of what's currently happening.
When I'm nervous, I start fidgeting and talking a mile a minute. XD
And when I'm sad, I tend to drown my sorrows in games, writing, drawing, and music.

When I get stressed or upset, my body tends to shut down, so when I'm scared I usually freeze for a while.

It always worries me that if something really bad happened, I wouldn't be able to move or scream or ...anything.
I don't have the fastest reactions as it is, but if I'm just frozen in place and a Velociraptor or something is approaching, I'm most likely to be the one who gets mauled and eaten, as everyone else would have done the sensible thing and run away.

When I'm really upset and can't deal with life, I sleep. Sleep is my friend, and I'm very lucky that I'm able to switch my mind off when my head hits the pillow and then I can escape from life for a while. Usually by the time I wake up, I have a better state of mind for dealing with things.

Depends on what it is, usually I'll distract myself, or talk with my friends not about the thing that scared me but something else, or sometimes I'll clasp my fingers together then unclasp them and do it over and over, or just twiddle my thumbs, or get to a place where nobody else is there. Like my bedroom I'll stay there for so long I might just fall asleep or just go to my bathroom until my nerves calm down it's a really bad habit, the reason is because I can't hear my baby brother crying and screaming like insane or my mom or sister screaming and stuff. Or my dad yelling on the phone.

i don't usually get scared.
the only time i can think of is if i'm walking home alone through the city & it's dark.
then i try to look like i'm walking with confidence and just keep alert.

as for being distraught, i usually do things to take my mind off it. reading, writing, working on my website. anything that i can throw all my thoughts into.

When I'm nervous I count up and down from 10.
And eventually I start signing Feist's "1, 2, 3, 4." and feel better. :lol:

Or, I start picking at any and every skin imperfection I can find. >___<;; And they usually start bleeding, it's pretty awful, tbh. I have a big ass scar on my face now. :( I'm thinking of getting a piercing over it, cos it's in the perfect place for a Monroe...But that's besides the point

tl;dr I'm weird and have weird ways of dealing with crap.

Go in a room, put on headphones, listen to nostalgic or relaxing music. While doing so, I think of all the outcomes that can happen and what could cause them. Then I think about the good things that are coming up.

I can't help it! It's just what I do.. especially when I'm stressed out and have tons of things to do. I just shut down.

Y'know, Liquid Diamond, i'm exactly the same way. Certain strong emotions make me sleepy.

Like if I get really angry and i'm left there to stew in my anger for a period of time, I just start to feel exhausted.

It's like my brain says, "I really don't want to deal with this right now. Night night time." :B

If I'm scared, I try to seek comfort with a friend by like, hugging them or something. But if I'm alone, I just distract myself with something, usually it works.

I get irritated if I'm scared. Nervous? I just get a weird feeling in my chest so I take deep breaths and tell myself I can handle it. It's...interesting..haha!

I don't really get nervous or scared. I get anxious a lot, though. When it gets bad enough, I rock back and forth. I don't know why, but it makes me feel at least a little better.

when i get scared or stressed i usually put on a funny movie or a stupid song to make me feel better.. if that doesnt work then i will call and talk to a friend on the phone... when i get really upset i put my son in the stroller and go for a walk.. just getting fresh air seems to help me out..

I'll lock myself in my room and play gameboy to keep my mind off of things. I usually get scared when I'm watching random things like Slienthill gameplay videos and so on. XP

I don't usually get scared, but when I do, I tend to get waves of hot and cold.
And I don't really have any sort of way to deal with it other than just telling myself it'll be okay.

As for when I'm distraught or upset...
First I cry and get all that out.
The headache it a pain in the >insert cuss word here<, but it does help.
Then -since I'm usually worried/upset about/by people- I talk it out.
Either I just talk to the air and say what I need to say to get everything out, or I talk both people.
After a long while of doing that, curled up in bed, and crying, I sleep and I feel better in the morning.
Most of the time >_>

I tend to either lock up and mentally monologue at myself or I start talking sporadically, and eventually I either have a full blown breakdown in some corner, or I hide before I start hitting everyone near me. My mental Mantra is "RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN" Fight or Flight is a very skewed thing for me
