Oh my. I've never heard of this type of problem before...So I don't know if I'll be much help, but I'll try my best.

Okay, perhaps you could broaden your range of food tastes/dishes? Or try something you haven't. Or make eating like a game. Time yourself on how fast you eat your food? No. That sounds bad. xD Or maybe you should seek help? Maybe there's a medication out there that helps or something.

I really don't know what else to suggest. But I do hope it's not a last effect and that it blows over. D:

i have fibro + juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, as well as a couple of other minor problems. (:

I have JRA as well...got it when I was 9 and am now 22. I'm on Plaquenil and have been on steroids for a year and a half and am tapering off. As the taper goes down...so does my appetite :(

And once, I my normal doctor was out so there was another one and he gave me a perscription for something to help anorexics and I was like, "Didn't you read my forms?!? I'm NOT anorexic! I just can't eat salt! Which makes me skinny, because I'm not eating meat!"
There are a LOT of other things out there...besides sweet and salty. I'm supposed to eat a lot of salt b/c my blood pressure is too low but I hate it. I eat some vegetables but I don't put butter on them or anything and carrots are sweet. You're not gaining weight b/c you aren't getting nutrition. Have you considered seeing a dietitian for your eating? What's the med your doctor tried to give you?

it used to be controlled by steroids, but i found the side effects much worse than the pain and took myself off them.
Steroids really help my symptoms but are so dangerous to be on long term :( I wish I didn't have to give them up. I take a few pain medications as JRA isn't my only problem and I've had to take stomach meds as you're right, arthritis meds are BRUTAL to the GI tract.

i feel a bit stupid posting in here when people have valid medical problems.. ^^;
Hey you could too. We didn't know I had a lot of my medical problems until i was an adult just because people thought I was being dramatic. My mom and sister had similar issues so they thought it was totally normal when it really wasn't. Please try :( I hope you feel better soon.

Some days (but not many) I have nothing for breakfast, nothing for lunch, an average sized dinner, and then I pig out at 9:30-10:00 at night. My friends jokingly accuse me of being anorexic, cuz I'm 108 pounds XD I can't help it I have a small appetite...
You pigging out at night is probably because you AREN'T eating during the day...try eating a little at a time, but eating OFTEN. See if that makes a difference.

My GI tract doesn't work properly...it's erratic and slow and that's because the nerves that control it are messed up and my tract is stretched out because the connective tissue is lax from Ehlers-Danlos. I brush my teeth a lot when I'm not feeling well and I used to have to drink liquid supplements. I also used to have an eating disorder and part of it was because of my medical problems...which turned into flat out refusal to gain weight. Now my appetite is more normal but it's waning again as my GI problems are coming back and I too have been having problems with late night eating just because I don't feel well around dinner time so i don't eat.

I'm thinking of going back for dietary help just because this is so frustrating.

Hope everyone feels better tomorrow ♥
