Laelia gave a sight, a little disppointed with himself. He followed the girl, and, from a nice distance, he said with a serious expression - "Well, if you wish so, I will. But known that you shall surely not survive to these harsh times. Not alone. And also, I bet you only know that your father is west, nothing more. Without my help, you'll die in a few days." -, and mounted his horse, turning away and leaving.

Arebella turned and screamed," Why must you be such a heartless man. " She yelled. Her necklace glowed brightly, and fire shot out of it, and land on the road blocking the man's path. She stared in shock.

Laelia's horse was scared from the sudden fire. Calming it down, Laelia led the horse away from the fire and headed to the girl. Holding Arabella's necklace, he examinated the red stone - "What is the type of the stone you wear?" - he said, an interested and impressed expression was running down his face.

Arebella stepped away from him. " I do not know, it was my mother's it was given to me by my father after her death." She told him.

Laelia had a thoughtfull expression, as if he had seen that stone before, but decided to ignore it - " Well, I believe that knowing what this necklace's stone is will have no importance for now. Got get your horse, for noon shall soon come." - After a long sigh.

Arebella just glared at him, she stormed off to her father's shop. She opened the door, and proceed to look threw the place. She packed another bag of things she might be able to use or sell if the time came. As she looked she spotted a letter addressed to her from her father. " What's this?" She asked aloud. She opened it.

Dear Arabella,

I'm afraid that I won't be able to stay by your side for long, and that if you're reading this I'm probably dead. But have no fear, my darling. This might be a little late, but I have to explain why your mother isn't here. The {blurry}, an important clan that your mot{--------blurry-------}, decided to finally do their last mission, so they called her. But their { --------------blurry-------------- }, and your mother dissapeared. I only had a letter that was saying that your mother probably died. After a few days, another letter came to me, asking were an object that I don't know the name or shape was. I couldn't answer to that letter, and some knights appeared, threatening me, demanding the object. And they kept coming everyday, so i decided to move to another house. But it seems that they've found me again.
I left a bag with the gold we've gathered so far. Please use it.

Arebella wanted to cry her eyes out once more, but she knew she couldn't right now. She tucked the letter away, and grabbed the gold. She also put that away. She went and got the horse, she saddled the brown mare, and attached her few packs to the horse. She packed a few things she would need for the horse and once she was sure anything that could have been made use of was with her, she left.

Laelia was waiting patiently for the girl outside her father's shop. When he saw the load of things Arabella made the horse carry, he said, with a weird expression on the face - "Are you sure you'll make your horse carry all that bagage? It'll surely slow it along the way, even because - he made a brief pause, and retrieved his words - No, nevermind what I said. Shall we get going?" - Turning west, he mounted his horse and headed to the dirty road that would lead them to the next village - Sturt. A nice breeze was gently waving the horses' mane, and there were only few hours left so that noon could finnaly come.

Arebella looked at him," This stuff will be useful later, we are going to need some type of money in order to get food and supplies we may need along the way." She said. " Not to mention Viera, did most of the heavy work here, so she can handle it." She told him firmly.

Laelia turned his head to the girl - "I'm sure money won't be a problem, but if you insist.." - He said, shrugging nonchalantly, and examinating the girl's horse. It seemed, to him, that it would be needed to get the girl another horse, a stronger one, for, by what he senced while trying to track Arabella's father, it woud take them a couple months to find the man, leading them in a long journey. But Laelia wouldn't tell that to the girl, for he thought it would surely end in a discussion.

Time passed, and it was already noon. They had traversed the almost a mile, so Laelia decided to ask - "Are you already hungry? I can see a nice tree from not so far from here, we can go there and have our meal, if so." - He said, pointing to a tree in the middle of a not so far clearing.

Arebella shook her head," I'm fine, we have to keep going. The longer we take the bigger the chance my father will be killed" She told him. Of course she was hungry, but she didn't think that was important. She wasn't prepared to lost another parent.

"As you wish." - Laelia said, for it was the only think he could. Normally, he would advertise the girl, saying something about getting too tired. But this time, he decided to only keep quiet and follow throught the long road.

Arebella raised an eyebrow at that, but said nothing. She was a bit surprised, she was sure he would contest her, he seemed to do that at everything they seemed to bring up. Yet this time, he didn't disagree. The got a bit further down the road, and she already felt the weary from the trip.

Laelia was drinking a bit of his water when he saw some persons, that were aparently merchants. Stoping his brown horse, the guy headed his words to Arabella, saying them in a very low tone, almost in a whisper - "There's a group of persons ahead, do not tell them where we are going or any purpose. I'll tell them we are merchants, if they ask." - and it was possible to see a firm expression during his speech, that changed into a small, kind smile as he asked - "Is it okay?"

Arebella glanced over at Laelia and back at the merchants. She stopped her horse to hear the words he was speaking. She was confused, wondering why the had to be so secretive. " I guess it's alright, is there a reason for this though?" She asked him, keeping her voice soft and low. Until today, she had never left her village before, and it seemed this guy she was traveling with had tons of secrets, or was keeping information from her.

Laelia took a brief moment before replying to the girl, in the same tone, and with a brink of the confusion someone gets when explaining something for the first time in ages in his green eyes - "Uh... how can I say it... I guess you could tell it's for precaution." Turning his head, he looked for something in the horizon, but, after making a very disappointed face and giving two medium sights, he said to Arabella, looking forth to the road - " I believe we'll be in Sturt at noon of the day after tomorrow, if nothing gets in our way. We should be glad that your village isn't very isolated."

Arebella wanted to hit him, it seemed another time where he wouldn't explain. " Fine, if you think that is best" She said with a certain tone to her voice. Really, she was already annoyed by her traveling companion. Well at least she wouldn't have to worry about falling head over hells for this guy, which would be something she'd be concerned about, if she was traveling with someone she found charming, noble, and all that stuff. " Alright" She said softly.

It took around 10 minutes for them to cross ways with the persons that were apparently heading to Lumira, the village he had just left, and, gladly, they didn't said anything but a "good afternoon", something anyone would. Yet they did it in such a strange way, giving him the impression that they were something like possessed slaves, or alike. And after some moments, Laelia asked Arabella, looking at the girl over his left shoulder - "Did you noticed anything awkwardly strange on those persons?" - His greenish cape covered him ad his horse's back, giving the impression that Laelia had only two legs and a head.

Arebella glanced at the men and nodded when they spoke to her. Yet she wondered why they were acting all off. " Something about them does seem odd" She mumbled softly.

"Perhaps they may be sick..." - Laelia shortly answered, and started to think, while listening to the calm, soft thud the horses' paws did while walking, until he was suddenly stopped by his stmach's growl. Surprised, he was caught speechless, for it was clearly possible for anyone near him to hear. And that embarassed him, that were the reason for his speechlessness. "I guess we can stop to eat something, and the horses' will be needing a break, don't you think so?" Laelia said, with an awkward smile, looking at the girl.
