Suddenly, tears started to fall down Kiana's face.

Kane sat on the bed. "Kiana, what's wrong?"

Kiana showed him the letter, wrapping her arms around her legs as she continued to cry.

Kane was in shock. He set Chimera in his playpen, then went and hugged Kiana. "Honey I'm so sorry"

Kiana holds onto Kane tightly, crying into his chest.

Kane held Kiana gently, rubbing her back. "It's ok, just let it all out"

Kiana cried for the next 20 minutes.

Kane wiped away her tears. "Do you need anything? Like a glass of water or some tea?"

Kiana would shake her head "No..."

"Kiana, I know your father meant everything to you. I am very sorry for his passing. You get some rest, I'll take care of Chimera today"

Kiana looks at him "Are you sure?" he did have a point, she did need some rest. Crying made her tired.

"I'm sure. Now get some rest" Kane kissed Kiana on the forehead and went over to Chimera. He took out Chimera's favorite picture book. " This a cat. Can you say cat?" "C-at, cat cat!"

Kiana smiled softly, listening to Kane as he taught their son how to say some words. Slowly her eyes closed and she fell asleep.

Kane showed Chimera a picture of a wolf. "Do you know what this is?" "Momma!" Chimera said with a big smile.

Kiana laid on her side and a mark started showing on her back.

Kane got up to get a snack when he saw the mark on Kiana's back. He rushed over and woke her. "Kiana, there's something on your back!"

Kiana rolled over and looks at him "What?"

"Kiana, there is a glowing mark on your back!"

Kiana would turn and look at her back in the mirror.

Kane examined the mark. "Kiana, what does this mean?"

Kiana smiles softly "Its the mark of my father...."

"The mark of your father? So is it a sign?"

"No. When someone's father passes away. Their mark shows up on their oldest child"

"Does this mean you have to take his place with the elders?"

Kiana glances down "I'm not sure. But it does control my powers"
