^^;

I think that somewhere down the line I might end up chronicalizing our love story in the form of a comic book. Our friend Vella keeps telling calling us her 'shojo manga.'

Awehh, that's such a cute ring! >w<
Very untraditional, but you've gotta get a ring she'll like, traditional or untraditional. (: <3

And hahaha, does your friend really? XD
You guys must have a dramatic/romantic life then~ :p

Oh, I'm familiar with that metalsmith's work. I think they have quite a few pieces on Shanalogic.

Kudos to your girlfriend on being above diamonds. Overrated and often from shameful sources.
Are you familiar with the site Brilliant Earth? They do good stuff. And there's always vintage jewelry.

Cardinal: I'm familiar with Brilliant Earth, but I'm not too fond of their styles as far as I've seen. Metalsmitten actually lives in my area, so I feel more comfortable buying a ring from a local place. Mostly my girlfriend just doesn't like diamonds because she doesn't see the big deal, nor does she think they're pretty... also the diamond industry is kind of full of itself.

Simplicity: we're not really a traditional couple, so I think it would fit us. xD

It was the five years of dancing around "....wanna date me?" that makes it like a shojo manga. All of our friends are the dramatic ones... and miraculously we're the stable people.

It definitely would fit then if you guys aren't traditional. C:

LOL, really?! XDD Did you guys act like a couple during that time? :p But wow, hahaha. I can see where that could make a shojo, with the dramatic friends. So many shojos with down to earth main characters (for the most part) and crazy friends on the side. :XD

I think what you've picked out is a fine choice. And I do think you have the right idea to pick out the real deal together. It's the best course of action. Togetherness and it avoids disappointment.

We didn't actually start acting like a couple until we moved into this apartment. One of our friends (and his girlfriend) was causing us to lose our ability to function as a couple. We started falling apart because there was just so much tension in the air...

But after a REALLY nasty falling out between us and our 'friends,' we've been closer than ever. And the friend apologized for being such a dick and leaving his friends out to dry in favor of a floozy he'd only known for six months that didn't even like him.

Now people kind of look up to us because we've outlasted everyone else as a couple...

He also, in the six years that I have known him, has had six significant others. All of which started out okay, and then went crazy for some reason. In the end, I think he's just one of those guys that turns people into nutcases.

Which is why I'm glad I turned him down when he asked me out...

Haha. I'm the same way, Ameika. I've just developed a habit of being like "What? No, just keep going, Biggles"
Just last month I had someone I've known for two years ask me what my sexual preference was. Poor guy. He was so worried he would offend me by asking.

In my case it's just that I don't have much of a libido, so it's not apparent either way.

CArdinal: d'aww. That's too cute. xDD

Sexuality is one of those topics that we're like... constantly talking about in our group... so no one ever really asks. Jason kind of... found out the hard way because I don't really talk about it much. xD

Yeah, I just had to burst out laughing when he asked. I was starting to get nervous, because he was prefacing it with all these apologies, so I thought he had some serious confessions to make to me.

I had to get out of the habit of apologizing so much. It was to the point where Vella started saying "don't apologize so much. It makes me want to hit you in the face."

I tend to be over apologetic as well. I like to chalk it up to the Canadian in me.
