Ooooh, so less than 2 months til 12-21-12. Anyone have any ideas what might happen, if anything? XD

A lot of people are going to freak out. Like they did for the Y2k bug.

You think so? Most likely. I wonder if it's worse to be flying or traveling just before the 21st or after?

I would say just before as that's when the panic will be.

Hopefully by the time the 22nd rolls around and people have calmed down some, it should be ok to fly. My oldest daughter is coming here for Christmas and the options for her ticket were the 21st or the 22nd. >.> I chose the 22nd without really thinking about it too much.

i dont wanna talk about it. why do people come up with those doomsday theories. it just pisses me off because they scare so many people into thinking the world will end. nobody will knows when its really gonna happen. how could somebody predict that shit? i think it will just happen and we won't know when or have time to prepare. we'll all just get wiped out. there isn't gonna be any zombie crap or anything like that. we'll just all die like the dinosaurs. i could get religious about it, but i won't. I really don't think it will be in our lifetime or anytime in the near future.

Well people just wonder why it was that the Mayan calendar just stopped, and instead of using logic or anything, I mean we have been studying the universe for quite some time, they just jump to comclusions that that means that the world is going to end. There is a very reliougs AND scientific reason to it and that's because we'll be passing into the new part of the galaxy, which is governed by a different star. History tells us that when this happens, a prophet is born (December 25th, of a virgin, it's happened way more than once) that leads humanity into a new era of religious awakening. But hey, some crazy zombie crap would at least make it interesting for a while XD.

But seriously. You guys should watch the Ancient Alien Series, if you haven't already. I'm not religious, but I don't believe there is no god/s. I think there might be something up there, whether it be a god or something else. Anyway, in the ancient alien series, it talks about ancient civilizations (like the Egyptians, Mayans, ect) believing that Aliens are gods and those aliens gave them tools and gave them the knowledge about how to make those big ass buildings, that would have been impossible for them to make back then, and even really difficult for us to build now. That also includes weapons and other machines. They also explore things like the stories in the bible and other religion's stories. They think that they might be based off of things the ancient aliens did that the ancient people interpreted into things their gods did. I can't explain it all (and I probably haven't done the best job explaining it), so it's really something you should watch even if you don't believe it. it's fascinating. Although you may think they're crazy and making stuff up, they look at artifacts and stories and think that they look or sound like spaceships or people coming on the planet in space suits. Like I said, it's fascinating.

Anyway, the people on the show theorizes that the Mayans built the calender and predicted that these aliens are going to come back on that date. I wonder if maybe that could be true? I honestly prefer believing that then that we'll all die and turn into zombies.

Hubby and my mom both watch that series momo. I just don't like to think about it. I'd rather just go on my merry way through life and if something happens at least i was happy when I died.

Yeah, no matter what does or doesn't happen it's completely out of our control. But it's crazy, I remember my Drama teacher taling about it in my first year of HS, 1998. So He mentioned it and I'm like, that's SOOOOO far from now... right on your back doorstep now XD

momo: I have a book that has a similar idea. There's a lot of research to back up the findings though, from across the globe. It's interesting XD

llonka: no way, give your opinion. I was just trying to calm you down but I guess I just made it worse. I'd hate for someone to be worrying about it. Either way, we have no control.

Personally I think if the world was going to end it wouldn't give us any warning or let us predict it. *shrugs*

well i don't want to get too churchy about it though. i don't want to offend anyone.

I'd like to know the "churchy" opinions :D Might be something that we hadn't considered before or something.
