First question. Has anyone actually read these books.
It is simply delicious. If you like things like vampires and other worldly creatures then this series is just for you.
The thing that is great about this series is that one it isn't sexually biased, (Yes there are some same sex romance mentioned inthe story. As well as hetero. It's not the normal teen drama angsty stuff that most people are reading today. Not saying there's something wrong with twilight. I actually like the books. But the mortal instruments tale has them beat. Plot with subplots it'll be tough to find a plot hole in the story.
The series is pure fun. You're dealing with lovers, vampires, werewolves, angels, magicians, alliances and trust and betrayal. I won't go deep into the plot or what the story is about. But if you're looking for something with a little action border lining slightly creepy and very vivid detailing then this series is just for you.
Yay! Cassandra Clare! I do like these books, actually, I love them. Hehehe, Magnus is my favourite, and he's even awesome in the Infernal Devices books. Have you read those?
I have not. Sadly I've been lacking in recieving any updates about new books that the author has come out with. Can you tell me what they are about. And the individual title, so I can find them later on.
Hi! I've read these books. I love love love Alecs. And Magnus. :3 Other than that though, I honestly can't say I enjoyed the books. In fact, they made me rather angry. xD;; I mean, I went into it knowing that there was going to be a happy(ish) ending, but the process of getting there...ohmygosh. It was just really frustrating. x_x

Honestly the way I see it is that the author had a whole bunch of plans that she wanted to shove into the story. But seriously o tee or young adult wants to read smething with more than 700 pages. So the boks got cut up just to tell the story. Although I admit I was thrown for a loop when Clary thought that she and Jace were related. And thought the angel scee were they klled the angel was pretty clever and sad.
But the series sn't over yet so I have n rea idea what's istore for the 4th book.
The first book in infernal devices is called Clockwork Angel, and it's mostly about the past. So far I haven't found that many links to the other series, so I don't think they're too connected. As for the thing about no teen or young adult wanting to read something that's more than 700 pages... I'm sixteen, and I generally pick books up depending on their size. The longer it is, the more likely it was published on merit rather than quick sales, as while thicker books put some people off, they can still be very popular once people realise that they're worth reading.
I would have to say you're different from most people I talk to. I admit to liking books that are thick. But I also take notice that most people-when I'm in the bookstore- will point at the cover, look at the thickness and then put it back down. It's intimidating sometimes. Because there is always the chance that the book can be horrible and you just wasted a couple hours reading something you're most likely not going to back and check to see if there is a sequel.
I adored the books! I might actually read them again,just as a refresher.the fact that there where so many twists and turns in the plot was very nice.And the Clare's take on vampires was a very refreshing one.
It was cool in my opinion that Simon didn't die when the sun came out. Because he sucked Jace's blood. And since Jace is part angel it works for Simon now. But it's sad that he isn't really accepted by the other vamps and you can already tell he loves the werewolf.
On a side note. Was I the only one who thought it was hot when Simon was sucking Jace's blood. Not because it was blood- eww, but it's hard not to think about a cute vamp touching a sexy part angel creation.
Although. I always end up thinking about pairing off who and honestly thinking. If I were to ever write a story, I'd kind of want to take Clary out. I mean there was nothing really wrong with her. The way her personality is just kind of clicked me wrong sometimes. For some reason I would think of Sakura from Naruto. Or Kikyo from Inuyasha. It wasn't a very likable personailty for me. At least not in the beginning.

But I would definitely pair Simon and Jace together. And of course throw in a little Magnus and Alex here and there. And Clary's brother was nice to think about. Just I can't figure out who to pair him with.
Darn and I haven't read that series yet. Man and if it's a nude scene. *Sigh* guess I gotta go get those books. Is the spoiler inside the Clockwork series?
I loved the Mortal Instruments series, it was very well written and although it got more predictable towards the end, it was still a great read. I hated Simon, but Magnus and Jace were great characters. I also loved the way the story flowed. It was just really enjoyable, so much so that I even forced my sister to read it after me, which is a challenge in itself because she doesn't really enjoy reading like I do.
Clockwork Angel, however, was pretty disappointing. It's not very well thought out, in my opinion. It seems she was just throwing out an idea without really thinking it through. The story isn't very good and it's very predictable. A big difference between her first and second series'. I still have hopes for the 2nd book, however.
Hmm what makes it predictable.
I haven't read it yet, but could it be that since the reader knows a little bit about the past that that is why it is predictable.
I enjoyed Simon I have to say. I mean he was a little bit whiny and the damsel of the story I but I enjoyed him.
