Someone in the thread I stole that from said that text-speak and "Ebonics" are an insult to our intelligence as a species. How do you feel about that point?

I think it can't possibly be an insult to our species since ebonics refers to "black English" which isn't used by everyone in our species. Also, I find the term racially unsettling in a modern context. Also, I don't believe that anything can be an insult to our species that is such an insignificant part of our life. Language is an organized system of interpreting sound, the rules of which are arbitrary and highly malleable. Standard English that so many people are trying to maintain has only been around for a few hundred years.

Also, people who make generalizations that broad are generally kind of fuck heads (I'm a hypocrite)

I'm glad you feel that way too. The person who posted it is just one of those people who goes into discussion forums and makes waves. I wonder if he doesn't just go around making asshole remarks to see how people react. He also got into a huge debate about the denotation and connotation of the term "devolve." Stupid.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday; Karen gets put out and goes upstairs if I'm on my computer while she's downstairs, and I need all the social interaction I can get these days.

So, I slept straight through the night last night. It was strangely less restful (meaning I woke up more tired) than when I wake up three or four times a night. Maybe that's just because that's what I'm used to?

In any case, I had a dream and in the dream there were two consecutive days where EXACTLY the same thing happened to me, and for whatever reason it made me scream bloody murder, and no one seemed to notice. And then I was going to take a shower but my towel was inexplicably smaller than it usually was and wouldn't wrap around me all the way. I thought Karen had done something to it (though I don't know what.) Ho hum, strange dreams...what else is new?

That sounds kind of ... controlling of her. I don't know.

Maybe you were doing something else that was more tiring? Like talking to yourself in your sleep or moving around a bit? It wouldn't be the first time.

What an odd dream, I had a dream too! .... I don't remember it now, I feel like it was something romantic? Durn.

It's almost manipulative of her, except I don't think she knows I care, so I don't count it.

I would be surprised if that were the case, it was just rather annoying to wake up and be like, "Hey! I slept ALL night! And I'm totally exhausted."

Finally filed my FAFSA yesterday, thank god. Should be finding out about financial aid within the next few days. Huge stress off my mind. :)

I'm glad you got to stay in bed until 11; that's the way some of my best days have started.
