I recently got a Smashing Pumpkins album and I've been really digging this song "Death From Above." It doesn't sound much like you'd expect with that name. It's melancholy and sad, but with this quietly apocalyptic drum beat under it.
That was a lovely song. Indeed quite broody, but he's got a beautiful voice. I've heard Depeche Mode a few times and I always like them, but I never remember to get around to looking into more of their stuff. Could you recommend a good album of theirs?
Go check out the first post on the first page! It gives the basic idea of what this thread is about. It is music appreciation as well as sharing music with each other to broaden our musical horizons a little.
Yeah, I just basically made this to share music, cause i'm always looking for new things to listen to. ;D

In me opinion, I think the album that appeals to most is Violator.
Music for the Masses is great too and I really like Black Celebration.
"Girl watch out you stink ho"
I dunno why, but I thought that last line was hilarious. Maybe it was just the context.
Anyway...so THAT'S LMFAO. I've never heard anything from them up until now and I must say I thought that song and video was pretty funny and cool. I'm definitely gonna add LMFAO to my song pool.
I only saw the videos recently, but I realized that I've heard their music a lot actually. I hear them play in clubs and even stores around here sometimes, which is a little inappropriate at times given the content of their songs. But I suppose not many people understand English well so it's okay. I was certainly surprised when I was shopping at a somewhat classy clothing story and "I'm Sexy and I Know It" came on.
Still not as bad as the hardcore rap lyrics that I hear from time to time while out shopping or attending public events. Nothing is ever censored, so it was hard not to laugh when the music was encouraging all the bitches to give their men blow jobs during a pro basketball game.

Oh wow, the guys in LMFAO are uncle and nephew? That's pretty cool. *decided to look them up*
I think I heard "Yes" on Pandora, but because it wasn't youtube or anything I didn't see the vid. xD Because it WAS on Pandora, I got to see some cool bands and artists that were similar to LMFAO.
You can find Yes on youtube. :) I'd link to it, but I'm at work now and it's probably best if I don't browse Youtube for questionable videos here. :ninja:
I love Pandora. :D The radio puts out terrible music.. Actually, I guess I shouldn't say "terrible." It's just "not to my taste."
I've been listening to the Telepopmusik radio there for a while, but switched back over to Massive Attack.. It's better for working to for me. :) I'm surprised at some of the songs that have different names, but are essentially the same song. Or, at least, they use the same melodies... I forgot to look them up to see if they're tribute songs or remixes or what.
LMFAO is pretty ridiculous, I must admit. I prefer the ridiculousness of Flight of the Concords, though.... xP
Haha, yay! I was listening to their songs last week, until I realized that's all that was in my head. I couldn't even get to sleep because I would hear their voices singing haha. ><
