Howdy: What kind of music do you usually listen to?
Sorry it's taken so long to answer this. :sweat:
I listen to different kinda things. There's so many genres and subgenres, I get mixed up.
So uh...
Some straight up rock, I suppose. What's called alternative.
90's alternative.
80's modern rock and new wave stuff.
Some 70's and 60's rock.
Punk. Mostly older punk. Not today's pop punk. Blegh. Horror punk pleases me. ;D
Psychobilly. I love psychobilly. Not too big on rockabilly, but I listen to it sometimes. Do like punkabilly. And popabilly can be fun.
Sometimes surf. But I tend to lean toward horror surf or surfabilly.
Industrial.
Some electronica. I don't often listen to trance, but I like it sometimes.
Some goth. Also some of what's called dark cabaret.
Some metal. Mostly alt. metal. Sometimes what's called drone metal or doom or stoner metal. I can't do really super hardcore like thrash or death or black metal, etc.
I don't listen to classical too often, but I like it.
Psychedelic rock.
Some foreign bands, of various genres.
I do listen to a lot of indie, but that's not what you would consider a genre, really.
And other stuff I suppose. :P
... What kinda things do you listen to?

I've been sort of getting into electronica/techno/maybe a little bit of dubstep. I've always liked Daft Punk, but I'm listening to a little more from them. I'm also really liking Deadmau5 at the moment.
Him. :lol: Yeah he's pretty big right now. The most current thing I saw was when Deadmau5 performed with the Foo Fighters at the Grammys. I think Deadmau5 is as close to dubstep as I'll be willing to go near. :P
@Demo: Bummer, I'm at work so I think I failed and picked the wrong link. XD I'll try to fix it when I get home, but you can find it on Youtube. It's called "Ghosts n Stuff". (It was pretty popular a few years back, so maybe you've already seen it.)
Ohh yeah I know that song. I prefer More Ghosts n Stuff and I particularly like this live video even though it was poorly filmed. xD Deadmau5 really knows how to get a crowd riled up.
I've decided I'm going to try to get into a local band called The Goblin Market. They had an album about a decade ago inspired by the Pre-Raphaelites (perfect for me, right?) but it had all the issues that a premier work can have. And then last year they put out one based on the works of Joyce Carol Oates, which was pretty dang good. Now, they have an album coming out inspired by Emily Bronte. Read a write up in the paper about it, they are all for it. So, yeah. I may yet be a local sourcing hipster. Hooray.
Look at this little gem I found on youtube!
Man this brings back my childhood. I never listened to enough Def Jam to get into it as a kid, but I still like this song.
Finally updated my post/video after almost a year. O_o;
Howdy:: Aw man I used to dance with my grandpa to that song when I was a little kid. You know, standing on his shoes and "dancing". :)
I miss my grandpa. ><;;
I think everyone has a song that reminds them of someone. Like I associate 'Man in Black' by Johnny Cash with my Grandpa. And 'Hound Dog' by Elvis, because he used to sing it. :)
