She raised her brow a little, "How many years do you think that is? Have you kept track?" Humans changed before his eyes? Just how long was this thing up here... And how was he able to live this long?

"if I had to say when I was bron I would say around the 1600. So I would say a lot of years." he said as he looked at her and smiled. He was very old but he was still you g inside.

Her jaw dropped in shock, "Wow..." The 1600's??? That's incredible! That's impossible! What was he, suddenly before Alexi could stop herself she asked the same question she had been thinking, "What are you?"

The beast had been waiting for that question and looked at her, "I am simply a man under a curse. This curse trapped ke in this shape and keeps me alive till I can break it." he said as he looked at her and bet she didn't believe him. Curses didn't exist in this time.

She tilted her head to the side, "A curse? Who put a curse on you? And why?"
Normally she wouldn't believe in curses.... But she wouldn't also believe this if it weren't happening right before her very eyes, she was glad though that he reacted as well as he did to her question

The beast knew she wouldn't believe this, "a witch put it on me since I wasntbeing a nice person. She said I could break it once I found someone who could look beyond what I look and like me for who is inside." he said as he looked at her.

She nodded, "It sounds simple enough... So then why hasn't the curse been lifted?"

The beast smirked, "well for one look at me, no one wants to be close and no one wants to me in acreepy old castle.there are many other reasons too." he said as he looked at her.

She sighed, "I will admit, the horns, claws, and fangs are a little intimidating... But I still don't see that as a reason that no one would want to get to know you." She looked around the library, "And castle's are amazing."

The beast chuckled as he heard her, "true but when ever I tried to get close to someone they would run away from me or the towns people would find out about me and trie to kill me. So I just stopped coming out of the castle." he said as he looked at her.

She sighed, "A person is smart... But people are dumb... They'll believe anything that they are told..." She looked at him, "Well you musn't be all bad... 'Cause I'm still in one piece."

The beast chuckled, "I would have to agree with you there and your right I am not that bad. People just think that since I look like this I have a bad attitude to go with it." he said as he looked at her.

She chuckled lightly, wait... She was chuckling? At something he said?
She looked at him again, "What is your name? Your real name not the nickname that villagers have given you?"

The beast had to think about this for a little while, "it had been a while since I have used a name but I think my name is Aden." he said as he looked at her but wasn't to sure.

She nodded, "Adam... It's a nice name." Alexi said with a kind smile, this wasn't nearly as bad as she thought it would be... She wondered why he was sudden;y being so nice to her... If he didn't like to have visitors... Or was that just an act? Either way.. It was a little confusing

Adam smiled at her, "yes it is nice and your the first to call me this in a very long time." he said as he smiled at her. It was the first time that anyone was ever using his name and for once he liked it.

She chuckled lightly, then she looked at her watch, "Oh... I should be getting home soon... I've still got some homework I need to do." She said with a sigh, she really didn't want to go

Adam nodded as he looked at her, "if you need to leave then go ahead, your welcome to come back tomorrow." he said as he looked at her and smiled.

She hesitated before getting up, "Well.. Thank you so much for your hospitality... It was very nice." She turned to walk out of the room

Adam smiled and then walked with her out of the room. He then got worryed as he opened the door for her to leave, "you wont tell anyone about me right?" he asked since he knew he would go to a zoo or something.

Alexi turned to look at him, smirking, "Even if I did tell anyone.. I highly doubt they believe me.... But don't worry, your secret is safe with me."

THe beast smiled and nodded, "thank you.. that means alot." he said as he looked at her and couldn't thank her enough.

She nodded her head, "No.. Thank you." Then she walked out of the castle and made her way back home, a huge smile on her face the entire way there. He was nothing like she had expected him to be... He seemed nice; just in need of someone who would listen to him and would see past his appearance.
When she got home she started to research curses and what it would they would do to the person who it was put on, then she tried to look for 'cures' for some curses

The beast closed the door once he was sure that she was gone and smiled. He was glad to he actually had one friend in the world now. He then headed into his bedroom and curled up on the bed. He was tired after today and he was soon fast asleep.

Alexi on the other hand stayed up for hours, researching and studying everything about curses. But after all the sites started to giver her the same thing she decided to call it quits and went to bed, a huge smile on her face as she closed her eyes; this had been an amazing day... And she would go back tommorow to give him some more food, and a new book he could read
