(sorry, same net problems... Nwo connection for days TT)

Divine clutched her neck and staggered down the street, her blood running down her body and causing her to shiver when a cold wind blew. Her attacker was no where in sight... And neither was sanctuary... The lunatic had attacked her and tried to kill her by ripping out her throat. But then he'd done something strange... He'd made her drink his blood. Suddenly a burst of power had infused her with the strength to push him away. And right now all she could remember was her name and the attack. Where was she? Would she survive the night? Lord, what had she ever done to deserve to be killed? Especially in suh a gruesome manner...

She fell upon a bed of leaves... Her pale skin illuminated by the moonlight, looking up at th night sky she admitted that it was beautiful. And that she'd probably never see it again as she closed her eyes on a sad sigh.

(S'alright, I understand. My net is friekin' ridiculous nowadays. :/)

A soft melody floated out into the still, night air from an open window of an apartment building, golden light from its interior raining down upon a small, square spot of the brick building across the alley from it. Victor leaned back into his loveseat lazily, relaxed, with his eyes closed, classical music playing, and a glass of wine in his hand. Only when a small gust of wind entered his small studio apartment did he open his eyes quite suddenly, stirred by a very familiar, and oh so sweet, aroma. Following his nose, Victor slowly set down his glass of wine, turned off his stereo, and walked over to his window. The sight astonished him.

A rather beautiful form lay upon a bed of leaves near the side of the street, which was not known for its traffic. Victor's eyes widened as realization hit him very quickly, observing her weakened form and blood coming from the neck. A vampire attack? But how? There are not many rogues in town, how did this go unnoticed? The thought ticked him off, that a vampire had gone unnoticed in this area, but his main priority was now the girl. Victor rushed down his apartment building's fire escape, not caring that his neighbors may see, because most were asleep at this time. Victor approached the girl quickly once he hit ground level, kneeling over her form with concern upon his facial expression. Her eyes were closed, but she was breathing, and very much alive. Has she been given a her attackers blood? Is she turning?

Victor was confused, but nevertheless, it was apparent to him that she was weak, they were alone, and he had just fed. Clearing his throat, he very gently placed a firm hand upon her back, pulling her very tenderly up into a sitting position so that her face went to the junction of his neck, exposed by his unbuttoned shirt. "I know what happened. Do not be afraid, I shall not harm you... but you are weak. Drink." he insisted, "I can see that you need it."

Divine could not fathom or really hear the words spoken to her by some nameless form which held her close. All she knew is that she felt safe, she felt a slight pang run through her body. In no way related to the pain she'd experienced earlier. She hissed in a breath and groaned softly, fluttering her eyes in an attempt to see. 'Drink...' it had said, drink what? She felt a strange movement inside her as she smelled more of what was around her. Death and blood, she gave into her base instinct and sank her elongated teeth in the source of her new torment.

La petite morte... The little death as the French would say, and how you could describe the way her body reacted upon recievig what it needed. A convulsion almost threw her from her savior as she gasped in pain. Her insides felt like they were in fire. And Lord above help her she could do naught to put it out of her mind. She bite down so hard with the next wave that her mouth began go bleed. Her nails clutched at the person holdig her in desperation, in agony, in a plea for death. Tears of blood ran down her cheeks as a scream rent through her mind.

Victor let out a long, steady breath as the newly-turned girl followed her instincts and bit down onto his neck. It hurt, sure, but more than anything, the feeling of another's fangs in his own neck made him uncomfortable. Nevertheless, he held perfectly still for the girl, well aware that she needed this more than he. Then the convulsion came, and Victor couldn't bring it upon himself to watch her form any longer, knowign that feeling. That pain, that sudden indescribable longing for death that came when the barrier between near death and walking dead is finally broken. He shivered at that rememberance, pitying the girl immediately, his arms very tenderly going to rest upon her back in an almost-hug. Victor didn't know her, nor did he know the circumstances that broguht ehr to this situation, but he felt-- well, an obligation to help her. She would need all teh help she could get, and he wouldn't hesitate to offer it, this he knew well already.

Reality again changed his priorities, figuring that this may be an odd scene to watch for a human, and would most definitely be hard to explain. He made a decision to take this elsewhere, sweeping his arms underneath the girl to pick her up carefully, making sure she still had access to his neck. Victor then proceeded to make his way back over to the fire escape, moving back up the metal staircase slowly and steadily before ending up carrying the girl into his apartment. He would sit down on his couch, now, placing the girl in a position where she was leaning across him, but she was not on his lap. Victor was a respectful guy, and knew what that would have looked like when she came to her senses.

When she could no longer drink, because as the pain slid away for a few minutes, she was too weak. With a sigh she felt her limbs become dead weight as she dropped her head onto the shoulder of her savior. Wait, someone had saved her. Her mind, the still human aspect of it reeled in an effort to think. Maybe this was actually her killer, or an accomplice. She didn't want to die, nor did she want to be at whoever's mercy this was. She had to find a way out, an all too familar situation...

"P-please! If y-you really saved m-me, t-take me to a h-hospital!" she begged in a husky voice that did not sound her own. She needed medical attention, and was praying that whoever held her so gently was not involved but really her savior. But again the pain came, almost wrenching her smaller body from his arms with the force of it. Her thoughts shattered as she felt her soul being torn apart.

Victor let out a soft sigh as her fangs finally let go of his neck, allowing her head to fall lax against his shoulder. His gentle gaze stayed upon her form, his expressions calm, but his thoughts were heavy. What happened to her? Was it one of the few living here, or was it truly a rogue? Whichever it had been, he knew that he would have to seek them out and demand some form of justice for this ridiculous behavior. Letting out a low sigh at her demand, Victor's voice became stern, "I apologize, but I cannot take you to a hospital. No mortals must be involved."

Then, glancing over at her bloody neck, Victor's hands gently lifted her from him, setting her down again as he stood so that she was laying on the couch. Quietly, he made his way over to the other side of the room, taking a washcloth from the side of the sink of his kitchenette, and wetting it with warm water. Victor then wrung out any excess water, and produced a first aid kit from his cabinet. Then, approaching the girl again, he kneeled down beside the couch. "The pain will go soon." he said simply, lifting the damp washcloth to her neck and very carefully dabbing away the excess blood around her wound.

"Please... I don't want to die..." she pleaded softly. Though she could see the sincerity in his eyes and hear it in his voice. She cuddled closer to him. How was she goin to deal with this? She had no clue what was going on. 'I've gotten into a big situation?' she wonders in a confused state.

Should she really trust this man? Or should she just be relzed becuse he saved her? She was just going to figure it out when she felt better?

Victor's eyebrows furrowed together when she began to plead with him. She didn't want to die... Well, technically she's not dead, but-- but.... Victor let out a deep sigh before hi gaze went back to her neck, now producing bandages from the cabinet beside the couch and dressing her wound with very careful, quick-working hands. After a couple of minutes, he'd be done, setting the bandages and the damp washcloth aside. As she moved in closer to him, Victor was very surprised, to say the least, but did not make a move to pull himself away. Instead, one of his hands came to rest on her back. "You won't... die." he spoke in a quieter voice now, I promise."

(It's an Angel!!! O0O)

"Please, I don't have much... I'll give you anything..." her voice is horse and very much grating to even her own ears now as i sqeaks past her vocal cords. She wants to say more, to do more, BE more. And if she died, it wouldn't be possible. This man was her only chance for survival. Nothing seemed more important than convincing this man to save her life. Her body was slowly getting colder, though she didn't notice; a slightly numb feeling creeping over her limbs as her lids became heavy and her consiousness dimmed. She slumped against him heavily. Then she was out, her soul fled to the other side. But then it was pulled back almost forcefully, and slammed against a barrier. Her body convulsed as she entered the final stage of the Change.

( xD HI! *waves dork-ily.*)

Victor merely cringed at her words, his eyebrows drawn together as he watched her quietly now. It was no use trying to explain what he'd done, though he did know that she was indeed 'dying' in most senses of the word. As her body stilled and fell limp, he sighed and stood, "When you wake, everything will be different," he whispered, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face before leaving her side to go into the kitchen. He wanted to think that he'd done the right thing. A girl was attacked by a vampire, he saw her dying, he changed her in order to save her. Could they have made it to a hospital? Perhaps, he mused. How would they have explained this, though? They would've that it was some freak accident and wouldn't have been able to stop her death in time. Sighing again, he shook his head at himself. What's done is done, no time for regrets. Pouring himself a glass of wine, he sat down in a chair across the room from her, his free hand rubbing one of his temples as he drank.

(Oh a schoolgirl...! Yay!)

Divine gave a soft gasp as she opened her eyes and started breathing. Her eye sight was sharper, her hearing better. She sniffed a little and smelled the scent of male everywhere around her. It was surrounding her, but instead of choking her it soothed her. Then her memories of before she blacked out came rushing back. That guy, he hadn't taken her to the hospital but he'd bandaged her neck and held her close to sooth her as she had been in pain. But where was he now, she concentrated and toned down everything. Then she listened and found him a nearby room. She groaned as she threw her legs over the side of the couch and stood up on wobbly legs. Damn but this was going to be a bit hard.

(I do a lot of outfit changes. xD)

Victor heard the soft rustling noise indicating movement coming from his living room, and peeked his head out from the doorway of a room he'd been in. Smiling to see her awake, and even more, sitting up and trying to stand, he slipped out of the room, leaning back casually against its doorframe. "Sleep well?" he asked, a grin on his face, "I'd imagine you're rather confused." Sighing softly, one of his hands rose to rub the back of his head as he made his way over to sit in a chair near the couch where he had left her. "First off, do you feel alright?" he asked, looking over the bandaged wounds from where he sat.

"What happened first off everything is a bit fuzzy. And I'm as alright as someone who just..." her voice trailed off in realization and horror. With a plunk she dropped into the couch. There was no way, right? It couldn't have really happened. That was just a crazy dream brought on by her fever from blood loss. Wait, with the amount of blood she'd lost. She should be dead. Dead, there was that word again. "Dead, death, dying. Loss of life... Ending of a cycle... What the hell happened?" she asked finally, her memories shielded, probably from self-preservation. Why was this happening to her?

Victor raised a hand to the side of his face, and rubbed it, sighing. "You died last night." Then, shifting his sitting position, he uncrossed his legs and instead took to sitting cross-legged. "I was sitting there, by my window," he gestured to the couch where she sat, "and a beautiful, horrid, smell drifted up and into my apartment. Naturally, I looked outside, and you were laying there, dying. It looks as if it were quite possible that you were attacked by a vampire." He spoke the word casually, but eyes her carefully to gage her reaction. "Well, it was more than an assumption really, and you were out there dying until I went and got you. The assailant had meant to just leave you dead, but I..." This was the part that he was truly unsure of how she'd react- "I changed you, so to speak." In case she didn't quite believe him, he had a plan, albeit crude. Fishing around in the cabinet next to the couch, he withdrew a see-though plastic packet of blood, the warm, thick liquid itself. He'd toss it at her with a grin.

Vampire... that wasn't possible... "Hey, don't go making up stories cuz you have nothing better to do. I don't like that type of thing." She hissed softly, her hackles rising. Everything about him said that he was telling the truth, but she couldn't believe it. Vampires, a far fetched fantasy idea like Twilight. "You're not some type of Twilight fanatic are you? Are you going to tell me I sparkle now too?" she said with a harsh laugh. None of this was possible, everything had to be a lie or a trick of some sort. There was no way in all the world that vampires were actually real.

Victor stared into her yes for a long moment after she spoke before sighing and standing up, then smiling over at her, "I am proud to admit that you do not sparkle." He laughed softly, shaking his head before walking over to sit next to her, though minding his distance. Taking the bag of blood he'd throw her way, he ripped it open, looking at it longingly for a moment himself before offering it to her, "Come, now. You must have noticed differences when you woke up. Your senses are heightened, and I believe you'll find a particular interest in this." THen shrugging a little, "Of course, perhaps, if you don't believe me, we could always look at your dental records," he added with a slightly amused smile as he pulled down the side of his shirt a bit for her to see the small mark on his neck that he'd received from her.

Divine clapped a hand to her mouth and shook her head in horror. Her skin ran even paler than before, now bordering on bone white. It took everything she had not to shout and scream and cry hysterically. This was insane. No words came to mind and all she could do was cry silently. Why would she have believed it without proof? And she knew for a fact since her senses had become sharper that he and her had been the only ones in the room for a while. She couldn't compute this, but instead of fainting she began to shake her head and to cry silently to herself, sinking into the ground.

victor sat there awkwardly for a few moments before letting out a soft sigh, standing, and going to sit on the couch next to her. "I know it's hard to think possible, it took me a while myself, when it happened." Hesitantly, wondering if she needed comfort as she had last night, one of his hands went to gently touch her shoulder. "It's... really not so bad, I mean..." He stopped there, not sure how to go on from that point and not sure how she would react. She might go nuts, who knew?

Divine shook her head more. Truth rang pure in each of his words, but she didn't want to believe. The things that were possible and impossible had always been something she questioned, but now. Now she wanted to be on the impossible side, this shouldn't have happened to her. All she did was her job, go home, pay bills. She never harmed anyone, albeit that maybe her line of work did hurt people. She never did it intentionally. "Why me? I remember starting home from the club, then a customer was following me. I tried to shake him, but he never stopped finally I gave in and ran... And he jumped on me, then my neck hurt and I was bleeding. I was trying to stumble home... You can't really be serious. Vampires are supposed to be mere legends!" she cried, thinking that it was so unfair for this to happen to her.

She was a good person, never said a mean thing to anyone. Never argued nor insisted on her way. What had she done, who had she wronged? This was a fate WORSE than death. She wasn't even dead, or alive. She was undead, perpetually between this shore and the next for as long as she managed to live... Why?

Victor physically cringed at her words, withdrawing his hand from her shoulder to lean back onto the couch, a breath of a sigh escaping his lips. What have I done? No, no- I did not do anything. I... I saved her... No. Unsure of himself, he stood, hesitantly lingering there, "You may stay if you wish. I'd... suggest it, in fact. There's a guest bedroom down the hall, towels are under the sink in the bathroom, food in the kitchen..." So, the last one would make sense- sure, but he wasn't thinking very clearly with the doubt. "I'm gonna catch a nap. Please, please, just... stay." His voice trail doff as he headed into his bedroom quietly, closing the door gently behind him before flopping himself down onto his bed and closing his eyes for a moment. I may have ruined her life. Tsh, well, her after life... If she doesn't stay, there'll be trouble, I'm sure.

Divine didn't want this, but as soon as she'd heard his pain, she herself cringed. He was her savior, and her maker. He had done it to save her, but her human mind could not comprehend that. She knew however that even should she choose to ignore everything else, she should make amends with him. She had hurt him in her own pain, and could feel it like a pulsing wound upon her heart. "I, I'm sorry... please... I... C-... Can I sleep beside you tonight, I'm afraid." she called softly through the door, wondering now what was wrong with her.

Who in the world asked some strange guy to just sleep beside her? Her stupid self did, but she knew instinctively that he wasn't dangerous and she wasn't worried. Everything would eventually work out. She would, she would get used to everything sooner or later. She didn't want to hurt him for some odd reason, her empathic sense was very strong and very much more of an actually tangible thing now.

Hearing footsteps approaching his door, A small smile lit up Victor's face. Sure, he'd gotten a bit touchy there, but she deserved to be angry, frustrated, scared, whatever she felt. It was going to be a struggle for a long time, he knew. By the time she'd finished talking through the door, he was up out of bed and opening it, looking down at her with gentle eyes as he let out a soft sigh. "Yes, you may," he began, then stopped himself. "I'm sorry. I wouldn't wish this on anyone..." He stopped hesitantly, giving her a small smile, "Come here," he walked into his room, patting one side of his bed before going to fish another blanket from one of his dresser's drawers. Laying down casually on his back, he'd use the blanket he'd just gotten for himself, the comforter he had on the bed meant for her. He was trying to be a gentleman by this, not wanting to intrude in her personal space, yet, staying close to her.

She sat down on the side of the bed that he had patted and somehow, when she laid her head on the pillow. She was instantly asleep, curled up on her side and huddled into a ball. Everything was black for her no dreams, nor nightmares. It felt like oblivion, and she didn't like it. She was alone and afraid, just like always. But there was someone by her side, whether by mistake or fate, and she didn't have to worry anymore. So even though she didn't really know him, she still reached out in her sleep for him. Not knowing his name, just his kind and sad face, and his scent.

She looked a fine mess, clothes bloody from herself and hair mess. But that didn't matter, she was safe, whole and warm. And in his bed, maybe when she woke up her sense would return, but for now she would enjoy her sleep. A sleep of the dead, but more like the innocent this time.
