How many schools have you been to?

I've known many people to have only gone to 1-3 schools. But me, I have gone to... 10 different schools. All of them with a totally different atmosphere.

EDIT: i'll do what Amethyst Lavenlight did.

Elementary Schools: 5
Middle Schools: 1
High Schools: 4
Total: 10

Well, Ive only gone to 4 different schools through out Elementary to College. That being said, I was at each school for the duration of the grades/course that I was to be taking there. I never did have to switch schools when I was younger for any reason. Even after we moved, my parents didnt have us change schools so that we wouldnt lose any friends that we did make while we were there.

Not as much as you, Electronica, but still more than most kids should have to go through. Both my parents are military, so I've been snatched from schools smack dab in the middle of the year and thrown into a new school with a new curriculum. I have to say, it sucked. :| Especially when I was getting comfortable at my high school and then my parents got a surprise job all the way across the country right in the middle of my junior year.

It's really tough to adjust, especially if you're already an extremely introverted person like I was. To be honest, it takes me well over a year to make friends and "fit in" at a new school. The transition is a little easier when you're moving within a certain area (like my move from Mississippi to Florida--they both had rednecks galore xD) but it's a lot harder moving to different states or different countries. Not a fun experience. But once I finished high school, I get to set the controls for my life. I'm heading to college and only one college (excluding the community college I'm in...>.>) with no plans to transfer.

Enrolling in 10 different schools sounds like it was incredibly tough, especially if the transfer times were very close to each other. :c But hopefully you'll be done transferring soon, if not already.

I was moved in the middle of multiple school years. And i couldn't agree more, it sucked. From all my moving i was "Lucky" to graduate on time. I know how you feel. It is tough. But I think it makes us who we are today and we can live by how we struggled to find friends and peace with all the transfers.

I was planning on doing the same with colleges. Stick with a community college then transfer to a 4 year. But we'll see. How life is going, I think i might hop over to a different community college miles away where more of my old fiends go. I might find some peace there by knowing more people.

Good luck to you and your journeys ahead. And i hope you find lots of friends at your college. C:

Same here. xD I'm friendless at this community college since most of the folks are fulltime workers with a spouse and kids. -shrug- I'm headed to uni this fall though, so pretty excited. I just can't wait for the stability! I mean, I've learned to adjust to change over these years, but I still crave just sitting down and getting time to actually adjust. When I graduate and actually have a job, I swear I'm going to have one house as HQ and just visit other places. xD

Edit:
Oh my god. :gonk: FOUR high schools?!

Elementary schools: 3
Middle schools: 2
High schools: 2
Only two of them had a huge difference. And I mean, HUGE. (That's what she said,) at the old school, in 2nd grade, we started using lockers. And we could use our cellphones in class, as well. But here, where I currently live, rules at school are very strict. We'll have our phone's taken away until the end of the year if we're caught using them in class.

Elementary Schools: 2
Junior High School: 1
High School: 1

In elementary I got switched to the "gifted" school, that was a load of crap. In junior high I was going to switch to one of two different schools ( AIMS, another "gifted school", or Monticello Academy, a charter school that my sisters went to, good thing I didn't because it SUCKED they came out stupider) but I dragged my feet a bunch, I am heavy, and got to stay at my school. For high school, I got my way and stayed there, my mom wanted me to go to another high school after mine dropped the IB program. I didn't care though, my college plans had changed so I wouldn't need the IB credits. Then she wanted me to go to this ambassador school in another state, I was like, um heck no... I prefer to stay in one place because I have a hard time making friends. For college though I will be going to at least two schools. So far I have two universities I plan on going to, after those two I may go to another in a different state.

I almost forgot about that. xD One of the biggest changes for me transferring high schools was the instant 360 of rules. At my first high school, there was structure and rules, and teachers were respected. When I changed schools, it felt incredibly chaotic. I hated it. Teenagers would jump on desks, throw pencils across the room, tell the teachers to shut-up, and make prank calls in class while the teacher was trying to lecture. It bothered me that none of the kids received punishments; it was as if the teachers were afraid to send them to the office (not sure why). Ugh, that was incredibly frustrating. One of the reasons why I skipped my senior year--I just had to escape the anarchy. ;_;

I'm not from the US, so our school system is different, but mine are:
Primary Schools: 3
High Schools: 1
College/Sixth Form: 3
University: 1

But it will be two universities, as I'll be going back to uni to get qualified as a teacher this year.

I've gone to four different schools, maybe five. I went to Christie Public School [ special needs, but here's the kicker ] for a year, but my brother was found "retarded", so we had to go to a different school. I went to a ghetto school with jerk off children, was picked on FOREVER, and middle school came, and I was picked on by them, then I went to Highschool. Next year I'm going to college, hopefully. So.

Ummm... I'm not sure. ): I think I've been to about 8. I end up getting too sick to go to school so I'll drop out and homeschool for a while, then we move and I try again at a different school, drop out again. It's really hard to get through it, so I'm starting to look into getting my GED.

Middle Schools: 2
High Schools: 1
Universities: 3

I tried a private school in middle school cause I hated my school. I learned to appreciate it very quickly and switched back to public after a year. The private school kids were particularly horrid brats.

Three universities because undergrad, study abroad, and then an attempt at grad school (didn't like my program after all though).

I've been to about 9:
3 Preschools (that I could remember - my family and I moved a lot back then)
2 Elementary Schools (district was so large that we had 2 schools for kindergarten through 3rd grade)
1 Middle School (I was in private school from 4th to 8th grade)
1 High School
& 2 Universities (I took summer classes at a community college)

I hate it when you change school and everything is completely different. I have been there. It not fun. And i'm sorry to hear that you're at a strict school. Don't get caught with your cell phone out. Lol.

When I moved from my first high school, life for me was different. My first school was a little on the.. "Bad Side". Im still used to how it was and compare it to my life (I lived the longest there) So my first school had at least 5 fights a week. 2 bomb threats. Countless gang threats. Kids getting hit by cars on purpose. Buildings going in flames. Multiple stabbings. Animals in lockers. It was a crazy school. But i loved it (Disclaimer is, i did NOT like the animals in the lockers part). You just have to notice that if you find your true best friends there, they have got your back 'till the end of time. They didn't care if you had the newest clothes or anything. As long as you were a true good friend you safe. :) Since i've moved they are still there for me.

When I got to my 2nd high school it was a completely different world. It was a world of plastic. Every girl was orange from tanning. Their hair bleach blonde. and you only had friends if you had the most recent mercedes or BMW. One kid actually turned down a Beamer because it was the 2003 model. They were spoiled rotten. It was all about looks there. Girls came back from summer break with new boobs and liposuction. I thought this kind of life only existed in the movies. I was wrong. It took me longer to find friends but i finally found people.

But anyways. That was long. Lol. I hope you have fun at school. C:

I went to 7 different schools in my elementary career. Middle school was spent in a different state each year(Ohio, Georgia and California respectively) and my high school freshman year was spent in Taiwan. Am currently debating on whether or not to stay in Taiwan or return to California for 10th grade. Sometimes I think God is personally screwing my life.
