We're only here for the summer. The jobs are seasonal and pay well enough that me and Liz won't have to work for our rent money for at least three months after we move back to Indiana. She's trying to pay off all the money she owes to EVERYONE and I'm trying to save up so that we can move to Oregon and eventually Quebec. Additionally, we had to get out of Indiana. We'd been there all our lives and we were tired of it. Between the anti-equality laws that keep getting passed there and the fact that Planned Parenthood Indiana had its funding cut substantially because of a complete misunderstanding and redundancy, we figured it would benefit us to be away from Hoosier politics for awhile. We'll only be spending a small amount of time here, and then again in Indiana before we head out to the coast. Hopefully so that we can finally tie the knot.

That would be nice. :)
I'm sorry you have to go through so much to get what should be something so basic and simple. :(
People are such dumbasses about things. :/

Yes, well, I have come to terms with the fact that my rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are unconstitutional as per the United States Government.
As well as the rather backwards thinking that I can be 'cured' of my homosexuality through the power of Jesus Christ. Or mormonism. Or whatever.
Additionally that my behaviors are the result of an abusive parent or absent mother figure.
Possibly that I'm going to Hell, regardless of whether I repent for my sin of lust, because I would be repenting for the selfish reason of gaining entrance to Heaven...
I read the whole expose on the Westboro Baptist Church. Stupidity can come out of very intelligent mouths, and wisdom is more often found in the simpleton. Somewhere along the line, I began talking like a fortune cookie.

Westboro baptist is not Christian. Just saying.
Please don't lump me in with them. XD Not that you would, but I am Christian, and have no problem with gay people whatsoever.

I didn't say you were. I gave a list of fallacies that were often supported by the WBC. There's no need to defend yourself.
Even when I was an avid churchgoer, I didn't agree with the principles of John Phelps because they went against what I understood the Bible to stand for. Just like with any other subculture/counterculture, there are extremes. In general, I have some issues with extremists because after hearing rant upon rant on both the conservative and liberal sides of most issues, it seems like a good portion of radicals just listen to the things they want to hear.
For example, I would LOVE to see equal rights for women. I believe that women should receive equal pay as men, and after nearly a year in khakis and a blue shirt with a nametag I can safely say that that is not the case in America. I do not, however, think that a female president is the cure to all our problems. I would like women to have a fighting chance, but if I do not agree with the issues that the candidate takes a stance on, I will likely not vote for her.
My 'middle of the road' attitude isn't merely limited to religion.

Completely understandable.
I didn't mean to sound defensive, it's just that so many people seem to think all Christians are homophobic, racist, etc. And actually being any of those things would be completely against what Jesus taught and was all about.
And of course being ranted at, and insulted at least twice a week whenever I'm in school doesn't help. >.>
...anyways! It's so good to have you back. :)

Well... see... the way it was at my school rang rather contrary. The Christian groups were benign with exceptions for the ever-present radicals. In which case, we simply shrugged and went on our way. Occasionally, we debated, citing their own sources as points of reference. Generally, the loud ones are the ones that know the least about their own religion and just repeat what the pastor said on Sunday. After awhile, it was just background noise and we went on worshipping Satan with our homoerotic orgies and blood sacrifices. Y'know. Typical Thursday.
But cynicism aside, its good to be back. And even if Montana is a rather counter-progressive state, its something I've come to terms with. I can look out my window and see the Rockies.

Always wanted to visit there. :)
Sorry about the guy getting beat up though. :/
In middle school the rumor was that I was gay, so I got beat up and made fun of a lot for it. ...The fact that I was not gay didn't actually seem to matter to anyone.

Montana is pretty open to alternative religions. A lot of homeopathic herbalists, metaphysical healers, etc. The Native American root culture has a pretty strong influence.
Minnesota is at the very bottom of my list of places to move to. My brief time in the state failed to hold my interest.

Never been there, so I can't safely say. But my plans include Oregon. Pretty much everyone I've talked to who lives there has liked it. No sales tax. =D
Sorry I disappeared. A tarot reading was needed. Apparently.

It wasn't for me, it was for my friend Mike. He's having some girl trouble and wanted me to interpret his reading for him. I'm not familiar with his deck, though, so I can't say that I read it correctly. Instead of doing things in the pattern of choice, it seemed more that it was choosing a card that represents each person involved in the spread and characterizing them through that. Which just ended up rehashing what he already knew about himself and her and was completely unhelpful.
And this is why you don't ask a deck the same question more than once in a row. It get tired of your shit.

It just throws out random cards to see what you come up with. Nothing bad, just extremely unhelpful. But its his fault for not listening.

Spirits are rarely fickle with me. Even if I'm being a dumbass. Not sure why. Maybe I just know nice ones. :)

Well, you probably listen to them well enough not to ask them the same question over and over again. Its not so much about being fickle as much as it is that, like with ANY person, there are only so many times you can tell someone something before you just stop giving them advice.
