Rythen gasped. She's crazy if she thinks I'm going to close my eyes. He looked at her and realized she wasn't joking. Well if the worst happend and he fell there was a net. He sighed, closed his eyes, and took the first step. He took another step. The problem with her juggling idea was that when he juggled he usually wasn't moving, had something else doing the moving for him, or he didn't care where he went. But he paid attention to where his foot fell. He took a few more steps then started tipping to the right. He knew better then to try to catch himself. It would only make him fall faster and it might damage his hands or arms.

Scarlett grabbed both his arms and balanced him. "Good job, you can open your eyes now." She said, looking down towards the floor. They were now in the middle of the wire. "You can have your eyes open the rest of the way across, though its easier to walk when you don't see the height." She said, patting his shoulder. Once she had him balanced again she let go and walked a few feet away, then put out a hand to see if he could follow.

Rythen opened his eyes and looked down. He mused for a second that if there were trees around him and grass below him, like at home, the height would not have scared him at all. His feet started to protest this new treatment so he took a step forward. He looked up and saw Scarlett smiling at him holding out a hand. He smiled at her and took another step. "Less then half way to go now. I think I'm doing alright. Won't win any speed prizes though."

"Eh, you'll get there eventually. At least I know you trust me enough to let me drag you up here." She said, taking another step away from him to see if he could catch up or not. "I was worse than you my first time, I ended up slipping but refused to let go of the wire to fall. And my trainer had to pry me off the wire and carry me down." She smirked. "So at least your not hanging onto the wire and blubbering like a baby like myself." She said, laughing a little at remembering the trainers face when she refused to let go.

Rythen smiled. "Thank you. No, while I still might fall I wouldn't grab the wire. If I hurt my hands it would make juggling much harder. I would probably prefer trying to hold onto the wire with my legs. A juggler doesn't really need his legs." He laughed at his own joke. He took a few more steps. "Though I do find it amazing that you managed to hang on long enough for someone to come and get you. I don't think I would have the strength for that."

She laughed at his joke and smiled a little as she noticed he was getting closer to her out stretched hand. So she took another step back. "Your doing really good. Slow, but good." She said, then looked towards the wire. "Yeah.. I'm deathly afraid of heights so I refused to let go no matter how bad it hurt. " She grinned. "Imagine being forty feet up every night and fearing heights." She said, watching as he walked. To think she hadn't spoken to anyone but the twins in months and now talking to him her words came naturally like they did around Azra and Chenol.

Rythen took a few more steps forward. "I can't imagine doing something like this all the time and being afraid of heights. At least I don't have that. I'm afraid of the fall. Just being high up doesn't bother me." He took a few more steps forward. He was ready to get down. He was enjoying talking to her but he needed to do get down.

((going to bed))

Scarlett noticed he had the look of wanting to get down and took his hand, leading him to the other side of the rope slowly. "There. See? It wasn't that hard was it?" She asked with a small smile. She led him down the latter and stretched her arms. She guessed that the show would be starting soon. "Thanks for letting me help you." She said softly.

Dressed Zalia walked out of her tent and made her way to the Big Tent. She was in one of her ringleader outfits. Tonight's costume was a short black dress with a poofy skirt. It had a tight bodice and it was lacy. For shoes she wore black boots that came up to her knees. Over the dress she wore a red tail coat with a high collar that stood up around her neck. There were sparkles all over the coat. Her dark brown hair was done in a very intricate side braid and on top of her head was a top hat that was red with a black ribbon tied around it, a bow in the back.

Grinning she walked into the back stage to see if anyone was back getting ready. They still had an hour left till opening so she knew no one would probably be back there. No one had to be until 15 minutes before their act.

"IDO!" Kalapos' loud cry rang through the practice tent, as she ran through, lookign for her brother. Finally spotting him in one of the far corners, she ran over to him, nearly in tears. "Oh, Ido, they're gone! My fans are gone. The ones that I've been practicing for for months! I can't find them anywhere!"

She was starting to get histerical, and Ido knew he had to do something to calm her down. Though, he understood where her worry came from. Those fans were the first thing she ever made for herself, and she had gotten rather attached to them. "It's fine, Kal. Just calm down a bit, and I'll help you find them. There's plenty of time before your act, and I know you saw the timings, so don't tell me you don't know when you go on. You look around here again, and I'll head back stage to see if they're there. And if I see anyone, I'll ask them if they've seen your fans."

Seeing her nod and walk over to the area where the equipment was kept, Ido hurried over backstage, wanting to hurry up and find his sister's fans. Seeing Zalia already there, he decided that she might know where they were, and walked over to her to ask. "Hey, Zalia. Have you happened to have seen Kal's fans anywhere? Her show ones, not her practice ones. She can't find them, and she's getting pretty histerical looking for them." He grimaced a bit, not liking that his sister was so upset and he couldn't do anything about it.

When Zalia heard Ido speak from behind her she turned around. Shaking her head she looked at him with a grim face. "No I haven't seen them anywhere I'm sorry. I will help look though, I'm sure they're around here somewhere!" She walked over to him and patted him on the shoulder. Zalia hoped they found the fans because she knew how much they meant to Kal. "Where does she usually keep them?" She asked as she starting moving stuff around and looking under things.



Laughing loudly Azra took the lead in the race against her sister. They were racing to where the animals were kept to let some steam out. She was going around a corner when she stopped suddenly. Chenol came to a stop by her with a questioning face. Azra lifted her head up and sniffed. She wasn't really smelling but sensing the area. "There'sss a hunter near by." Was all she said before she continued over to the animal tent. When she talked it came out like a hiss from her snakes tongue. She knew Cire would be there. Chenol followed after her. The two sisters slithered into the tent and over to Cire and Adam. Chenol was the one to speak. "My ssisster ssenssed a hunter nearby." Her voice also came out in a hiss because of her tongue. When the twins shifted into their tails their tongues turned like a snakes also.

Ido ran a hand through his hair, frusterated. At least he had Zalia helping look for the fans, now. "She normally keeps them either in her tent, in the practice tent with her other stuff, or in here, though I have no idea where in here. They're not in her tent, otherwise she would have found them easily, and she's looking in the practice tent right now, though I doubt they're there either. I was helping her practice her routine earlier today, and I only saw her practice fans in her equipment trunk." Letting out a sigh, he began looking through the items that were strewn about.

"You'd think that after being in a circus for so long, she'd have learned to keep track of her props." He chuckled a bit, trying to keep from getting histerical himself. It always worried him immensely whenever Kalapos got upset or angry, even more so now that her 18th birthday was only a few weeks away.

Crouching down Zalia started going through a pile of props that were just thrown there. They really needed to start organizing things back stage or they were going to have more problems. "Oh I still loose things and I've been here for thousands of years! I think it's time we organized things." She laughed softly and stood up going to another pile she began looking through it. Suddenly she had an idea and she stood up from her crouch once more. "I can try a finding spell if you would like me to?" She would have to chant the spell for her staff was in her tent.

Cire blinked as she heard Adam's voice, saying the last little words which made the skin reattach quicker so she could have a conversation without leaving the wound behind in state of being half healed... That would be bad. ''Hello Adam~'' The woman stood up and left the cage, closing it behind her with the one tail that showed. ''Well, it's only natural for me to love them since I am an animal myself, I'm glad to hear you love animals as well though.'' Pointing at the whip she continued ''And I guess that's just for the audience?'' She gave him a bright smile, already knowing the answer. Sure enoguh the lions would have complained against her if the whip was actually used in an abusive manner. She shuffled a bit with her bare feet, feeling the Azra and Chenol approaching... When the snake twins approached she brushed a hand through her hair, biting her lower lip while wondering what to do about it. ''I don't think the hunter would attack during the show, too much of an audience as you all would undoubtedly understand, still it's better to ask everyone to keep an eye out. Maybe ask everyone to be near each other... You know, those who can't fight with a person who can.'' Cire sighed, giving a small smile.

''And it's maybe an odd request to you two, but could you ask Mellie if she has a performance outfit already? I'm planning on going to the market tomorrow since we are on a shortage of... Well, a lot. If she has already, I won't need to buy silks and the like. But if she doesn't we need to have the material for making it... Please?'' She asked, two hands in front of her mouth as a begging gesture.

((In case you're wondering: Cire has a bit of a stare. As if she's looking right through you... She is looking at aura, but that's something you can't really focus your eyes on :P))

Adam:

Adam looked at her side and saw her tail. Of course! I guess I should've known that she was an animal lover if she was one herself. Whatever, guess I know now. He looked down athis whip. "Yeah, it's just for show. I wouldnever use it on my animals." He smiled after he said that thinking of his animals. "And of course I'll check on Mellie for you. I guess I'll see you later then. It was nice seeing you here." Since Adam didn't know what else to say, he left the animal tent with Cire. Hopefully I'll see her soon after the performance.

After a few rounds of walking around the tents, he found Mellie's tent. Adam stood outside the tent because he knew it would be rude to just walk in in her unexpectedly. He cleared his throat and took a deep breath. "Hey Mellie, it's me Adam. Cire said that you might not have a costume so she asked to come help you. So, uhh, would you like my help?" He hoped she would need at least some help; he wanted to really get to know her. "So do you Mellie?" I hope she's at least in her tent right now....

Rythen let out a big breath as soon as he was off the wire. "It was fun but not an act for me." He smiled at her, "no thank you. It is good to get outside your area of comfort." When they had climbed down he bowed to Scarlett. "I must regretably leave now. It would be horrible form to show up late for ones own act." He winked then turned quickly running off.

He ran back and found Ahanna sitting in the same spot. "Ahanna it is almost show time. We need to go get prepaired."

Ahanna had heard Rythen run up behind her. At his words she jumped slightly. "Oh, I'm sorry Mellie I need to go now. We can talk after the show I guess." She stood up and walked to the show tent with Rythen. They walked around to the back enterance but did not enter yet. They would practice out here for a bit.

Lucifer nodded to Ido, then walked away. He went to his practice tent, and sighed. "Lovely..." he groaned, then climbed up his latter, about fifty feet up, and stared down at the floor. With a deep breath, he jumped out five feet, and grasped the steel pole that lay horizontal. Slowly, he lifted himself, and sat down on it. He stretched for a few minutes, everything from his legs to his neck. Then, with utter grace, he lifted his lower body up, doing a full handstand on the pole. He did a mid-air split, still on his hands, then curled up, his arms not showing the slightest sign of giving in. He decided to get testy, and went from two arms to one arm. He let his body stretch back out, and he smiled as all his bones crackled. As time went on, he did one-handed flips, flew from the steel bar to the swings, and did fabric-twisting. One of the reasons he was so popular, was because he was a man, and he could bend, twist, and flip every-which way he wanted to.

Mellie put the present in her back pocket, and walked around. "Where'd they go..." she whined to herself, then saw Ahanna, and then Rythen, standing in the back. "Hey!" she called out, running to them. She hugged Ahanna tightly, jumping slightly to get her arms wrapped around the woman's neck. "Thank you!" she smiled big, letting go, letting herself drop back to the ground. She ran her fingers through her green hair, and pushed it out of her face. Turning to Rythen, she debated on jumping a foot or so to hug him, or bowing. She shrugged, and simply wrapped her arms around his waist, and closed her eyes, smiling as she hugged him. "Thank you..." she said again. "So much," her smile grew as she let go. Before letting them speak, she chimed up quickly, "I'll be watching from the audience!" She then ran off, waving as she did so, looking back, and smiling wide. "GOOD LUCK!" she giggled.

Scarlett watched as he left, giving a small wave. Since she was the last act she wasn't in such a hurry. She wandered around the tentsand then stopped at the entry way of one towatch Lucifer. He had a high up act like herself but he was a lot better than her at all the twists and tricks. She smiled a little, not saying anything but just watching. Even hish high wire is farther up than hers. Hers is in between forty and forty five feet but his looked around fifty. She watched quietly, making sure not to make any noise.

Ahanna gasped when Mellie came running up to her and hugged her. She laughed when the girl turned to Rythen. After the firl had left Ahanna turned to Rythen. "Doing really good with the ladies huh?"

Rythen smiled down at the girl huggin his waist. He watched her run off. He listened to Ahanna then laughed. "Well we better do good tonight. I've got lots of young women to impress." He winked at her as they got back to work.

Lucifer stopped mid-air, on the fabrics, and looked down at Scarlett. "Hey, beautiful," he grinned, and twirled around, then jumped to the highest swing. He then flipped up, back to the steel bar. Grinning, his white teeth flashing, he fell backwards, letting his legs support him. Just to be a flirt, he took off his shirt, showing off his toned body. "I heard that Mellie girl's rope goes to the top of the performing tent. Maybe you two should try performing together? She does some similar things like yourself..." he stretched out, groaning loudly as his back snapped. "You can teach her, she seems really sweet, everyone seems to love her so far...And she seems really lost," he laughed softly. He felt comfortable around Scarlett, it was like he'd known her for ages, but he usually shrugged that feeling far away.

Mellie ran into the performing tent, after changing quickly, and took her seat, right in the front row, in the middle. She was in a cute green dress. She wanted to impress Rythen, but so far, she seemed to be failing. 'I bet he has girls swarming around him...I'm just another one,' she pouted to herself. As she sat there, she noticed more and more people entering. They stared at her, and watched her, but she just sat there, staring ahead like she was totally oblivious to them. A second later, two men sat on each side of her, extremely close. Instead of greeting them, after they greeted her, she sat there, focused on the floor. She felt her face twist from happy, to scared, and the men just laughed, called her cute, and stared at her. 'Perverts...' she thought.

Ahanna caught the ball Rythen had juggled to her but did not toss it back. "I'm going to go check on the crowd." She jumped off her perch on pegasus and walked around to the front of the tent. She walked inside and looked around. Right away she noticed the new girl, Mellie, sitting in the front. It looked like she was having problems with a couple of men. Ahanna walked towards the seats and excused her way over to Mellie. She stopped in front of the man on the right of Mellie. The man looked up at her with a look slightly like freight. With her dark skin, silver hair, silver eyes, and pointed ears she was different looking. "Excuse me sir, it looks like you've managed to take my seat. Now move over." She waited a moment while the man moved over. She sat down and draped her arm over Mellie's shouldar. "Hey darlin'. Decided to sit out this time and watch us today?"

Smiling softly, Mellie nodded. "My rope is all the way up at the top...Almost 90 feet...I need to practice a bit before performing," she giggled, blushing softly. "I'm kind of nervous, as silly as it sounds." Her laugh was soft, gentle, and sweet. For a second, she stayed silent, then started playing with her thumbs. "What's Rythen like?" she asked, her face turning bright red. "I..I mean, you know," she stopped. Looking to Ahanna, she giggled again, hiccuping softly. Ahanna was so graceful, beautiful, and just lovely. 'I wish I was that pretty...I'm so short and...Eh...' she thought, then looked away from Ahanna. "Sorry!" she apologized, smiling sadly.

Ahanna glared behind Mellie's back at the other man till he slid over a few inches. Then she looked back at the girl. "You don't have anything to be sorry about." Her eyes widened. "Wow, that is high up. I could never do that. But I'm sure you'll do great at the next show. Don't worry. At Rythen and my first show I dropped one of the balls. We were juggling together and were up to about ten balls. I dropped it and thought I would die from embarrassment. But Rythen managed to kick it back up and I caught it. We pretended it was part of the act." She sighed remembering it.

She paused and looked out over the crowd. "Rythen is a great man. He is the only reason I'm still alive. When are town was attacked he managed to get me out of there. If he had not been there I would have stayed trying to save my family. I would have been killed kneeling over my dead mother." She stopped rememebering it then shook her head. "No, he is a kind man. He thinks he needs to care for everyone. He is extremely loyal. And if he had been the one to see you with these men they no longer would be sitting here. He wouldn't hurt them of course. And if you had looked like you had wanted them sitting there he would have done nothing. But as it was he would have made them realize how much they wanted to be somewhere else."

Cire silently waved Adam off, a smile on her lips. Somehow the guy had... Potential. For what she didn't know, but not that that mattered, If you have potential you just have it, doesn't matter for what. Instead of walking in the open, she stayed in the animal tent, taking a few breaths as her tail and fox ears shrunk untill they were just a little larger back bone and pointy human ears. The woman brushed her hand through her hair, which turned black. Okay, a black haired woman with bright blue eyes... Nevermind, lets turn those eyes a little bit more.. Dark and less bright. Perfect, an asian woman in a circus. In the end Cire was born in Asia, on an island somewhere around China and Japan.

She walked to the main tent, walking between the audience, looking around as if she was searching for someone. The fact was, the fox was searching for that one presence that didn't belong here. That of a hunter to be exact. And found. In a tree quite a distance from where she was. She acted as if she gave up on searching for the person, not showing she had found what she was looking for. Her now dark blue eyes scanned around the audience, happy to spot the presence of Mellie and Ahanna. Oh wait.. That meant Adam went to her tent where she wasn't. Though the boy did seem to just wish to know the new girl better. Ugh, a bit too much thinking? She thought for another moment, probably not. So in the end, Cire stood in the opening of the main tent, appearing to be waiting for someone who wouldn't show up.

"I see..." her voice cracked. "My mother died a year ago. She had an illness. I did everything I could to help her, no matter what the doctor said. I just kept trying..." she spoke softly. "I've been trying to find that special someone...She told me he'd be like me...Different..." She laughed and swung her feet. "Rythen is a sweet man, but he pays no mind to me, that much," she stared up, letting her hair fall down her back, and down onto her seat. Her stomach growled loudly, making Mellie's eyes widen. "Whoops..." she whispered, remembering she only had an apple, today. Her hands held her stomach, as she whispered, "I'll find him, mama!"
