"I think you're starting to get desensetized," Aleron joked, getting out some food and offering it to Margaret as well.

"Seriously," Margaret replied, accepting the food. "It's not normal for people to be exposed to legendaries so often they get desensitized to it."

"Yeah, I know," Aleron said with a chuckle. "I'm still amazed we're not dead yet."

"Yeah, really," Margaret replied. "Not that we haven't given it a decent effort or anything."

Aleron snorted. "Yeah, really. Oh well." She took another bite before she stretched a bit. "Feeling better now?"

"Yeah," Margaret replied. At some point, she'd released her pokemon again, and she leaned back against Metagross as Espeon curled up in her lap. Her Natu chirped and settled on her shoulder.

"Good," Aleron said. "I think I'm gonna go to sleep now. So we can get going again tomorrow."

"I like that idea," Margaret said. She took off her shoes and set them next to the cot before moving her Natu and Espeon enough to get onto it. "Maybe tomorrow will be good enough I can challenge the gym."

"Sounds like a plan to me," Aleron agreed, settling down on her cot. "Get some things, challenge the gym leader, have some fun..."

Margaret yawned and laid back on her cot.

"Sleep now, plan later," she said.

"Mmm." Aleron settled down and fell asleep quickly. She woke up the next morning when Vulpix pounced on her, and she groaned and waved Vulpix off to go wake up Margaret.

Vulpix didn't have to pounce on Margaret. Natu beat the fire-type to it. She fluttered up and down near Margaret's face, chirping cheerfully.

"Sweetling, really," Margaret muttered. "It's early. Stop talking in my ear."

"I think she's telling you to get up," Aleron groaned, rolling over onto her stomach so she could bury her face in her pillow.

"I know she's telling me to get up," Margaret said, gently pushing the Natu away. "Can't you hear her? The sun came up, obviously the day is supposed to start." She burrowed deeper into the bedding, pulling the blanket up over her head.

Aleron stayed where she was, sprawled over the cot with her face buried in the pillow.

The Natu chirped some more, and finally Margaret sat up.

"Alright, look, I'm up," she said. "What do you want?" The Natu fluttered over to the window and stared intently up at Bell Tower. Confused, Margaret went over to see what the problem was. She stopped dead when she saw the tower.

"Aleron, I think you should see this," she said. The entire tower was glowing and shimmering in different colors, and she could see Ho-Oh up at the top, looking furious.

Aleron dragged herself to her feet and went to go look. Then she was awake.

"What the hell...?" Frowning, she tried to get a better look. "Oh yeah, Ho-oh's pissed off about something. This cannot end well."

"Should we try to see what's going on?" Margaret asked. "Maybe we'll find out what's pissing it off, and figure out how to make it stop."

Aleron nodded her agreement and headed out of the pokemon center, Jolteon and Vulpix following her. She ran over towards the tower, looking around as she did to see if she could find out what was going on.

Margaret got her shoes on and followed her, Metagross behind her carrying Espeon and Natu. The entire tower was lit up in rainbow colors, and Margaret could hear Ho-oh up at the top shrieking.

"You start looking around for something that could have upset it, and I'll try to distract it." Aleron looked up at Ho-oh and started climbing to see what she could do.

Margaret watched Aleron start climbing the tower. Ho-oh immediately honed in on her, and Margaret got a really bad feeling. A moment later, Ho-oh started gearing up for an attack.

"Metagross, Light Screen!" Margaret yelped. Instantly, Metagross was in front of Aleron, its Light Screen struggling to hold back the blazing flames being shot at them.

Aleron quickly backed off. "Metagross, get out of there!" she called, watching worriedly. Okay, so going up there was a bad idea.

The Light Screen shattered, and Metagross was thrown back onto the ground. He was smoking faintly, and the grass where he landed started to smolder, proving how hot he'd gotten.

"Metagross!" Margaret rushed over to him. She land her hands on his side and then jerked them back before she could be burned. "You did great, buddy. Just rest, I'll get you to the pokemon center." She recalled him before he could get up and try to jump back into the battle.

Aleron's eyes widened when she saw Metagross. "Go get him to the pokemon center," she said, looking back up at Ho-oh and trying to figure out how she was going to calm it down.
